Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. 1000 mile review. Riding some of Britain’s Best Roads.
Do you still ride the Himalayan 450. I noticed you haven't posted anything about the bike and wondered if you are finding it. I am saving for the Himalayan 450. I had a setback. I was rear-ended by a van driver who scarpered from the scene of the accident. His van was uninsured. I'm looking forward to an update on your opinion of the bike, take care, and enjoy
@@susanowen5505 Hi Susan. Yes I have still got the Himalayan 450. I was out on it last week. It’s a fantastic bike and no regrets buying it. It’s a real do anything machine. I plan on doing some more videos over the next couple of weeks. Sorry to hear about your accident and the fact he left the scene. Hope you enjoy your 450 when it arrives. Cheers Mick.
Whats that on the seat called?
@@TheFrog767 it’s called a cool seat cover. It keeps the seat cool in summer and dry in winter. Available on eBay and Amazon
Thanks
Hi there, thanks for the tip very useful..!! ..any ideas on how to get constant airflow overnight - without cutting a hole in the roof..??
Thanks for the comments. I’m actually installing the roof fan on the rear passenger barn door. As I don’t want to cut into the roof. I’ve seen this done before and works very well. The video will be posted within the next two weeks. Cheers Mick.
The power banks I've seen of the type you have probably contain 7x 18650s that typically contain 1200-1400 mAh each. The remaining 9000000mAh are Chinese dreams. But if it continues to function, I don't think the price is a deterrent.
Thank you sir. I just ordered jets . They are on sale right now. Greetings from Germany
Thank you for your comments. Greetings from the UK. Cheers Mick
Wow love that Mick look great . Makes it look and feel warmer to I bet , plus reducing that rain noise
The road noise is a massive improvement and of course the comfort too. Cheers Mick

Happy new year Mick, love your channel mate. Look forward to more content this coming year, yes and the CRF please 😀
Happy new year mate. I’m just in the planning a ACT wales weekend with the lads on the CRF. Thanks for your comments. Cheers Mick.
walking is excellent mate, good for the body and the mind. glad yer feeling better and good luck with the alcohol reduction. ive decided to cut it out altogether and just drink when i go out so looking forward to next night out lol plus the money ill save will probably get me that off road bike in a few months 🤣
Cheers Sean. Just need to keep up the good work I’ve already started. Hopefully be back out on the bikes when this snow clears up. Cheers Mick
Looking forward to the rest of the van build 😊
Cheers Denis. Hopefully getting back on the van conversation next week.
Like your plans.
Thank you very much. Cheers Mick

What thickness was the board was it 3.6 or 6mm please looks great 👍
@@b34r81 hi. I used 3.5 mm as its lighter and easier to lift and fit.
Why did you buy the left had drive version?
Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean?
Thanks for your info and video. Mine arrived from Sportsbikeshop without instructions so your info made it that bit easier. Good piece of kit.
Glad it helped you. Cheers Mick
Hi Mr. @Rad, What is the screen size of Carpure? Is it 7 inches? It seems like the screen protrudes outside the windshield. Could wind cause it to wobble? I'm having trouble deciding which screen size would be a better fit-7 inches or 5 inches. I love the 7-inch screen because of the extra real estate, but I'm having second thoughts about going with the 5-inch screen, as the 7-inch might not fit perfectly behind the windscreen.
Hi. Thanks for your comments. My screen is 7 inches and just fits behind the screen without any issues. I have a friend who has the 5 inch screen which is more compact. its really down to personal choice. Hope this helps.
@@RAD_RIDERS_UK Thanks for the confirmation. This helps.
Hi Mick, came across your channel whilst looking at suspension mods for Honda CRF 300L. I m really keen to get into green laning and maybe some overnight camping / trails . Got an old BSA A65 Hornet off the road and a Honda CB750 SOHC in bits so desperate to get back on the road with a reliable dual sport bike. Got my eye on the Honda CRF Rally and your reviews have only increased my appetite to own one! My question to you is... is the 300L still the bike you love and intend on keeping or knowing what you know would you swap it for something different? I see you've bought the RE Hym but assume you've still kept the 300L? Appreciate any advice you can give me. PS Like you was at the NEC bike show and surprised the KTM 390 ADV R was not there.... maybe if KTM don't go bankrupt maybe this bike would be a good competitor to the CRF? All the best Deryck
Hi Deryck. Thanks for your comments. Yes I still have the CRF300L and have no intentions of selling it. I bought this for winter riding and getting into green laning. I have grown with the bike and modded it when needed. Its a fantastic bike and I don't think it can be beaten pound for pound. I bought the Himalayan for long distance road and light gravel travel and have not been disappointed with this bike either. They are two different bikes for different occasions.. The CRF is still my favorete. Hope this helps. Cheers Mick
Great vid About 15000 miles on my Rally now and it’s been fantastic easy to ride easy to pick up. It keeps up with traffic. The engine is in a fairly low state of tune so it should happily go for 60k miles plus. I will certainly keep mine.
I totally agree, mines a keeper too. Cheers Mick
Can you remove your satnave easy say when you leave the bike and go in to accomodation, for thieft purposes
Yes, just disconnect the wire and unscrew the ram mount. Removed in seconds. Cheers Mick
Hi thank you for sharing your thoughts i have been reading all the comments and it has been very helpful as i am going to get one next year i have a transalp and no longer need a bike of this size and power i have subscribe and look forward to more i like the top box as well God bless
Hi Thank you for your comments. Really appreciate it. Cheers Mick
That opposite side of the road thing messes me up. LOL Normal for you though.

Bike doesn’t have a single scratch.
That's bark busters and engine crash bars for you. The decals was all scratched , so they was all removed.
Now that RE have the TFT speedometer for the Himalayan they should offer it for the Shotgun. When you upgrade from the Meteor you dont want the same speedometer.
Good point, I agree with that 👍
Love my interceptor 650, wouldn’t swap it for anything
They are a fantastic bike and a great looking bike also.
Everyone complains about the side stand, but they don't know why it's made that way. When you're in the tight streets of a town in the mountains, where there's not a single flat spot to park your bike, then you'll appreciate the side stand. This bike was designed for the mountains, stop talking like that. All other bikes just cannot use the side stand when there is a slope.
@@soeft thank you for your comments I totally agree with you on the side stand. It’s not an issue. and as you say made for parking on mountain camber roads. Also people complained it was too long on the 411. Can’t please some people. Cheers Mick
Should use an electric screwdriver driver. Save you a lot of time ... :)

Many thanks.
It’s coming together nicely. I can’t wait to get one. I will have to re-watch all of these videos to sort mine out
Cheers Gilly. I'm really enjoying doing it. it would be a lot quicker and easier in the summer lol. If you need any tips when you are doing yours, let me know. Cheers Mick
I just can't get mine to fit properly. Seems tight up the side rather than the top. Very frustrating
I did struggle with one of mine and needed to be trimmed a little. The other one slotted straight in. I would check twitch your supplier, as they may have sent the wrong item.
I had same issue drivers worked fine but passenger side is tight on the side with the triangle window transit connect 17plate has anybody resolved this?
great video !!! were did you purchase carpet lining ? is it expensive ?
Thanks for your comments. The carpet is from ebay, £55 for the van walls with 6 cans of glue and £24 for the roof lining. Do you still own the scrambler? I’ve recently passed my test and trying to decide on what bike to get. I’ve been eyeing up the triumph speed twin and t100 as I like the modern retro aesthetic but I’m keen to do lots of touring in the summer so I’d been looking at the Tiger Sport 660. Also looking at the street scrambler, have you don’t much touring on it? How did you find it? I’d like something with the aesthetic and character of the triumph retros but still be able to tour in relative comfort. Any advice? 😊
Hi. Thanks for your comments. I had a tiger 800 which I toured on and was a great bike. However, it felt like a travel bike. My scrambler 900 was a miles for smiles bike which I loved riding, and did tour Scotland and France on that. It would definitely be the scrambler for me out of the two. Take them both on extended test rides and see which suits you best. Cheers Mick.
@ thanks for the advice! 😊
Good recommendations about not farkling more than you need right away.
Yeah do the bits that are right for you first. Then upgrade the rest when your skills improve. I just grew with the bike. Cheers Mick.
Where did you get the carpet from /what type is it ?
@@justafella.3496 here is the link to the carpet. I bought both the grey and the anthracite from the same company. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363914633077?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=o87a0f3ttpw&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=zIZCxNVHQju&var=633158603677&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
What do you think about the bike color in the real world? (I have ordered the same yesterday, but showroom had only Grey & green in hand)
It’s a good looking bike in this colour scheme. Much better in real life.
Hi. I’m 6.1, is about the right seat height for me?
@@jazpaulallen2409 yes absolutely. I’m 6.2 and the bike is perfect for me. It will fit you fine. Cheers Mick.
I am buying two of these. With a little modification this will work to lift the bike just a bit on the side stand. I think the only mod beyond drilling and using longer screws will be trimming an angle on the side where it wants to hit the swing arm. It will be an interesting experiment.
@@johnrykken7113 sounds good. Let me know how you get on. Cheers Mick.

I agree. It’s an impressive motorcycle.
I see there are two methods of connecting the comms.Comms to carpuride or comms to phone.Which are you using? Have you tried both?
Hi Steve. I haven’t tried connecting the comms to the carpuride yet. I just use it as a visual aid. I use my Cardos own radio and comms for this. I will try it out, and update a video soon. Cheers Mick.
Did not find the follow up.
Sorry I haven’t done a follow up video on this product yet. It’s a great little power bank for charging up your mobile phone and go pro battery’s. I got two days out of a full charge. However it’s not good for anything which draws more power than these. Cheers Mick.
Hi Just an ask for me. Any chance you can number the videos? Just easier to follow in sequence? Thanks
