I'm not much into horror movies, but I love *THE FOG* (1980). The only thing I can't understand is why it received an R rating. This movie has some sequences of intense violence, but none of them are particularly graphic, as you might expect from an R-rated horror movie. There is no visible blood in this film at all. Heck, *JAWS* (1975) contains a lot of blood. Yet, it was rated PG. If anything, Jaws should have been rated R while The Fog should have been rated PG.

If Stallone weren't a bodybuilder not one person on the planet would say he's a bad actor.

This is not a remake. I'm pretty sure Carpenter and Hill penned the story and the screen play themselves.

This movie is just your basic slasher film. It garnered a cult following mainly because Tom Savini did the effects. Some of these were truly gruesome.

When I first watched the movie, I watched Sleepaway Camp 2 and 3 on TV first and I didn't see the first one until after I downloaded the film on the Playstation. I watched it, the last scene was a shocker. But I had to watch it again because I thought she was a female in the 2nd and 3rd film. She was a boy, so I assume she had a sex change from male to female in the 2nd film to the 3rd film. I haven't watched the last sequel, 4th film. I guess they were ahead of their time with the first film.

I'm a huge fan of this B movie and have been since the late 70s and early 80s. The incidental music of this is creepy as eff, as are the zombies. It's a bad movie, but I do love it so.

There was a lot that was shocking about this. First and foremost that ending. But the acting was so terrible it became enjoyable. And the counselors.... where the heck were they?? That camp director or owner? How any parent could have sent their child to HIS camp after meeting him .... incredible. So much that was over the top. But indeed an ending that you just cannot see coming! (Most definitely one of the most disturbing IMO)

Why did Will Teasle (the Sheriff) deny Rambo a meal in town? If you look carefully in Will Teasle's office you will see a set of medals. These were his medals from fighting in the Korean War. This war is often referred to as the 'forgotten' war. If you read the book you will realize that Will Teasle's problem with Rambo was that Vietnam veterans were gaining more notoriety due to the media than anything he ever had when he returned from the Korean War. He felt slighted, and so this was a simple case of jealousy, and the reason why he wanted Rambo out of town. By the way I knew a real former Green Beret who served two tours in Vietnam as a sergeant platoon leader. A wonderful good man, and a true warrior. I learned a lot from this man who was my good friend about the Green Beret's and the Vietnam War, and miss our conversations. Bad ass? You betcha! Green Beret's are the cream of the crop, true elite special forces, highly trained and highly skilled with weapons/knives/their bare hands. They can live off the land and adapt to any climate or terrain. My recommendation to Teasle would have been don't mess with a Green Beret....because you are definitely going to find yourself drastically outclassed.

The soundtrack is legendary James Brown Ray Charles Henry Mancini Cab Callowau Wilson Pickett Aretha Franklin John Lee Hooker John Belushi and Dan Akroyd loves the blues and thought their music was being forgotten, so they made this movie amd invited all these legends to perform... Introduced them to a whole new audience

John Carpenter was talking about making this into a short series for streaming back in 2019 i think, but it obviously never gone anywhere.

The Thing Prince Of Darkness In The Mouth Of Madness John Carpenter's apocalypse trilogy. The Thing is still probably the best one, but this film got under my skin unlike most movies.

It isn't satan more so as it is the mirror image of God of the dark side of reality, as they call it Anti-God. The destructor, the creator of darkness. Satan is its son, which is that ooze. Its job was to find a host to become of a physical form, and bring Anti-God back to this reality to conquer it. It is sci-fi meets religion, very well done too. This is such an underrated Carpenter film, one of his best soundtracks and the atmosphere of dread is unlike most horror films I've ever seen. The dream transmissions scene gave me nightmares as a 24 year old, movies haven't done that to me since I was a preteen, and no 1 film I've seen since has had this effect on me.
