Florida Caverns State Park Horsemen Camp
There is 3 equestrian camp sites at the Florida Caverns State Park. Equipped with electric, water, fire pit, grill, picnic table and a big gravel pad. Very reasonably priced and close to town. Although the biggest down fall is the trails. Plus side there is a natural spring and they have cavern tours. It is a beautiful park with really nice staff.

One phone call as changed our lives forever. It's been a long wait and we couldn't be happier, but scared just the same. Owl Creek trailhead Horseman Camp inside the Bankhead National Forest. West of I65 near Danville AL. $5 per night to camp $3 per day to day ride. What a great find. Absolutely loved this hideaway. This is definately on the top of our list for best places to camp and ride. Although if you have a big heavy unit watch where you park, if it rains for a few days. It's a nice short stay campground. I was a little disappointed that you can not use the showers in the main campground, unless you pay extra at the office. This park is more accommodating to regular campers.. more hiking, biking trails than equestrian trails. How we fixed our motorhome on the side of the road with horses
Very thankful for the wonderful news regarding your son. The Lord's Mercy endureth forever. Hoping your son can go forward successfully, and you two can ride happier and more peacefully. Look forward to your next adventures. God Bless!
I look forward to your videos and enjoy seeing what different areas look like that you travel in. The campgrounds are nice to see but I also love to see the trails and what they are like. Plus, I have information to share with my husband in hopes that we can travel with horses and ride many of the trails you have shown us in your videos. Toss in a few minutes of your cooking and life with your RV for a little added variety, I'm not sure an entire video full of cooking would keep my attention but that's just me. I enjoy your videos of escaping the northern winters 🙂 that I am all too familiar with. I would love for your to keep producing your videos but in the end, do what makes you happy as well.
Thank you for your feedback. For now we are going to continue videoing our journey. We're trying to get use to bringing the cameras with us for everything we go to do. LoL 🤣
@@pleasureriderv I am happy to hear this.
Awe bit sad for you that there wasn't good trails. Hope you had a good clean up though. Tracey (Australia)
That's awesome news about your son's successful kidney transplant. I hope he continues doing well & can finally carry on with life as he wishes. It looked like this video started out with you two @ Lake Panasoffkee. I love that place except for the sandspurs, like you said. I haven't been to the one you're at now - Shangri-La I think you said. I know you're in Florida. I'm a Floridian & have never heard of it. I'll have to check it out. I look forward to your next video. 🙂
Shangri-la is on the south side of the Greenway. It's still our favorite place for trails in Florida. The hosts have been amazing with us and we're able to get us in so Jason was in a stable place while I flew home. It's a great place to camp, has a newly built hot shower house. Potable water only no electric.
Thank you both and all for letting us in on this part of your life. Wishing you great progress with his health and happy life ahead. Love to you from Tracey in Australia
Thank you Tracey.
He’s doing great. So scary. Happy for you guys. ❤
Good to hear things are moving forward for your son. Take care!
❤
Good to hear the good news, be careful you guys. Rob Hamros
Great news your kids are awesome ❤
Great news!!!
Have you ever been to French Creek South Dakota? It’s beautiful.
No we only travel into the USA in the winter. Being Canadian we can only be in the country 180 days. Some day we hope to be able to be in the US in the summer
I love your channels. His jokes and your reviews. I’m stuck in Alberta for winter for a few more years so I live vicariously through you. Film some random stuff throughout your day. Maybe some of the meals you make on the road.
Make your videos shorter and edit them better (edit out unnecessary stuff). Focus on highlighting things via a combination of short sections of your rides that stitch together and tell a story.
Thank you I'll work on that.
But can you explain edit then better.?
@@pleasureriderv Sure. Instead of one uninterrupted video with uninterrupted narration, try to pick out small sections of the whole video and make them into highlights that connect seamlessly one into the next. This will shorten the video, make it more interesting and captivating. Think of it as of telling a story to your audience and if you were that audience, what would you want to see and how long would you be watching it.
@beforetheydisappear8474 my videoing isn't just one continuous video it's probably 20 hours in multiple days, broken into a 20 min video. Some weeks there's really nothing interesting to film by I still have to make something it if it. But thanks for the advise. Do you have your own videos that I could watch to see how it's done
Hi. Please do not stop making videos. Always enjoy seeing the campgrounds and trails. As a hiker, I'm always interested in what the trails look like. Even if you've filmed a location before, it always looks a bit different. I've been following you two since we met at the Longleaf Horse Trails system and camp area in the Desoto National Forest just south of Laurel, Mississippi. I was updating all the markers for each trail when I walked by your campground. Glad Jay gave me your card and TH-cam Channel name. Have enjoyed since. Continued prayers for your son. God Bless, and keep up the great work!
Thank you Ken. I remember you well. Our son just had his kidney transplant this afternoon. It happened so fast. We're still in Florida but I'll be flying home for while to take care of him. Then flying back to help Jason with the horses. Everyone's prayers have come thru. We're trying to figure some more ways of filming our lives. LoL 😂. Take care
@@pleasureriderv Thankful to hear! Prayers for a complete healing!
@ How is your son doing?
@kenwbrenner He's doing amazing. The doctor today said all his test results are perfect. The kidney is thriving.
@ Praise God!
I love your videos! I’m wanting to do this when I’m able to get a remote job. Info on budgeting and how you boondock with horses. In depth videos on the horses and daily routines are nice. Q and As are fun. I love the true life. I also love all the between the ears footage.
We trying to remember to take the camera everywhere we go. It's putting it into a interesting story that makes sense. LoL 😂
Well considering I'm never going to go to your campgrounds as I live in Australia, I'd love to see more of your countryside, trails etc. Anything personal is good too, I've never seen the cooking vids and I thought I've seen every vid you've done. The good the bad and the ugly give it all to me. Tracey (Australia)
LoL 😂😂
Never say never. Tracey.
Really enjoy the camping & trail reviews . Also your camping and trail tips.
Thanks so much for your comments!
Well, we really enjoy your videos. Being recently retired we want to go to some of these same places and your videos give us ideas. The videos you post are great as they are. But adding in all the other activities neede to support your stays or things the add to them like local restaurants and activities and also the work and challenges encountered to live that life would be helpful. Live your channel!
Thank you for your comments. We're going to try filming more of everything. Instead of just the parks but everything that goes with it to find them
Still enjoy seeing the trails and where you go. You never know what kind of problems with the horses that you may run into, this can be educating as well as entertaining.
Like your videos. Your husband bringing hay was great. Enjoy anything that shows you all having fun or think your audience would find interesting, educational, etc. I personally, like 15-20 min videos. Just have fun, people enjoy that. The more I watch the more I learn. XO
Perfect thank you for your comments
I enjoy your videos and would like to see some of your challenges in this life style. Like what do you do when you have an RV or Trailer issue on the road. How to you find fuel, how do you decide what places to visit? How do find a farrier or vet on the road? Show us what goes into your lifestyle choice so that we are better informed of what is required if we decide to go on the road. Some of the planning along with the trail reviews would be great. Whatever you decide, it is a pleasure watching you.
Good ideas. I should start with explaining some of those issues for sure. Thank you
I just came across your channel. My husband and I are in the next 3 or 4 years planning to be full time RV living in a class A RV. I have always wanted to have a horse (I had lessons twice a week for 2 years so know basics) and as crazy as it sounds I wanted to know if it would be doable having a horse full time on the road. I,e costs, boondocking on BLM land etc since Florida doesn't appear to have any BLM according to my land map app? I haven't yet looked at all your other videos, but wanted to make this comment relevant to now since you're questioning about the future of your channel. I look forward to watching your other videos. I would love to see more of your set up and how you roll for sure. I would recommend if you're wanting an example of creating content for the kind of lifestyle you're living, Cheap RV living with Bob Wells is a great channel for inspiration. Tips on how to keep costs down too? How you visit a vet or have one come to you and costs involved? Any tips relating to costs is helpful.
Thank you for your comment. If you have any specific questions that are not covered in our videos. Send me a message on our pleasure Ride RV Facebook
I never thought to video farrier, vet and stuff like that, that is something we should start doing. I think we get so caught up in what we're doing we forget to film it. Then think after we should have. It's something to work on going forward. Thank you
I enjoy everything. Record it all
❤
I enjoy learning of places to go with horses but also like to know what's around for entertainment and shopping also. It great watching your life. Gives us ideas on what we want to do when we retire.
Thank you for your comment
I think your videos are fine just keep doing what you’re doing. If you go to a flea market film a little bit of it if you go kayaking, film, a little bit of it we would like to see Jay fall out of the kayak you don’t have to film your private life just film. Whatever when you go riding show us the views anything
Jay falling out of a kayak.? Help me, should it be shark infested or alligator. LoL
@@pleasureriderv you pick🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think you should try introducing some of your other content and see how it goes. You will get a feel for it and whether you like making the videos. I enjoy the camping and riding because that is something I do myself. Find it interesting the places you go. I also ride a motorcycle, so some Daytona footage would be good. Haven't seen much about Daytona in my travels. Love the hay wagon Jay! Way to get the job done!
Every suggestion is appreciated. Thank you
I was hoping to go to Lake Panasoffkee next weekend but it's closed for camping then due to hunting. I love camping there but I stay in the non-horse area so I'm not taking up the wide-open areas that horse campers should have. I don't have horses but I am fascinated in how you all camp & travel with all that you have, which is a LOT. So please do not end your channel! I do like seeing the places you camp but I also wouldn't mind seeing what else you do & how the animals (both dogs & horses) fare when you're away. You both are fun to watch interacting with each other - it's endearing to see a happily married couple enjoying retirement together. I hope my comments help your decision.
LoL happily married 🤣🤣 the truth might come when people see the life of Jay an Rhonda. Just kidding we get along pretty great. Every comment is appreciated, we'll see what we can come up with
I really enjoy all your videos and always look forward to the next one. My favorites are your trail rides. But will enjoy you two on anything you decide to make a video on. Love you guys ❤
Aww thank you for the boost. Your comment is appreciated
God Bless you and your family in the holiday season.
Thank you Ken. Enjoy hiking this Christmas season. Stay warm, stay safe
@@pleasureriderv Thank you so much!
Another great video ❤
Brrrrr way too cold 37d celsius where I live in Australia, we had 45 this week too. Tracey (Australia)
That's 32°F or 0° Celsius. That's a warm day in Canada in the winter, but that's why we go south. ,🤣🤣
I’ve been watching you Guys for awhile now. I think you guys are awesome
Aww thank you. We were just discussing if all the work we put into videos is worth it. Thank you for your comment
Yes it is. I’m always waiting for new video. Thank you for sharing all your travels. Me and my wife enjoy them.
Love the new updated Intro. This video ended quickly. I was like, where did you go..... Looked like some nice trails.
LoL 😂 yes we're trying to get back into the swing of filming again. Forgot to do an ending as we didn't stay as long as planned.
@@pleasureriderv yes missed you guys. good to see you back!

Hi, I am an TH-cam SEO expert. I have seen some of your videos. Your videos are good and these video can rank in youtube search. Your channel tags and video tags are not good and you didn't write your description properly. I can help you in this matter if you want.
Thank you for your comment but we just do it for fun. Not interested in making money on it. If you want to give us free pointers on my descriptions that would be great
Hey hi there great again. Trace y (Australia)
Lunch at The Story Inn is sooo good!!!
What horse boots do you use?
We have easy boot, but I like old Mac's better. Our next pair I'm thinking of getting scoot boots
Wow, the horrible, horrible “music” completely ruins this video!
Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed it
Don't worry about peeps passing....they are locals. 😉 You are in beautiful country. I lived in Brown County for several years and it was definitely a different experience. Beautiful and peaceful for sure.
We enjoyed a few of the Indiana parks.
Horse flies there in the summer are horrible 😊 great place to ride We always ride to Story for lunch 😊
I love country folks. Just don't cross them.❤
Glad to see you halter tie! I raised my daughters on those trails. Hours of nature and solitude. My youngest daughter won $12,500 a yr, renewable 4 hrs, of college tuition on her entrance essay writing that riding in the Deam Wilderess and Brown Cty taught her that everything in life can come back to something very simple. So totally paid off all the hard work for all the fun! And the rattlesnakes have killed off many a real estate deal when city folk want to buy a neat old cabin down there! Those waves of tall grass out frt is not wind! Yeah you need to see that campground when it's FULL!
I saw a big rig in the day parking lot - truck/trlr/tires covered w yellow paint - they had just freshly striped the drive into the Horseman's Camp. No way to drive those rigs thru those curves within the lines.
They let timber rattlesnakes loose in Brown County State Park
Well that would be another reason why you won't see me there in the spring summer or early fall. LoL 🤣
