I don't consider Soldier Boy a villain, I would say he is more like an anti hero but a really f*cked up one. Is he a good person? Hell no but he has a moral compass, he stands to his words and doesn't kill everyone like homelander does just because he can. He doesn what needs to be done, addresses things as they are and is not afraid of how people will react. Unlike Homelander, he actually seems to care about things and people atleast a little bit.

I didn't feel bad for Soldier Boy when he was betrayed the first time. I was happy when the Boys betrayed him at the end of season 3.

Homelander is the best hero we’ve had since Thanos. Everyone who thinks Homelander is a villain is anti-American.

I understood why they let Homelander wonder with butcher, but in real life, Butcher and Soldier would have killed Homelander, and then Butcher and Soldier Boy would have gone on his merry way. I don't believe Soldier Boy would of stuck around much more and caused many issues

It's funny. I never once saw Soldier Boy as a villain. All of his actions had some underlying justification, and if you were to point out this-or-that characteristic of his, just remember that he's existing in the universe of The Boys, not the MCU. Everybody is a moral train wreck in some way or another. He actually stands above them all in ways.

anti villain- does good things for the wrong reasons villain- does bad things for bad reasons hero-does good things for good reasons anti hero-does bad things for the right reasons

Solider boy isnt even that morally complex, he literally just follows orders, the clues in his name. So when his mission goes from kill homelader, to dont kill homelander, there is obvious confusion. Solider boy was the only one at the end to stock to the mission and became virified for it. The whole dogs of war is a undertheme too. The first ones becoming virified are the boots on the ground that take actions yo save their country.

i prefer soldier boy as a character. probably because we’ve been following homelander for multiple seasons. having a new semi antagonist was quite refreshing.

Soldier Boy’s not necessarily a villain. He’s an anti hero or an anti villain. He’s morally questionable yet but he has a moral compass however flawed that moral compass is.

Homelander is indeed one of the best villains on screen today. Anthony Starr is an absolute revelation as Homelander.

I don’t think he ever became the antagonist. He was the only one who kept the deal. He was betrayed. His anger at the boys if/when he returns will be justified.

I was 100% rooting against the boys and Homelander in that season final battle

The problem with the world of The Boys = Nazi scientists and scientists in general. They got away with it for years under the American government.

= The big fight scene turned into a Cartoon diminishes his value. Because all we see from him is that he comes off as an asshole… that’s about it. We don’t “witness” just how cruel and messed up he is, unless you mean Noir’s cartoon memory of it… when it’s in cartoon form it’s honestly laughable and just diminishes the moment because SHOULD we believe the moment was that devastating in a cute cartoon style??? Otherwise Soldier boy is just hunting his old crew and they “say” he was this evil guy. While we see Homelander laser a plane… refuse to save people on a plane… laser people… Butcher’s wife… so many victims. Soldier boy felt like a filler arc, all hyped up, led to nothing and he’s gone… to seemingly come back later??

I can't tell if the show was trying to make me root against him or not. Because if it did, THEY FAILED. He is far too likable. The attempt to make me see him as the final bad guy sat wrong with me, there was nothing satisfying about seeing him brought down. This MAY HAVE been intentional, but season 4 has so far not addressed this

Villain? I honestly cannot see any action soldier boy did as evil, he fulfilled what was asked of him till the very end, he even put hughie in his place which was very much needed, had they never betrayed SB he’d have ended two current problems

The only thing I believe that makes people a little unsure of who or who isn’t a villain is the fact that we keep getting deeper looks into all of our antagonists. We see a lot of them are victims who became villains…Homelander, Soldier Boy, Neuman, hell even Deep’s lame ass…we see the back stories or at least get little nuggets to suggest deeper emotions. The only thing still unknown….Vought…Edgar…yeah that is the big villain. Mysterious powerful unknown figures whose methods we can only guess at…definitely Vought is the Big Bad…

I think the reason he is far less evil than he was in the past is because he was tortured for forty years with no hope of escape, realizing he’s not invincible humbled him, even if he’d never, ever, ever, ever, EVER, admit it.

My suspicion is most normal people just don't get how big of a difference there is between 200mph, hypersonic, and speed of light. Most people probably intuitively think hypersonic is like 3x faster than 200mph and lightspeed is 10x faster than hypersonic. So The flash can go speed of light on a good day but if he gets a cold or something he can still get hit by a bullet.
