Here in South Florida, the climate can cause corrosion very quickly and can result in parts seizing together and ultimately cause unnecessary damage to components, especially if they are made of different materials, like aluminum frames with steel bearings or axel. "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". The way we do things may differ from the way things are done in other parts of the world, but I will always follow the methods that I am currently using for assemblies. I hope this helps. 😎👍

I will never recommend putting a motor on a bike that only has a coaster brake to stop it. The hubs in the wheels are designed to go about 12 mph....not 30 mph. My dad always said "make it stop before you make it go" and I will always agree with that. My recommendation would be to start with a bike with disc brakes. You will need to aquire a special rear wheel with a triple flange hub so that you can mount the drive sprocket on the same side as the disc brake. Of course, you can save yourself a ton of hassle by just getting an electric bike that is already set up with the proper braking system.... Either way, the answer is "yes" you can put a gas motor on the Boss Cruiser, but I don't recommend it. I hope this helps.😎

If you take the seat post out of the frame, at the bottom there is a 6mm cap bolt that you can turn counter clockwise to loosen the suspension a tiny amount. BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO LOOSEN MORE THAN 1 TURN. The cap holds a coil spring into the post and if you loosen it too much, you will find it almost impossible to put it back together if it comes out completely. These posts are not designed to have very much "travel" in the shock , so don't expect it to be very plush, but it will offer a little bit of relief over rough roads and bumps. You can always replace the post with an aftermarket post with more travel and adjustability. Cane Creek makes a few good ones, but they can be pricey. I hope this helps. 😎👍

It sounds like the axel bolt is just a little bit too tight. If you loosen the bolt 1/8 of a turn, and the noise goes away, then it was too tight. Depending on how long the noise has been happening, and if it goes away by loosening the axel bolt or not, it could indicate a bad bearing as well. The age of the bike and how often it gets maintained will also be a factor.

I have looked online for any weight capacity specs on this bike and can't find any limits from the manufacturer.... however, I did come across a few articles regarding weak rear axel issues on the older models, usually due to the pegs on the rear, along with trick riding by inexperienced riders and abusive techniques towards the bike by the rider. That being said, I believe that these bikes are well made and worth putting the effort into getting the education as to how to ride in a manner that is less abusive and more conscientious of preserving the components and structure of the bike through learning the proper ways to shift the gears and by keeping the bike properly maintained and lubricated. Without knowing your specific needs, it is hard to judge if this bike will be a good fit for you, but hopefully you have a reputable bike shop that can guide you in making the right choice in the right bike for you, and not just sell you a bike and blame you for any damage that might occur because they only wanted your money and didn't care how you rode it. I hope you get the right bike for your level of riding and not just the bike that they want to sell you. 😎👍

I don't have any repair videos yet, just basic assembly videos. I mainly create videos to train our new employees how to assemble new bikes for the showroom floor. Yes. I actually think that these bikes are much better quality than most of the ones from china. The chinese are better at mass production, but quality seems to be lacking. China also has giant bicycle graveyards all over the place from building bikes for their workers to get around with, but they can't seem to maintain them or repair them. There are several videos on youtube that expose that problem over there. Thanks for your support and please keep watching 😁👍

You can add a "stem extension " to raise the handlebars up a few inches. You may have to change a couple of cables to accommodate the new height of the controls so that turning the bars doesn't impact the brakes or gears. The other option would be a "riser handlebar" , but you may face the same issue with the cable length. Thanks for watching and I hope this helps.😁👍

@@behrbuildsbikes Id think those would be a dime a dozen, and very easy to find. Many other bikes use them aswell, like the Raleigh Detour 2 and the Manhattan Smoothie, etc. These seem to be only sold as part of the headset. The only one I can find is the BONTRAGER MH-S75A which is way over priced. No generic Chinese made ones on ebay for 2 bucks each free shipping,,,lol, Thanks for helping me figure this out.

That should fit you just fine. The seatpost is very long and the handlebar can be pitched forward to add more room to the rider compartment. The Adventure 1 also has an adjustable stem and shock absorber seatpost along with hydraulic disc brakes and rapid fire shifters. Thanks for watching. :)

Unfortunately, I haven't seen any touch up paint in a couple of years with these. I'm not sure if you can request some from Sun Bikes, but it couldn't hurt to ask. I'll look into that and get back to you tomorrow....which is monday here in south florida. 👍😁

Depending on the quality you're looking for, you could probably convert to 9/16 cranks for around $125.00 plus labor.... that would be decent quality.....you may find cheaper parts, but you get what you pay for. I would estimate about $50.00 to $75.00 for spindle and bearings ( aka "bottom bracket" ) and $ 49.99 to $69.99 for compatible crank arms with sprocket. Be sure to get a similar size sprocket so it will fit in the chainguard. 😁👍

Yes, there are conversion kits available to convert the cranks to 9/16 . It can be expensive, as you need to change the bearings and the crank arms, but it is a pretty easy conversion.👍😁
