Counting down the days until my Fast Ripper is arrives 😎 Great video. Very clear on all fronts. Have you addressed the chainring issue being talked about? Not being a drop stop.(sometimes when going through the gears the chain will come off of the sprocket) Also the stock hub, something about switching it with a profile hub. I’m new to all this. Especially a geared bicycle
We are always happy to upgrade any of the bikes we sell to meet the needs of the rider, but we generally repair the bikes with stock components unless requested by the client. I haven't heard of any reoccurring issues with the chainrings or hubs yet, but I will be looking into it, and as always, I appreciate the heads up. Thanks for watching. 😁👍
@@behrbuildsbikes Forgot to ask, why is the Mike Buff fast ripper smaller than the Big Woody? Frequently asked question every time I’m out riding with my son(him on the woody & myself on the ripper)
Very good question. We haven't had a Big Woody model in our shop, so I was not aware of a size difference. I'll ask the representative, but I doubt we'll get a decent answer. I'll do my best. Thanks for watching. 😁👍
Truing the wheel extremely tight is called "hard tuning". Generally we would want a slight bit of flex in the wheel to absorb vibrations and give a smoother ride, but a hard tune will keep the spokes from getting loose and allowing the wheel to get bent.
Good afternoon. What is the maximum weight this bike can support? I'm thinking about buying one to do some cycling, I'm old school BMX, I'm already overweight, and I worry about that. Thanks.
I have looked online for any weight capacity specs on this bike and can't find any limits from the manufacturer.... however, I did come across a few articles regarding weak rear axel issues on the older models, usually due to the pegs on the rear, along with trick riding by inexperienced riders and abusive techniques towards the bike by the rider. That being said, I believe that these bikes are well made and worth putting the effort into getting the education as to how to ride in a manner that is less abusive and more conscientious of preserving the components and structure of the bike through learning the proper ways to shift the gears and by keeping the bike properly maintained and lubricated. Without knowing your specific needs, it is hard to judge if this bike will be a good fit for you, but hopefully you have a reputable bike shop that can guide you in making the right choice in the right bike for you, and not just sell you a bike and blame you for any damage that might occur because they only wanted your money and didn't care how you rode it. I hope you get the right bike for your level of riding and not just the bike that they want to sell you. 😎👍
You may need to use "spoke dressing" to keep the spoke nipples from getting loose and letting the wheel go out of true. "Hard tuning" may also be needed if you're doing a lot of wheelies on 29er wheels. 😁👍
Great video. Thanks
You're very welcome!!! Thanks for watching and all the support!!! 😎👍
Love your tidiness and details
Thank you!!!

What is hard truing a wheel?

What "dressing" do you use, some thread lock?
Yes. DT SWISS makes a good one.
@@behrbuildsbikes Thanks!
