those race/temperature is BS im Serbian in islan of Java and i always feel cold while locals complain how hot it is.
Yay. ❤ I love you guys doing these.
The fact that Americans care about where their blood lines come from is a massive issue in america. We have to stop looking at where are ancestors came from and start only seeing are self's as Americans
Love the small talk! I tune in for your opinions in context with history. Keep up the great work!
49:14 If china hadnt supported the vietcong the us would have won out right. If the us had been more domestically committed the us would have won outright.
The first rule of orphism is you do not talk about orphism.
Change the channel name to SocialCommentary102
Oddly (unlike for other channels) your small-talk is routinely engaging. Insert a visual panel to let the impatient see where you shift to the main topic, it’ll be fine.
44:00 Read Thomas Sowell. Blacks had a LOWER rate of unmarried mothers in 1950 than Whites had. Fatherlessness has nothing to do with slavery. It's a product of modern liberalism, feminism and the welfare state. Exactly the same reasons for White and Hispanic fatherlessness.
Oh god. Once i saw and heard whatifalthist's voice i just cant. Such a weirdo
Please make a video about (giving a few options here): 1. Age of Nationalism - Post-Napoleonic Europe (1815-1914) 2. Pre-Columbian Americas 3. The Late Unifications - Italy & Germany 4. The Sick Man of Europe - Ottoman Empire 1688-1914 5. The Roman Decline - 300-650 6. (this is more for althistory) Massive Viking settlement of North America - how would that look?
No, no….go on about the Jews and communism. LMAO. Then again I don’t want you to shoot yourself in the foot
Already knew alot of this but good video
Ooooo Ancient Israel/Near East will be fascinating; where Biblical history collides with written history/archaeology!!!
Aryan invasion is just a theory, it never happened. Actually out if India theory was wgat happened.
1:00:00 the polynesians also went west and colonised Madagascar the island off mozambique which was virtually empty. Thats how the polynesian sail connected with the muslim traders and then europe.
33:00 "mexico is much dirtier" Brother i wish. Maybe the SEA cities are making an effort but trash pollution is terrible here. Not the level of india maybe but it still clogs up rivers. Until industrialization we used to wrap food in banana leaves or threaded rattan and we threw the packaging away because it would biodegrade. We still culturally havent moved on from this and jusg throw trash by the roadside. Theres no real trash organized management either unfortunately.
I think one easy way to first approach SEA societies for an American would be to look at pre Colombian mesoamerica and add to it hindu-buddhism. The animist folk religions are pretty similar, the people are similar, pre modern architecture is the same and before the ice age melt it was a big united peninsula.
Austin is a way better co host it’s great to hear some informative input
My biggest takeaway as a Singaporean, is that in the Malay Archipelago, the culture of Academia is Arabic Muslims, Politics is English Christian, and business is Chinese Buddhists. Plus the part about us caring more about affairs than alcohol, true. Swapping our official languages from Bahasa and Filipino to just English, Chinese and Arabic would actually make sense in the age of the internet, and the sooner the better, as it would give the common man an extreme edge in a globalised world.
Sun glare was the same way in Qatar as you describe Jakarta, Austin. Was there for 7 months and none of the Americans I knew, eyes adjusted by time we left. You needed sun glasses anytime you were outside.
19:30 Rudy fails to explain that 'money' is a good like any other, especially when it's in the form of precious metals. Not only could you hypothetically make a better deal trading industrial widgets or opium in exchange for silks and spices, but if you have to give them all of your precious metals you won't have enough for domestic transactions.
13:54 typical american right wing incel calling arabs more antisemitic than nazis
The Meow people, the Karen people. I think Rudyard is screwing with us 😂 PS it's Miao
My family is a mix of Spanish, Portuguese, and Basque, but most came from Mexico, so a lot native blood is mixed in and I was born and raised in dry desert heat so even though I never liked the heat my body much more easily conditioned to it like I learned I can sit in the heat of the sun for a long time and so long as I don't move and slowly rotate to warm a different part of my body allowing the other half to cool I don't sweat as much but humidity is my enemy I can barely breath when it's at its worst
love the video can you guys do explaining the ottoman empire next?? keep up the good work
I love Canada's identity being essentially not-america. Here in Oceania, new Zealand defines itself a lot as not-australia.
I've never heard of a Christian Missionary being made fun of in my entire life
Hellenistic Age pls
He already did explaining ancient greece
America at its founding was LARPing as Rome, too lol. And we're about to LARP the fall of the Roman Republic lol
You know they should go to The Philippines because right I'm here in The Philippines on vacation with my wife and her relatives because she a Filipina, I must say that it's a very modern place especially the Christmas decorations is fantastic. Also the Filipino people has more kindness than in Thailand and it has more land than Thailand especially in Manila they've the Mall of Asia which is the 1st biggest mall in Asia and the 3rd biggest mall in the world.
1:08:56 The Portuguese did not have forts in Somalia. They were defeated many times after sacking the coastal towns for over 40 years.
It takes 5 years to climatize to anything. Just saying from experience
Why don’t I get notifications. Probably bc TH-cam is comy fools. Hopefully if I spell it that way Sauron won’t see me
Day 8 of asking for a Dutch revolt video
Fascinating film. Thanks.
I would literally like to meet Rudyards sister to talk about Mao lol Rehabilitate Jiang Qing lol
there is only one god
Roman Empire: Corrupt Spanish successor empire to Roman Empire: Corrupt So... have no great expectations for the development of former Spanish colonies. Corruption is deeply ingrained in their culture which basically ruins their government and consequently stunts their economy.
Malay and Indonesian are basically the same language, certainly are mutually intelligible, but are only similar to Tagalog / Philippino and yeah all the island languages have pidgin because of commerce and isolation. it's a really interesting language area!
basically the chinese name for vietnam is "furthest south" 越南
Seeing this posted. I think about an Indonesian-new York woman I tried to be friends with, loved romantically & show my love to her in words. Only to block me YESTERDAY with no communication pre-hand.
40:21 I live in rural New Hampshire I haven’t heard anyone hit that on the head.
Keep on rambling; it's very, very interesting! Dinesh D'Souza if anyone cares.
I want to know more about how the Thai society assimilates various ethnic groups inside Thailand so fast. Like before the centralisation of the Thai state there has been Central Thais (Siamese), Northern Thais, Lao people, Khmers, Malays and various. Now they’re essentially all Thai. My grand mother born in Thailand as a daughter of Chinese immigrant (100% Chinese). She’s essentially a Thai in every aspects of her life, that’s a pretty fast assimilation.
Rudyard, I am begging you, read 'The Scythian Empire' by Christopher I. Beckwith. The Xiongnu were Scythians, the Persians under Cyrus the Great were creolized Scytho-Medes. the Scythians referred to themselves as Harya/Arya/Aria and the Silk Road was their Empire, or was at least based on being the military that protected it and collected taxes. No public historians are discussing this at all, but none of the academic reviews are debunking any of the claims that are being made.
1:12:53 Again, as a Nigerian, I can agree with you on this. There's a reason why most Anglophone countries here in Africa have a better opinion and diplomacy with the British, despite the history of colonialism. Colonialism was long happening beofre the Europeans came to Africa but the British set themselves aside by having better pokicies and more net positive impacts compared to others like the French, Arabs, local African powers etc.
51:45 As a Nigerian, i can definitely confirm this😂 It happened after colonialism ended here, and in much of Africa (except few smart countries like Botswana where their leader, Seretse Khama embraced and maintained the systems and structures the British left and improved his country) many of the elites/rulers were Marxist leaners and due to existing animosity from colonialism, many of them abandoned capitalism or free market economics for socialism and it had disastrous results. Thankfully, more of us, especially those of us from coastal sub-Saharan Africa and Southern parts of west Africa, have tribes and cultures that value trade, entrepreneurship, education and a level of openess. This has enabled us to gradually industrialize, develop and embrace more capitalism.
You should make analysis of brazil
Oh my God he took on the final boss first. You need to first understand India civilization. Chinese civilization. Since it takes influence from both of those. And the Western world. And the trends that make up colonization.
