Looks cool. I loved Faxanadu when I was a kid. I think everyone would agree that it was little rough around the edges, though. I've often considered making a "spiritual successor" type of game myself.

Some history for you: -The Japanese title is "Akumajou Dracula," the same as Castlevania 1's Japanese title. -There was a NA release afaik. I'm guessing it didn't sell particularly well. -This is the 4th game in the series after Castlevania, Vampire Killer, and Castlevania 2. While you might think this takes liberties with the formula, it's more like Castlevania 1 that the other two games. It's just... rough.

One thing that always struck me odd about Haunted Castle is the lack of Death, The Grim Reaper and Dracula's #1 follower. I like to imagine he dipped out seeing how dumb of an idea Dracula had to try an cuck the man who's canonically killed him TWICE already on his wedding day.

I'm down for any remakes of any games that make them better, especially CastleVania games. I put a few ideas out there to you via Instagram and will continue to do so within the creative borders you're talking about here and will try to always offer what I think are good ideas and support to game creators. I admit there were things abiut your Contra game that weren't my thing, but I will try and play through it none the less. I still have some curiousity abiut the demo of the CastleVania game your were wirking in that had Alucard loning his cape to Trevor. I wish I still had that demo. Thank you again for that tweaked version of Simon's Quest where simin looked more like the Simon on the original game cover. Thank you again Ed.

This looks fun man. Thank you. Could you please consider Batman NES at some point? It is such a fun game but no one has ever made a good hack of it, and you making it HD and adding new features and levels or remaking it would be awesome! It's been my favorite NES game since I was a kid. Gonna look at your site for others right now. Also, do you put cheats in any of your games? My brother likes NES games too, but he can't play them very long w/out cheats to help him, haha.

Hey Ed. A bit off topic sir. I have a request. I noticed in your Contra Force game, the waterfall stage is missing a detail that could make the stage look a little better. The crevasses in which the water would come from are missing. I feel this detail would bring more depth into the stage as it looks flat without it. I feel this stage in particular could use alittle more detail as the rest look great. If you would, Please and Thank you for what you do.

I'm no expert here. But isn't it kind of illegal to sell fan made games with copyright characters you don't even own the rights to? Konami could probably sue you for this if they didn't give you permission to use their characters.

First played it at Galloping Ghost many years ago. I think the current remake improves allot. But i think that your remake sounds good just like a diffrent type of good.

Next Arcade games to remake: Willow arcade and there was a Konami arcade spin off to Rush n attack that never made it to the NES. The game is called MIA. Plays like Rush n attack but the setting is Vietnam. Great game.

I would fix Simon's walking mechanics and adjust his arms if possible. It looks like he is walking around looking for a toilet. Also I would add some of your secret rooms like you had in your CV3 remake. That was very cool.

Wiki says there are different versions of this game. "Multiple board versions exist, all of which have varying levels of difficulty. Version M is considered the most challenging, Version K and Version J are regarded as being easier to play.."

I've always wondered what the hell Konami was thinking making this version of Simon walk around like he's holding his guts and has to find a toilet, pronto style.

I was knee deep in a remake of M.U.L.E. back in the early 2000's. I had networked multiplayer working, computer AI working, random map, all the random bonuses, the map screen and zoomed in sections......etc basically 75% of the game was done.... I still have the source and it's MASSIVE. Then that Planet MULE remake came out and stole my thunder. It was a great remake and I just stopped working on it.

I want to buy all your games, as that Rygar remake, was amazing. Give me a hand, here, man. Did you update your "Privacy Policy" to not include foreign buyers? Konami already did a remake... Also dude I doubt you have rights to do this. You seem talented why not just make your own game instead of mimicking others? I mean dude can you prove you have the rights. I know I am a customer of yours, after I bought your games though my wife pointed out that she doesn't understand how you can charge for games based on an IP you do not own. Can you provide proof of permission/ownership of IP or the right to make said games and charge for them. I have no problem with you making the games but I do not understand how you can charge. I sort of regret my purchase after my wife brought this up to me. I don't want to see you get into any legal problems. Please understand this isn't really a criticism but more so, a worry that you will get into legal problem.

Examples. The SMS had a more accurate to the arcade version allowing you to play 2 characters at the same time instead of player 1 then player 2 after 1 dies then back to player 1 after 2 dies like the NES. The backgrounds were also more arcade accurate on the SMS which has a larger color palette to work with in it's graphics. The SMS wasn't about the same as the NES it was better except for sound, at least in the US. SMS had a pseudo 16 bit processor (2 8 bit in it's 1 cpu while NES had 1 8 bit in it's 1 cpu). 16 bit's in that it could handle 2 8 bit processes at 1 time while the NES could only handle 1. The SMS had a larger color palette to work with as well with more fore and back ground colors available to tap in to. You saying they looked pretty much the same is either you not having cross platform games to compare or laziness in research before making the video. What the NES had was a MUCH larger library and a larger customer base having come to America a year after the NES. At least here. I know the SMS was more popular in other countries than it was here but it's not because it was a same same comparison. The SMS was better graphics and game play wise. It was just late to the market and didn't get as many games.

to me its a good game i loved it forever will, scared me plenty as a kid but i love more f13 - let me see how u reworked it
