    I bought this bike 4 months ago and won't be giving it up any time soon. The only thing I miss is the option to reduce the charging current. Not every socket can be loaded with 3 kilowatts for hours on end, such as at campsites. I hope that this will be introduced at some point with a software update.

      Great to hear you're enjoying your DSR/X. It's an incredible bike! With regards to charging, there are aftermarket charging cables that can adjust the current. Vorsprung does one that is variable from 6A to 13A. Hope that helps.

    These are nice looking bikes. I had a cheap electric one before but after going on holiday for a few months, when I came back, the battery was dead. Apparently, you needed to re-charge every week or so. Would I have that problem with this bike?

    • @jmelectrobikes1650
      @jmelectrobikes1650 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your comment. No, you wouldn't have the same issue with our electric motorbikes. If they are charged to at least 80% they will be fine to leave for a few months if required. It will depend on the model as to how long it would take to naturally discharge due to things like alarm systems, GPS units, or temperature, but generally you would see only a couple of percent drop per week. Something else to consider is having the bike connected to a smart plug which turns on for an hour every couple of weeks to maintain the battery.

      Range is vary similar between 50 and 60 miles for both. The CR6 Pro has the better top speed at 68mph over the standard CR6 at 55mph. Unfortunately the Pro was only a limited edition and is no longer available in the UK.

    Thanks for the video - very informative for people like me who are considering a change from an ICE bike to electric. Unless I'm missing something there does seem to be a big gap in the range of bikes that are available. At the one end, there's the Horwin CR6 and Super Soco TC, which are just about affordable (for me), but somewhat smaller and with much less range than the ICE bikes I'm used to. At the other end of the scale there's the models by Zero and Energica, which have a decent range but are priced way over my budget. Do you know if there are any models in between these 2 extremes on their way, or already available?

    I suppose a lot of push bike manufacturers have gone into the motorcycle market and that is why they leave the brakes at the handlebars. I'm sure it can't cost a much different price to put it at the right foot and do away with the longer pipework. It makes much more sense to motorcycle riders.

Great seeing you today, I’m sold on the CR6 or CR6 pro now, not sure which one mind, I’m thinking the slightly higher speed and range (although slight) might help with my commute on national roads 30mins each way with charging at both ends. I wish they did a black on black frame but alas they do not, might have to go for the white like in this with black frame and change the white plastic to gloss black, then maybe add the black rear rails from the pro 🤔 it would be truly perfect then!

    • @CyberlightFG

      That wouldn't fit. The whole middle part is just battery. There is actually no option with higher range. The bigger ones do have more range, but much more power, too. That adds up to the price very quickly. You will need a full motorcycle license for heavy bikes, too.

    So can you start off in 5th gear?

    • @jmelectrobikes1650
      @jmelectrobikes1650 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the motor has enough torque to easily pull away in 5th gear, but that will put additional stress on the gearbox if done repeatably so we wouldn't advise using it in that way as a standard way to ride. However, It is nice for those occasions where you don't want to worry about gears and essentially use the bike as a twist and go! 3rd gear is the sweet spot for that.

    Hiya... do ye think that horwin will provide cr6 bikes with the ability to upgrade batteries etc once new tech comes along?. Oh BTW how tall are you.. trying to get an idea of how big the bike is.. thanks 4 a good review

    • @jmelectrobikes1650
      @jmelectrobikes1650 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thanks for your comment. With regards to battery upgrades, It is possible that in future you will be able to replace the battery when new tech is released. All batteries are physically removable from the frame so that could be an option. I would imagine it would be an aftermarket upgrade though, rather than something that Horwin would offer directly from themselves. My height is 5'9". The CR6 is a similar size to something like a Triumph Bonneville.

  • @highheels200
    @highheels200 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'd rather have the cr6 pro but without the gearbox and have an integrated charger. Native level 2 charging as well please 🙂, this could be the missing link between the cr6/super soco and the zero range. The Evoke classic bikes look interesting, do you stock those? Can't seem to find a UK supplier... Thanks for the overview, not many out there for the pro 👍

    • @jmelectrobikes1650
      @jmelectrobikes1650 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Thanks for your comment. The gearbox is definitely a marmite subject. It works well for those that like the interaction of changing gear, but it's not necessarily a requirement on electric motorbikes. The main reason the chargers are 3-pin only is to keep costs down so they are obtainable for daily commuters, and that commutes are generally less than 10 miles, so being able to "slow" charge over night makes good sense. Price of this tech will come down so I'm sure we'll see more of it being available on more affordable bikes in future. No, we don't deal with Evoke. We haven't had a chance to see or ride one to see what they're like, and supply in to the UK doesn't seem to have started as yet.
