The main difference is the shape. One is slim and tall, the other is short and bulky. The other difference is the power range and battery capacity. Feedback from users of both types are good. Most prefer the looks of one over the other or the space requirements to store or transport the units. Decide on the power requirements and how long you need the battery to last, to see which model is best for your needs.

Yes, the voltage is the same. And yes, you can connect your solar charging cable without a charge controller. If you want, you can get the connector like mine. Link in the description. I paid rm 5.00 for it.

If it can be directly connect with 18v solar panel, why did you still use connector(12.6v)?.. are there any disadvantages when using 18v directly to vanpa power station?

@@msbschannel7509 the power station has a built-in charge controller that allows direct connection to the solar. The added connecter just gives me added confidence as I am so used to having a charge controller in my other DIY solar systems.

Anyway, you still have to get a connector jack

It's not what I say but rather, it's what the manufacturer says. I do not want to contradict them and then have anyone follow and damage their equipment. If anyone wants to try it, then they can do it at their own risk. We did the review to let everyone know there was an item that was useful and within budget, that could perform the benefits we highlighted. No worries, I get you. It does not make sense that you can ot charge and use the power station at the same time when most of the other brands can do so. When we were looking for a solar power station, we had 3 main points in mind. The unit had to be light and compact, the battery capacity had to be more than enough to last at least 3 days for our usage before a recharge, and it had to be affordable. As the Vanpa met with these requirements, we were willing to overlook that we couldn't charge and use it at the same time. We had about 80% charge remaining even after the 3rd day, so a recharge on a trip was not necessary.

This is an industrial fan. We like big fans with strong breeze.

Can I know how you connected the solar panel? Was it a direct connection from the solar panel or did you connect to a solar charge controller first? I tested connecting to a charge controller and it couldn't charge. But when I connected direct to the panel, it worked fine.

@@4wdadventuremalaysia Direct to the panel as instructed, but I'm not getting any indication like in your video even though I just tried charging for over an hour under direct sunlight. @@adnanabdull4h do you see a charging icon when you use the AC charger? Charging by Solar may take up to 5-6 hrs, depending on your power balance and strength of sunlight.

@@4wdadventuremalaysia I have misplaced the AC charger and intend to troubleshoot by doing and looking for the icon as what you suggest, this was also suggested by the seller. Hope to find it soon.

Hi Jessabel, sorry for the late reply. Charging from solar depends on a few factors, the wattage of your panel, the cloudiness of the sky, if the panels are shaded, and the balance of charge in your Vanpa. I charged my Vanpa in direct sunlight with 20% power remaining, starting at 9 am and it took me about 5 hours with today's conditions. It is very hot outside and I used my Dokio 100W foldable solar panel. Hope this helps.

Hi, my solar panels are 18V. And yes, according to the supplier, you can connect your solar panel directly to it. Shopee even sell Vanpa Foldable Solar panels and say that you do not need a charge controller. You can see it here invl.io/clfroqj

Hi, according to the manual, you are supposed to unplug the charger when the unit is fully charged at 100%. They did not specify an initial charge time
