Heavy Metal Diecast Video Reviews
Australia
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 12 พ.ค. 2022
Hi there. I collect diecast aircraft, tanks, cars & some figures of various scales and also love my music heavy. So, the Heavy Metal Diecast model review channel was born. Showing videos of predominately diecast metal (& some plastic/resin also) models that I have bought. In these videos I will give my own "Average Joe" opinion on them. I'm not a professional, but my view just as a bloke that collects models and if I like it or not. If that helps you in whether making the same purchase of the model, then that makes me happy to help in some way. I won't be picking too much on accuracy issues or have in-depth historic info on each model, there are tons of other cool videos made by other TH-camrs with more credible knowledge than myself. If you have enjoyed any of my videos why not throw us a like or even subscribe. Thanks for coming 😀Cheers from Australia and a big thank you to my viewers from around the world, I appreciate you spending your time here! .... So let's open a box!!!!
Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6, JG 3 Defence of the Reich 1943, Hobby Master 1:48 Diecast Model HA8752
✈️Hobby Master 1:48 Air Power Series HA8752✈️
Ofw. Alfred Surau scored his first victory on February 28, 1943 while flying Bf-109G-6 "Yellow 6" over the Eastern Front. In mid 1943 JG 3 "Udet" units returned to Germany to defend against Allied bomber attacks. Surau's first Western Front kill was a B-17 on September 3, 1943. In only 6 months Surau managed to increase his victory total to 41. He is one of the Luftwaffe's most effective but shortest lived aces because on October 14, 1943 he was shot down and died while destroying a B-17, his 45th victory
Today's example is from Hobby Master. It is 1:48th scale and made of diecast with plastic accessories. The model is of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 from Luftwaffe's 9./JG 3 Udet, as flown by Alfred Surau, Germany, September 1943.
I'd like to thank you again for taking the time to check out our video and if you found it helpful at all and can spare the time throw us a like and why not even subscribe @heavymetaldiecast

I do love the eyes on this one!!! 👀
Lindo caça! Modelo excelente.
Yeah I like this one I’m more used to the American ones then the Russian ones but very nice none the less. 👍
One of my favorite planes
Very nice, the airacobra is often overlooked by the other more famous allied fighters like the Mustang etc which is a pity , cheers again for sharing
Really nice model ,I love the 1 48th scale it's one of my favourites , thanks again for sharing
One of my favorite planes
When you are displaying the model even if stabilizers are angled you can think that the pilots are doing checks before the flight. But I'll stick with the Hobby master F18 super hornets thank you very much 😅
Haha yeah. The HM Hornet range are superb!! I'm doing a Canadian Super Hornet video at the moment. I've never personally been a huge fan of a lot of moving bits for obvious reasons, haha. Thanks for watching!!
I stumbled across mine in a small shop in Shibuya Tokyo in 2007. Very happy to add it to my collection.
Oh great find!!! Was it this version or the one with the V-1? Hopefully you got yours at a reasonable price, unlike me!! 😂😂 Thanks for watching!!
Does the figure feels fragile? Especially the joints?
Not really fragile, just bulky and doesn't move as freely as a normal Marine. For me personally though movement isn't an issue, as I just display mine in a cabinet once I set up a pose. 😁
I have a century wings F-14 model and the paint is too thick so not everything fits. Compared with my HM F-14 the HM weapons fit so much better
Century Wings, like Calibre Wings sometimes have fitment issues, but the details on them are amazing but they are pricey too. HM sacrifice's a little detail for a model that usually assembles easily and the model sits nice and solidly. Thanks for watching!!
I'm building this masterpiece now in 1:48 scale. I have a lot of work to do..
Oh man that's going to look fantastic. Hope it all goes to plan, I'm sure it will look amazing once you finish it!! Thanks for watching the video!!
@heavymetaldiecast oh yeah! It's wonderful. I wish i could send you some photos..
@@GR-vm9qb feel free to shoot me some pics through the channels email. I have had a number of viewers send me emails with questions and pics of their collections!!
Nice model I just got an RAF one for Christmas but I'm having issues with the fitting & I need help putting it together can someone help?
It should be pretty straight forward with the Hobby Master ones, what's the issue and I'll see if I can help. Also if you go to Hobby Master's website they have an area that has the instructions for every model they have released. That may help also!!!
@heavymetaldiecast oh alr thank you! I figured it out in the end but the main landing gear isn't fully in & the main fuel tank? I think it is doesn't go in the bit at all
@@Bradleygdyjh02 sometimes the parts need a light sand/file on the tabs if they are a little too big to push in easily. I generally have a rule if I can't push something in with a bit of force then it needs a light sand. I have learnt this by breaking a many ordnance while trying to push it hard in its slot, haha. But do it lightly, I give the tab a light sand test fit and if it doesn't go in, then give it a light sand again and trying again and so on until it fits. Because if you take too much off then its loose and will always drop out. I use one of my daughters old make up files, haha works a treat.
@heavymetaldiecast thank you for the tip I'll try it!
cool
Beautiful model really like the Italian markings on it , terrible tragic ending for the poor guy who flew it all the same, cheers again for sharing and a merry Christmas to you and all yours
Yes as with many servicemen from the loosing side they would end up this way, even those from the winning side would battle their own demons. I think this livery looks mint also, and a big thanks for watching and being a part of the channel. Merry Christmas mate!!!
Agree- moving bits= the pits- possibly. Floppiness and breaking off are risks. I prefer something more stable, as although flexible parts allow a nice degree of uniqueness in display after a time they can fail. And yes as a gear up guy I also fear that stand for your reasons. Regular inspections and crossed fingers are essential! BTW I noticed that the stabilizer was horizontal on the turntable- did you fix it?
Yeah I am the same, as I said I'm more than happy with getting a solid model that's nicely detailed and easy to assemble for display. The bells and whistles don't always impress me, aside from that Prowler they recently released, haha. An old Australian technique is if you swear at something long enough it will freeze in place!!...But I also pushed it in really really hard until it stopped flopping,haha...which I call the serial killer technique!! 😂😂
@@heavymetaldiecast Now there IS a phrase I never expected to hear on a diecast site lol! I'll remember that advice btw. For me even when bits can move I rarely do or risk it so a bit of a waste of time. Too many twiddly bits can make these a tad toy like as well. Its a wonder what Santa will bring you as you have a never ending stream of models to review! Not complaining- these vids make my day! Have a good un.
@@peterhewson3216 I'm a bit the same re moving parts!!! The stream will stop once the funds run out or I drop dead...I'm probably working on around 3 years or so for either reason 😂 Glad your enjoying them and getting some use from them. Was the reason I started the videos!! Have a great Christmas!!!
@@heavymetaldiecast Integral part of the life collecting you are! I am now ending themes and waiting to see what new ones emerge which I really want. Money and space are factors now. Hampden please someone soon lol!!
@@peterhewson3216 Yeah money is always a factor, these things can be so bloody expensive!!! It can be crazy at times!! Probably have as much chance a Hampden being made as you do a Westland Whirlwind, haha. Maybe Santa will surprise you 😂😂
Very nice scheme- unique variation and well finished. Stand v. tanks- the only way to have both would be to have a cradle stand as the 109E models did - but that was deemed to be very obtrusive. BTW this model is as we write, speak and post, on sale with Corgi Diecast UK for £29.99.
Yes a great finish on this one!! If they had of done the hole a fraction further back the tank would have cleared as it only hits by a few millimeters. Yeah I bought this during the Black Friday sale for around that price...it was one of the 5 models that I ordered from the Corgi that arrived in that box that had the tyre mark on it and was part crushed, like it was stowed in the wheel well of the transport plane,haha...luckily all the models were ok,haha
@@heavymetaldiecast Diecast Gods smile on you now. Have a good holiday season -straighten up and fly right|!
@@peterhewson3216 Its always good when the gods throw a smile in your direction, rather than maniacal laughter when they make something bad happen 😂😂you have a great one too mate, it shouldn't be too long between videos. As I get bored easily 😂😂
@@heavymetaldiecast Take it easy or anyway you can!
Christmas has come early seeing this gorgeous plane!!! I’m drooling right now over that paint scheme and massive spinner!!! Absolutely phenomenal stuff. Could only be better if it was in 1: 48!!
Haha well before the New Year we shall see a 1:48 109, although not in this scheme but a pretty cool one from JG 3 soooo.....keep an eye out!! (Which is also a clue to which model it is 😉)

This model is interesting, it has the italian fascist marks and it has machines guns under the wings.
This model is interesting, it has the italian fascist marks and it has machines guns under the wings.
Yeah the underwing cannons were usually for bomber interception duties from what I've read. The extra firepower being much needed to bring them down!! Thanks for watching!!
Got this one myself not long ago - really impressive
Yeah its not too bad hey!! Thanks for checking out the video!!
Love the colour scheme on this shame is not German though but would it be easy to change the markings on theses if you wanted to make it German or is it to hard to do I’m just curious?
It would probably be a little hard to do, you may as well buy one in German markings. This scheme was only for the Italian's so probably putting German markings on it may look out of place. But again its upto the individual. For me the point of grabbing this one was the fact that it wasn't in German markings, haha.
Your video is like therapy for diehard like me
Haha I am glad they help in some way, I am a lot cheaper than seeing a professional therapist!! 😂😂. Thanks for watching!!!
How many models do you have in total? I'm just curious
Haha that's kind of like asking a woman her age!!! To be honest I have not counted yet, mainly due to lack of time but also I don't want to realise how much money I have spent on this hobby 😂😂

Modelo interessante! 👍
Certainly is, always nice to see a 109 and good to see it another countries markings too!!! Thanks for watching!!
Modelo excelente! Ótimos detalhes.
The models details were great although as you saw the moving bits can get a little loose unfortunately.
Cool, I have this scheme on a 48th Franklin Mint😊
Oh nice, that would look awesome!!!
Nice model! I like the underwing gun pods, but I wish this one and other German fighters with a centerline drop tank, came with an optional 100 or 225 kg bomb. That would make it even more interesting IMHO. Great review as always!
Yeah the underwings cannons were for bomber interception, bit of extra fire power where the drag didn't make too much difference as they weren't dog fighting fighters. Bomb ordnance only suit Jabo fighters, so with the underwing cannons it would not have carried a bomb load on this model. But I get what you mean. Would be nice to swap out some different ordnance to set them up as alternate versions. Thanks for watching!!
Great to see Corgi are doing an Italian aircraft, along with with the previous Stuka ! Even better if they started an original range of Italian aircraft rather than churning out the same old ! Just with a new paint job 😮
Totally agree. Would be good to see some proper Italian Stallions!! A Macchi C.202 Folgore or SM.79 Sparviero would be great to see made!!
Can you review some force of valor 1/32 tanks if you have or interested in? Their made of diecast but could be a little pricy now days
I do have a couple, just haven't got to open it yet. So I will get some of those done during the new year as well!! Thanks for watching!!!
One of my favorite planes
haha yes, your always on time in a 109!!! At least we finally did one that wasn't form "zee Germans"!!!😂
@ Hell yeah!!
There was an edition made for deagostini that I have in my collection with a flying bomb that gave the possibility to be attached on top of the wings but it was an exclusive for subscribed to the bombers collection as I can remember, thank you for all your nice videos, cheers from Italy
Yes you are absolutely right, I found some info on those, which are even harder to find than these ones, haha. Your lucky that you have that in your collection, well done!! Thanks for watching and being a part of the channel!!! Appreciate it!! You will be happy with today's release, it's an Italian Bf 109G-6 😁😁
