Thanks for checking out the video!! I wonder if Corgi will do one in a South African livery!! Or have they already? I will have to check!! Thanks again for dropping past the channel!!
Very beautiful plane. Although I don't know why. Just beautiful. I have one model. Unfortunately, but the quality could be better. However, I thought that recently, we don't have many manufacturers who produce good models. Everyone makes them with flaws... And in general, almost no one produces anything new. And there are still so many models missing... As always, great review...
Early model and early quality but it fills the bill. And I was thinking whilst watching this, no one seems likely to do it now. Mainly the F series of USN aircraft, Migs. You are spot on.
Honestly it would be hard for companies to make a 100% perfect model and make it affordable for the average person/collector. We just hope they can get them as close as possible and keep the pricing realistic. Thats the way I look at it. But yeah not many are doing new aircraft types!! So many Italian WW2 aircraft that could be done, as well as French and Russian WW2. You can get some done by cheap manufacturers but none of the bigger quality makers seem to be tooling up many new aircraft. They just churn out same birds with different liveries!! Calibre Wings was trying to get the S-2 Tracker and the B-58 which would be awesome, but he seems to have a lot of problems getting them into production unfortunately for us!!
@@heavymetaldiecast Calibre Wings models are good, but I don't like their price. It's too high, especially when compared to the quality. Yes, the models are not bad, but all their goodness is mainly due to the rivets. I knew about the situation with the S-2, but it's not relevant to me. It would be better to make B-2. And anyway, there are a lot of fighters
@@slizevicius Yes that's always been an issue for me too he in Oz. The Calibre Wings models are usually another $100AUD more than say a Hobby Master equivalent aircraft!! I actually was lucky enough to score 2 Su-24's for around $150 each, which for here in Australia is a good price, haha. OMG how awesome would a 1:72 B-2 be!!!!
@@heavymetaldiecast Well, the prices in Australia are really high. They are also high in Germany and Switzerland. But when I search, I find them very cheap. Sometimes it seems like I'm stealing from people... Especially if it's an HM model that's missing a part. So I order the missing parts, and it's like new. One way or another, but it's an expensive hobby of ours... And as for manufacturers, the situation has been really complicated lately. Everything that's being produced is basically old models, just in different colors. Although there are really endless models that we miss, and which collectors would definitely buy. I really wanted Dragon Wing and Gemini Aces to return to the market. That would create more competition. Of course, Panzerkampf started producing quite a few models, but as far as I've noticed, their LEGION line is just a copy of other models. At least the P-51B, as far as I can see, was copied from Gemini, and the Fw-190 is a pure Amercom model. Although very nicely painted. And the B-2, that would be nice to have in the collection. It would be better if HM made it. After all, their F-22 and F-117 are simply great...
I got it at a reasonable price too, yes sometimes diecast models can get crazy prices thrown on them. I just bought an Arado 234 and that was not worth it, but you just can't find them easy, haha. Sometimes you win and sometimes you pay through the nose!! The joys of our hobby!!
That is a tail bumper to avoid tail strikes. Or it could be a catcher to scoop up fish and chips or ice cream as it passed, considering how low the Bucc flew. Love this scheme and love this model and its lines, demonstrating its power. The RN version has a rotating bomb bay and that scheme too is fantastic. Now I come to think of it - all the Corgi Bucc schemes are.
Ah that makes sense, I knew there will always be someone smarter than me out there to educate me!!! Cheers for that!! I am always surprised how big these are, and to think how hairey it would be operating off a carrier in these!! Hmmm rotating bomb bay you say on the Navy version!!!....time for eBay I guess 😂😂
@heavymetaldiecast Not smart but there's a Buccaneer which taxis at Elvington I saw years ago so I remember this. Solid and built like a brick whatsit it was.
I'm also a diecast model collector I first started collecting them when I was 6 years old but I treat them properly as I do now. And funny thing is I was actually planning to get a buccaneer model exactly like😂
@@haydenyoung1276 I'm later to the diecast military side of things. Did a ton of models when I was younger, then when I was old enough to drive and drink they gave way to cars and working on them. Now I'm older and cant work on cars due to an injury I decided to get back to a hobby that would hurt my body, haha. And figured I'd been collecting diecast cars for years I'll get back into the military side too but I don't have time to build models so chose diecast and then here we are a few years later, haha. Boy I thought doing up classic cars was expensive, man some of these diecast models can really cost a lot, haha. But its a hobby we love and enjoy!!! Good luck in your hunt for a Bucky!!
At its highest point of the inflight refueling probe probably around just under 15cm. I will post a couple of pics up on the community tab for you with a measuring tape next to it shortly!!
Not 100% sure the small part by the tail hook is deployed as rail strike protection. Typically of the era. MiG-19 and MiG-21 has it integrated to the large fence in the bottom right after The dielectric antenna cover. It is a tiny shock absorber with a skid plate in the end. It is so flush mounted that almost impossible to see it in photos. If you google “Tail strike protection “ you will find images. Even modern Boeing 777 have it.
Oh awesome, thanks for that information. I knew I could count on having smart subscribers watching!!! Appreciate it!! Thanks for checking out the video too!!

One of my all time favorite jets and I'm glad the South African Airforce was smart enough to purchase Bucs. Another great video🔥🤙
