Git yourself a subscriber here mate, been waiting for a review on this
Sorry to hear about your health issues. I love watching your videos. Don’t worry about us, focus on you and get back to a state of mind and body where you feel comfortable. I can relate to a lot of what you said so thank you for sharing. Wishing you the best and hope to see you return in the future when you are ready.
"piss in a cup" now here's a trick I didn't think I want! Lol great video by the way and yes there definitely a fuller market then when I started out!
Hi Corey, thanks for your interesting review. May I ask you where can I buy the poster from a card museum (I can't read the full text) that is behind you?
The poster was a gift from about 16 years ago. I did find a site called Playingcardposters.com that looks like they may have it. It's on their site as Traditional Poster # 00P2
@@coreyharrismagic so kind, thank you!
Try farrowing with the cards face-up. I think it is due to how they are cut.
Yeah, it's due to cut, I don't like to faro face-up, it's a quirk of mine. lol. They are starting to faro a bit better though after some time
Cool. Thanks for sharing.
I would have liked timestamps or chapters or something instead of a long block. I was excited about the coins though. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for your review! It seems like Murphys is currently re-releasing many old recordings. Which is good, since there's a lot of gold in them. Personally, I did not know David Roth up until I saw the release. The only small downside I see: I wish they would add to the description that the recordings are "old". Nothing wrong with a rerelease, but the trailer makes it look like it's a current recording.
I think the assumption is that everyone knows who David Roth is, it's like Daryl or Michael Ammar. I think a lot of times magic companies forget that magic has changed and how people learn, the barrier to entry is almost non existent now days and people coming into magic aren't studying or getting mentors like they did when I was coming up. So I do agree, they should advise that these are re-releases and remastered versions of the old videos.
i said the same thing in a review on alakazam. Despite D. Roth having passed away, they still could have mentioned there would be ZERO new videos. Many companies have had younger magicians perform the same material and explain the same information, in newer recordings in situatutions like this, and i think most will PRESUME the same would happen here. At the very least i expected more recent videos of D. Roth, rather than the original 80s or 90s videos.🤷🏽♂️ HOWEVER, for the 411 and the coins thw price is GREAT. I purchased this for my son to begin coin magic. I agree these are the best replicas ive seen, as well and have been performing for 40 years. Hopefully, they will put out the gaff coins like he suggested on here. Very good review, oh and a nice touch, all of my replicas had the same dates on them...which i appreciate for transpo effects. i too give this a 5/5 or 10/10, DESPITE the old video footage.
Right into the magic junk drawer lol
Bikes are just cheap. I essentially murder a deck at every gig! Not going to do that to my sexy 1914 Providence decks :D
Great review. I’ve been waiting to hear some honest feed back. Thank u!
The 1914 remade the Orphic, slightly bigger, softer leather and lined the interior with felt/velvet; the same price just improved. See Chris Edwards's review.
I use bikes because that's what most pros use... it's cheap and great for what you need if you actually perform at gigs.... anyone that blames the cards for their lack of skill is truly misguided.....
I've accidentally spent gaffed coins before. It's very frustrating. I really should organise myself better.
I can understand it happening more in countries other than the US or people that use Quarter gaffs I guess. All my stuff is old silver and half dollar size or dollar size, so it would have to be a complete lack of me looking at my coins for me to accidentally spend them.
@@coreyharrismagic My problem is that I prefer to use gaffed coins that look like the regular coins I would normally have in my pocket. It makes them too easy to get mixed up.
Hi Corey, it's great to have you back! Your friend, David
Hey, thanks
Had my eye on the brick color prediction. Thanks for the first impressions. :)
I think it truly is a great little effect, just the production quality is bad for me. I might try to make my own gimmick for this, because I do think it should be preformed. I just really wish ad copies would say if there are 3d printed parts involved, because I would be staying away from those personally

Hi Corey, you mentioned that you love utility devices. Which devices do you like? Also, which card index is the one you you use the most?
Are you a professional or just a guy who thinks packing around a bunch of crap will compensate for not having a personality? ( personally I need all the help I can get)😅 I find borrowing a coin from someone else is the best for showing people magic. - They won’t lend you the coin unless they want to actually see the magic. If I’m going to a place where I know might see people who might want to see something I SOMETIMES bring a pack of cards or some coins of my own.
I don't do magic for a living, I like stability and hate doing things I love as a job. lol. But I do private shows occasionally. I don't like to fill my pockets with stuff, but I like being ready if need be. Mostly if I am out eating or riding in a car I like play around with cards. I've also carried stuff with me since like 2008, so it's just the norm at this point for me. If I don't have anything on me, I like to do magic with sugar packets at bars and restaurants.
Great review. I like your easygoing approach and honesty.
Great review :)
Great review, Corey! Crazy how divisive a release it’s been. I think you’re right about hype not necessarily always coming from the creators but sometimes the community - Similar to Christian’s Enigma release. It sucks that some people have had quality issues, but I can see why it could happen. I don’t know if I just got lucky but mine has held up really well after about half a year or so. Maybe it was an earlier batch/glue I had? Really glad you liked the tiny, little part I added. Hope the eBook was okay to read. I tried to make it so it’d be okay to read on any size device. I’ve been working on some more stuff using that system and trying to get it the best it can be. Would love to hear if you end up trying it. I have a blast with it!
There are far better indexes to use.
That can be said about so many things in magic. What are your favorite indexes?
@@coreyharrismagic two are my favorites 1 is echo by George Tait and search engine by me.
Which other indexes are worth considering?
Great review! Very helpful and balanced, good work mate!
Thank you, I appreciate you checking out the video.
AUDIO is NOT AUDIBLE
I found a magician I wanted to learn the style of and watched the free TH-cam tutorials...but then subscribed to his patreon and learned the real work...TH-cam is great for piquing interest maybe, but I believe tuition isn't free for anything.
Hi Corey, hope things get better! Keeping you on my thoughts and prayers! Your friend, David
Man do I relate to this. Thank you for being so open and honest. I’ve been feeling a similar way and when you don’t do TH-cam full time or even magic full time it can feel like a chore when you don’t feel as much passion as you once did and it does come back but things just take time. Coming home from work and just wanting to relax or spending time with family and friends, I understand! Put you first!!
🖤🖤🖤
Get well soon brother ❤
Thanks Lloyd, on top of everything part of my tooth just broke off too. I'm falling apart.
New puppy has kept me busy nonstop....for three years lol... Thanks for the insights 🤘
Puppys are so much work. lol.
I just stumbled upon these EDC Episodes. I love them. Keep them up and I will continue watching :) I couldn't help but give you a quick eye brow raise (think Mr Spock) when you mentioned that your definition of a (magic) EDC are things that your carry in your pocket and not in an extra bag (please correct me if I got that wrong). For many, many years I've been carrying a small "murse" (a male purse). Even during the Pandemic (when I took a break from magic) I still carried my murse. I got tired of carrying things in my pants pockets - it was bulky, things got left behind and washed or lost, things got damaged when sat upon. In the colder months I may carry items in my jacket pocket but not a lot. In the hotter months I prefer to keep my pants pockets light. So, my murse has also become my EDC bag. I also have more than one murse and very much like the choice of shoes I wear depending on weather, mood, or destination, I will change my EDC/Murse bag. Each murse bag has a different set of magic. So the only thing that I transfer from one bag to the other is my wallet. My bag is an extension of me and if you see me without my murse then either I'm running (I am also a competitive athlete) or I just escaped from a fire - LOL. The only magical-related items I carry outside of my murse is my Ring (it's my Wedding Ring and I use it for Ring and String and Rubber Band effects), a string around right wrist (Ring and String), and rubber bands (several rubber band effects). Even my phone goes in my bag (unless I am wearing a jacket). I am mainly a street/parlour performer. I rarely perform for anyone at a moments notice. I 99% of the time I perform when I know I may be performing and when I do perform 95% of the time it turns into a short multi-effect/phase show. I've never been a fan of short "one-off" effects. So, what do you think? Would you expand your definition of EDC to include those who carry everyday bags? And what about female magician? A lot of women clothing have no pockets. My Two Cents (and a half) - TEO 😄
Thanks for checking out the video. I think where my strict definition comes from is just seeing people with giant backpacks full of magic that is their EDC. It's the equivalent of someone new to gigging going with 40 tricks to a walk around gig. I also sometimes carry around a small bag myself, put it rarely has a ton of stuff in it. I think if the contents of the bag magic wise still come in at a lower number it's can be forgiven and looked past. It is when that little bag is stuff full of things that honestly will never be preformed where the line in my opinion should be drawn. So yes, I am willing to expand to a small purse as long as it is not over flowing with magic. Because at the end of the day, what we carry should be things that we expect to have use for in the world when we are out.
@@coreyharrismagic Thank you Corey for your reply. I 100% agree with you. I was like that when I started decades ago (tipping my age - lol). I would also like to comment on the EDC with the Rubiks cube. There was a time (in the 80's) that I carried around a Rubiks cube everywhere (yeah, even in the classroom). I can imagine that person may be someone who loves to carry a Rubiks cube - even if they weren't doing magic. I have started carrying around a book with me because I love to read. I will bring a book with me that I can read (when waiting for my daughter to shop for example) but at the same time, I can use that book for a book test. I like to have my hands and pockets as empty and free as possible. One day I will send you a picture of me wearing my kilt and sporran. Then my sporran becomes my EDC bag. Look Ma! No Pants - LOL 😄
Love this! Mon-key, ignition, some split coins... I seem to switch out every month or so with new stuff... But the constant is monkey!
I have Mon-key and really need to start carrying it with me. I need to find the sweet spot for the reset on mine though. I also really like Pennrose Pendant for a nice quick trick to do.
@@coreyharrismagic Monkey is so easy to reset, not much to it
@@magiccorner2019 mine has been a bit knacky to reset.
@@coreyharrismagic I'll send you a quick video of how to do it
Nice to see what other people carry. Nice video!
Thanks. I love EDC and Magic EDC. It's always interesting to see what people are carrying around with them.
great update Corey, you have the perfect voice for mentalism, just like Eugene Burger.
Thanks Mike! Also you are not the first person to say that about my voice. Maybe I need to go full into mentalism. haha.
Great review, I picked this one up, I'll be printing my own receipts or possibly just going to stores and buying exactly what I need for each receipt but that might take forever
Thanks! Yeah, I definitely want to try my hand at making my own receipts and with stores around my area. I think the logos could pose the biggest obstacle.
Do you have misspelled tostitos too on Costco receipts? I have mine US version
Yeah, I didn't notice that before. and on the Safeway receipt it is Dijono's pizza. lol. Oh well.
th-cam.com/video/PJQFO4OKkcc/w-d-xo.html
personally I love packaging. I like displaying it on my shelf and it is always funny when people come to my house and are like "what is little door". I also think the companies do it because it makes you value the trick more. A great example of that is self tying shoelaces. what you get cost about $2 to make but because of the box it feels worth it.
Packaging matters little. The product has to be packaged enough so I know the items are unlikely to be damaged. I expect better packaging on more costly things also. On the cheap things, I don't care. I have seen sponge balls that were way over packed. A simple bag with a divider to keep colors or gimmicks separated are fine.
Yeah, I know some companies for digital only products still send out a card to redeem and that card is in a fancy box for the trick and then sent off. That is stupid. Digital should always be immediate access. I like things to look nice. If I am ordering from one of the big online shops, I want packaging to be nice, especially since i know the cost of each trick has that figured into it. That was my big problem with the Quantum deck, the packaging was super nice and intricate, but when Vanishing made their own, you got a deck of cards with a cheaply printed sleeve.
@@coreyharrismagic I agree digital should be instant.
Thank you Corey for your kind words!! Means a lot to me :-) Like you said, Genie is bringing in more amazing stuff..
I really like it too, can't go wrong with Shameer's apps. The input method for QR Genie is great🔥
Completely agree. Everything is always so well thought out and solid.
Amazing review. From Thailand 🇹🇭, same as Patrick😊.
Nice!❤
Corey, you’re an absolute gentleman. Thanks for not roasting my EDC to Hell and back 😂 Really fun video!
Haha, One day I'll have to have one of these with a WTF item in it just to go all crazy about it.
You actually say my name better then Lloyd🤣 I know I have a lot of decks but two of them is in my bag And flite did broke but I glued it and it is fine
Well if I can do something better than Lloyd, that makes me happy. lol
@@coreyharrismagic At least you can't grow a better beard than me... oh wait. F*ck 😭
My edc is nexus wallet, with a double baker and some business cards, on my keychain I have Freakey and lux, the apps I use are card2phone maxim and cognito and I always carry around whatever trick I'm working on usually its a regular deck of cards that match my double backer but right now it's 4 morgan dollars
I love to have coins in my EDC. Before phone magic really became a thing, I always at the least had a set of coins on me to do something if I needed too.
Is that the double stick tape that peels off on 1 side??? If so what brand is it?? I've been looking for it forever and can never find the type that peels off
It is. I bought it on Amazon, got quite a few rolls for cheap. www.amazon.com/dp/B0B9R7FHFL?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Great ideas,I have some suggestions, maybe a stripper deck with booklet, sponge balls with napkins instead of balls but teach the same principles,,for a gaff coin dime and penny is inexpensive and has all the advantages and presentations of a scotch and soda, professors night- mare the equal unequal ropes is a classic, linking rings and a change- bag both with booklets would be plen
To work on,any kit no matter what is in it ,is only as good as the instructions ,your idea of a video link is key, maybe different magicians teaching each trick.
Yes, maybe instructions a long the lines of Easy to Master Card Miracles, Take some one that their expertise is the items that they would be talking about. That way you would get exposure to more magicians and different teaching styles along the way.
