Thanks for your review! It seems like Murphys is currently re-releasing many old recordings. Which is good, since there's a lot of gold in them. Personally, I did not know David Roth up until I saw the release. The only small downside I see: I wish they would add to the description that the recordings are "old". Nothing wrong with a rerelease, but the trailer makes it look like it's a current recording.
I think the assumption is that everyone knows who David Roth is, it's like Daryl or Michael Ammar. I think a lot of times magic companies forget that magic has changed and how people learn, the barrier to entry is almost non existent now days and people coming into magic aren't studying or getting mentors like they did when I was coming up. So I do agree, they should advise that these are re-releases and remastered versions of the old videos.
i said the same thing in a review on alakazam. Despite D. Roth having passed away, they still could have mentioned there would be ZERO new videos. Many companies have had younger magicians perform the same material and explain the same information, in newer recordings in situatutions like this, and i think most will PRESUME the same would happen here. At the very least i expected more recent videos of D. Roth, rather than the original 80s or 90s videos.🤷🏽♂️
HOWEVER, for the 411 and the coins thw price is GREAT. I purchased this for my son to begin coin magic. I agree these are the best replicas ive seen, as well and have been performing for 40 years. Hopefully, they will put out the gaff coins like he suggested on here. Very good review, oh and a nice touch, all of my replicas had the same dates on them...which i appreciate for transpo effects.
i too give this a 5/5 or 10/10, DESPITE the old video footage.
I would have liked timestamps or chapters or something instead of a long block.
I was excited about the coins though.
Keep up the great work.
Hi Corey, thanks for your interesting review. May I ask you where can I buy the poster from a card museum (I can't read the full text) that is behind you?
The poster was a gift from about 16 years ago. I did find a site called Playingcardposters.com that looks like they may have it. It's on their site as Traditional Poster # 00P2
@@coreyharrismagic so kind, thank you!
