So in my experience you can minimise the whole firing client problem by making your initial sales call more focused on disqualifying prospects rather than qualifying

Great video, anybody who is an actor, singer, filmmaker, writer of any type or any other creative individual who has to have a "day job" or "survival" job needs to follow these rules including firing a client even if it means firing half of Hollywood and threatening to go to a competing studio or production company if they fail to see the value. In addition your first ideal client or customer needs to be an investor, film financier, and/or executive, not fans of your work (that comes after you fall in love with your initial ideal client). What are THEIR needs and how can you meet them? Don't be afraid to charge six to seven figures for the privilege of doing business with you. Million dollar fees are not just limited to A-list celebrities and well known writers and directors. In a free enterprise society a there's a thing called freedom of pricing which doctors and lawyers most certainly exercise and honestly creatives should do the same thing. Plus doctors and lawyers don't have managers or agents. Creative also need to surround themselves with business archetypes of manager/leader and entrepreneur.

Lofty approaches. That first client goal is unrealistic, and ‘creatives’ need to be extremely careful with who they surround themselves with.

@@PallasAndDove “Unrealistic”-is it unrealistic for lawyers to charge three figures an hour right out of law school? Is it unrealistic for doctors to require whatever fees they charge to do what they do? Again in a free enterprise society there is a thing called freedom of pricing where it’s either pay up or suffer. As far as who you surround yourself with-that rule applies to everyone! Hence the terms “fire a client” and add massive value; not the value you want to give the value an ideal first client is seeking

Cloe sounds far out of her element here; business topics are not her strong suit

Cloe is a master in Psychology and Tony says that business is 80% psychology and 20% skills; so we find her input to be extremely valuable. If you have more ideas or interpretations of Tony's work to bring to the table, we'd love to hear them! We have an open community and encourage constructive dialogue.
