Even if he is not the right man, he has earned the right to get another season. This season was so injury ridden that he could not coach the same 11 for 2 or 3 weeks in a row. I mean he has 1 year remaining on his contract and there are no interesting managers to sign. Why not just let him continue?
You are going to end up being relegated from the league 8th to 19 the in league and you won’t win any more trophies you will always be 8th or 10th in the league or worse
I think one issue that never really gets raised is the poor goal scoring of recent years (not just ETH). The defensive injuries have been an issue no doubt, however, the lack of goals and not buying a second striker was a major mistake. Hopefully, the new structure will have highlighted the weaknesses that need to be improved. ETH will hopefully stay but he is stubborn and may not want to relinquish certain powers i.e. player recruitment. He will always have the Anthony signing thrown in his face and possibly Mount (good player but a striker was a more important signing). Interesting times but agree with backing Ineos for now as they put their structures in place.
You said "in a functioning club" and I firmly believe that's what INEOS are creating. I love the five rules INEOs has released because they all address criticisms addressed to ETH and other managers. I firmly believe Galacticos can be really damaging to team morale because they tend to create an atmosphere of criticism and negativity. I'm actually a fan of the new INEOS club structure because it provides more stability, even when head coaches are changed. I really like this kind of modular approach because if we are failing in a certain area we can replace people without having to reset every time... I think all clubs will be using this approach in a few years time. If ETH is willing to work in INEOS's new structure then he totally should stay because IMO it addresses everything he has been criticized for.
Another prime example of Ten Hag not losing the dressing room is they fought to win the last two games of the season, against pretty decent teams, despite having an awful season
Best content I’ve watched on this channel. Great stuff 👍. ETH in. Don’t forget he also stopped the scousers this season. Thats enough for me to love him forever.
For nearly a year, we had some of the worst football in our PL history. I am not even talking about the result, but the play/tactics etc. Due to some stubbornness from Tenhag to play some players, some players underperforming and injuries. Just weeks ago we got trashed by Crystal Palace 4-1!!!!!!!!!. We had to go that low for Tenhag to stop being stubborn about some players and starting playing some others like Amad and Amrabat. Now with like 4-5 relatively positive games, we are being told, hey forget the last 9 month, focus only on the last months!!!!!!!!
What surprised me is that many if not most want ETH to stay but no one points out the fact that he has only one year left off his contract and if we want to build a long term project, the club needs to extend his contract. That is the right trajectory to go rather than telling him to stay for one more year and see how it pans out. A new contract is a show of total confidence in the manager and not adopting a wait and see how his 3rd season plays out.
I've backed him all season, my first game live was a 6 nil lose to Ipswich and 11th 11 th and 13th...by the way bailey saved 3 pens in the Ipswich game, 1 was retaken so could of been 8 nil... with Martinez, shaw and kobie not being injured you have a completely different season... I've backed him all season... and I'm genuinely looking forward to next season....it takes time to change a culture... and I like the way he handles himself
The FA cup win over City was a turning point for ETH. Before the final, I’m sure fans were split at least 60-40 in favour of him leaving. Now I believe more than 80% fans want him to stay.
Thank you very much for this Paddock.. Its painful non of the main stream media are giving us such analyses. All you hear is how you cant blame injuries, there was no style of play and a lot of rubbish... KEEP EtH
Let’s cut the nonsense do you believe ETH can win the premier league? My answer is no so I want him out. Same logic applies to our playing staff get rid of both they literally just embarrassed us this season
Yes the team was really poor at times it was painful to watch, but if a manager wins back to back trophies and is building a team with amazing young talent he deserves another season no doubt, I just hope this FA cup win is like the beginning of his success and not the end of it
I’m not sure if INEOS are quiet because they are keeping ETH or they are waiting for the euphoria of the FA cup to die down then sack him because they know they will get a backlash from the fans. They’ll probably sack him the day the Euros start.
what backlash from the fans bro? the fans watched glazers ruined the club for 10+ years and did nothing(no these once in a while "protests" do not help)

This was exceptional. We recognuse it wasnt perfect but this gives me hope. And truth is i havent been this invested in a manager since SAF. That tells me something and id be gutted if we let him go.
Genuine question, how comes you guys never did this for Utd legend Ole? He had us playing our best football since Saf. 2 consecutive seasons in the top 3. We were in 7th and a couple of points away from the top 4 when he got sacked but that seemed to not be enough for your backing. Yet he we are now 2 years on, 8th place, with a squad that needed a top manager to make this team into title challengers apparently. Backing a manager for getting 1 win in a cup to overshadow the turgid football we've seen all season is ludicrous. People using injuries as an excuse like they didn't see our squad should still be capable to win or atleast play decent football against the bottom half sides. Don't cry next season when we are languishing in mid table, out of all the cups, because the luck just ran out. We've finally got football people in the club to make "football decisions". Let them get on with it.
Agree with everything you say especially about his replacement. People are so quick to jump the gun and say get them out but who the hell would we even replace him with? If I compare Ten Hag with every manager we've been linked to tenhag is the one that gets me most excited. Not saying the others couldn't do a job and who knows, maybe they would change enough around at United to build something over the course of a few years but I just don't see it.
It's simple, it was injured players and massive changes, let all the work bare fruit. If the press wants him sacked, don't sack him, their rats. We'll do better next year if we can just get players fit for a long period.
@THETOECUTTER744 exactly , when people say "sack him" they don't back it up by saying who should replace him... the truth is they don't know who to replace him with.
Love the TH-cam comments on the latest linekar/shearer podcast. Rightfully getting torn apart by united fans and non united fans alike. INEOS have an open goal here, back the coach and carry out the mess behind the scenes that they said they would. Sacking him will put them in the bin with the glazers, and every day they are quiet makes me very worried they are gonna fumble this big time
But that is the most basic and fundamental aspect of management He got that embarrassingly wrong for 55 games this season How can you trust a manager that bad?
Feels like ineos are cutting cost all over the place pushing out as many top earners as possible. The players linked don't exactly excite. Feels an even worse transfer window than under the glazers ahead . Can't even decide if they want a new manager.
We all thinking long term now. I'm worried about shay affect changing a manager will have on the young players like mainoo, garnacho and hojland. These players respect TH and nearly all players has improved under him
Guys , yous are turning into the tories , believing in your own existence. Ten hag is not the manager to take this team to the top . Re live the season and re watch the games, tactical naivety.
Couldn’t agree more. We've seen over the last 10 years that the manager isn’t the problem. If we are finally fixing the structure, why is the maanger entirely to blame for last season?
It’s crazy that a RUMOUR has the media asking questions and spinning stories like it’s fact.. and you got lil 💩s like Simon Jordan saying the club should come out and say he’s staying.. he’s got a contract they don’t need to say anything
Every club have had challenges, Newcastle had even more injuries this season and finished above Man United, with less than half the wage budget; Spurs and Chelsea also had major injuries to their key players and they both finished ahead of United with a smaller budget. Furthermore, the real issue is after two years, ETH still has not managed to implement a style of play or system on this squad, while Howe and Postecoglu were able to implement their philosophy almost immediately upon arrival, there's nothing Ten Hag has done that suggest things will be different next season.
so nobody is questioning WHY Man Und are the team with the most injuries?! we'll just call it "unlucky"? How was ETH rotating his squad, how was he handling his substitutions, resting players, managing their days off vs training schedule, who were the training and medical staff he hired, etc... Managers have a lot to do and say wheh it comes to tge my physical condition and availabilityt of the squad.
ETH cant do shit but go back to Ole counter attacking style...he can't break teams down and im willing to predict we will struggle to score again next season
At what point does the club need to take some blame for the poor planning/ injury record. Luke Shaw horrendous injury record, Martial constantly injured, Varane know to be injury prone, lindelof has regular injuries. Was mount needed at £60m? That money could have bought some defensive cover. Why rely on unreliable/ unavailable players? The club wanted Martial (injury prone as already stated) and Greenwood (we all know the issues there) to provide cover for Hojlund. Again this shows poor planning to me. These decisions are on the club not ETH. The club had the chance to get some cover in Jan and opted not to. give ETH his final year to prove the critics wrong. Why spend more money in compensation to get rid of him, the compensation to get a new manager and coaching team? If we do how much will be left to rebuild the squad?

He just isn't. He did a number on Pep in a one off game. A game btw we nearly didn't make because ten Hag cannot close out a 3-0 lead over mid table Championship team. the revisionism of the online fanbase is embarrassing.
Let him fix it. We didn't sack fergie because he signed veron or forlan or bebe etc. We let him make his mistakes and fix them. Why do we need a manager to win a league before we can be fuckin logical? Let's just be logical.. let him fix it.
Salute Joe, well put together piece.
Up the Paddock and Up the Hag!
I've even given you a like on this video, he definitely deserves another year, said when he came 'dontt judge him for 3 summer windows' as we knew the players weren't up to it.
Said the same thing but with 3 years of good recruitment and i can say it hasnt been the case really except for martinez and hojlund really.
@@drillbit673 sorry i think i misread your reply at first, yeah so you are saying that not just 3 consecutive summer windows, they also had to be GOOD windows to count to the 3, yeah agree 100%. The new staff should finally give us a decent one (even if we are skint)
@@hullkenflo when you consider when he arrived we all said we needed to replace at least 10/12 players with better quality so when you do have injuries your not caught out completely and can still play how you want with players that suit it. Instead of having a massive drop in quality on the bench and players that just cant play how the club or manager wants to play.
An excellent assessment of the reality of the situation !
Cracking video, Joe!
I've always backed the manager, and what I've found in comment sections from ones who disagree, are platitudes they've heard on Sky Sports or read in papers.
No original thought whatsoever, so they actually end up adopting the opinions of some journalist who hates United.
And it's true we're behind the times.
Saw a preview of next seasons kit, and it's actually flares.
I watched us get over run in midfield for almost 60 games this season - all because of his insane tactics that everyone has criticized since the first game of the season
It took Sky Sports 6 months to point out what all the fans had been saying
How could you possibly support this guy
Factual information-lost 7-0 to Liverpool,6-3 to city, finished bottom of the ucl group, negative goal difference, worst finish in the premier league.
@@yingyang1008 Because I'm not a fairweather prick like you and the one below.
As Sir Alex Ferguson would say during challenging times: 'Trust the process'.
Does anyone have think we should have kept Fred? I definitely we have missed him this season.
Ask the genius tenhag. The manager who first main buying was Masson Mount, a player who barely played at Chelsea the season before for 60 millions.
No, I like Fred but realistically he wasn't a consistent performer and he just turned 30
@@tja6214 doubt our midfield would of been walked through as much as it has been this year if he was still there though. I wasn’t against him going because he isn’t world class but to let him go without replacing him with someone who could do his work was a mistake in hindsight imo.
If Fred was here I'm not sure Mainoo gets as much of a chance. They were both used in the 8 more than anything.
@@mossdar I think Mount was supposed to be that replacement for him but he's had a very unfortunate time with injuries. Like another comment said Mainoos emergence definitely alleviates our need for an 8
Excellent stuff Joe! 🙂
Spot on, Joe! We all need to back OUR manager. Just off of what he has done with our academy players, we need to trust him with time and a process.
Happy 3rd birthday Gareth, here at Thorpe Towers we've watched every single video you've uploaded so you're basically part of the household and family. Long may it continue. Great channel, great content, great guy 👊👊👊
100 % Joe.. I don't always agree, but this is spot on! He actually grew in my eyes standing up to the nasty pundits trying to put him down straight after the win! Disgusting behaviour from the media!
19 losses says he deserves the sack, uve all lost your marbles, theres not a top club in world football that would tolerate 10 games lost never mind 19! Ten Hag is not Sir Alex Ferguson!
Finally a video from you guys supporting OUR manager. Not sure it’s cos you’ve finally tapped into the feelings of the vast majority of the genuine Man Utd fans or not, but it’s great to see.
1000% agree with this. Great take Joe 👏🏽
Joe you’re a legend mate well said ❤
You nailed it Joe, I don’t understand how anyone could counter most of your arguments.

Even if he is not the right man, he has earned the right to get another season. This season was so injury ridden that he could not coach the same 11 for 2 or 3 weeks in a row. I mean he has 1 year remaining on his contract and there are no interesting managers to sign. Why not just let him continue?
1000% spot on Joe 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Well said Joe lad 👍
This is why I like Joe he’s actually really sensible his opinions are pretty level headed
Trust the process hes the right man
You are going to end up being relegated from the league 8th to 19 the in league and you won’t win any more trophies you will always be 8th or 10th in the league or worse
We were in 7th and a couple of points away from the top 4
You mean like you do forgetting his first season ?
Hmmm interesting
Yeah, I'm with you, I've never seen football that dumb, bad and unwatchable before
No idea what's wrong with these clowns that love him apparently
Some good points put across clearly here Joe … good job 👍
The most sensible United fan on TH-cam ❤❤
What surprised me is that many if not most want ETH to stay but no one points out the fact that he has only one year left off his contract and if we want to build a long term project, the club needs to extend his contract. That is the right trajectory to go rather than telling him to stay for one more year and see how it pans out. A new contract is a show of total confidence in the manager and not adopting a wait and see how his 3rd season plays out.
100% agree with everything you said Joe…✊🏼
Thank you for creating some positivity and support . Really appreciate this content. This is what fan channels are for !
Joe with the goods as always!
Great video Joe
Anybody else switch it off when he said Luke Shaw is the best left back in the world?
The FA cup win over City was a turning point for ETH. Before the final, I’m sure fans were split at least 60-40 in favour of him leaving. Now I believe more than 80% fans want him to stay.
Thomas Frank finishing 16th with Brentford is more qualified than Kompany getting to Bayern after getting Burnley relegated bottom 😂
The whole thing about football is winning trophies, or are you a closet arsenal fan who thinks finishing second is great
Where was this video months ago when ten hag was getting slatted left right and centre
Exactly. Won a cup and the awful football all season gets overlooked.
Really good comment

ETH with his FA Cup win shows what he can achieve with a fit team. I can’t see alternatives that are better than him.
This is the best manager post furgie, he has alot of attributes that is needed at United. I love this video❤
Well said Joe.
Waiting for the noise to die down before getting rid is what my 50p is on.

This was exceptional. We recognuse it wasnt perfect but this gives me hope.
And truth is i havent been this invested in a manager since SAF. That tells me something and id be gutted if we let him go.
EtH In ❤
Genuine question, how comes you guys never did this for Utd legend Ole?
Ole didn't have an Injury Crisis and Trophies
Not science
Agree with everything you say especially about his replacement. People are so quick to jump the gun and say get them out but who the hell would we even replace him with? If I compare Ten Hag with every manager we've been linked to tenhag is the one that gets me most excited. Not saying the others couldn't do a job and who knows, maybe they would change enough around at United to build something over the course of a few years but I just don't see it.
It's simple, it was injured players and massive changes, let all the work bare fruit.
If the press wants him sacked, don't sack him, their rats.
We'll do better next year if we can just get players fit for a long period.
He needs sacking. Anyone who wants otherwise is deluded
@THETOECUTTER744 exactly , when people say "sack him" they don't back it up by saying who should replace him... the truth is they don't know who to replace him with.
Spot on joe with what you said , we need to keep and back ETH , I want him as our manager and he has to learn too , In ETH we trust !!!
He will get sacked
Love the TH-cam comments on the latest linekar/shearer podcast. Rightfully getting torn apart by united fans and non united fans alike.
INEOS have an open goal here, back the coach and carry out the mess behind the scenes that they said they would. Sacking him will put them in the bin with the glazers, and every day they are quiet makes me very worried they are gonna fumble this big time
Well said
Well said Joe!
8:41 you’re also saying that Klopp and Arteta should have been sacked. Look at Liverpool’s title defence that was riddled by injuries.
I genuinely believe we will keep ETH this season and then go for McKenna next summer

I back him but he’s got to change our set up for next season.

Is the feeling every time he fielded our midfield with more space than in the milky way
Couldn’t agree more. We've seen over the last 10 years that the manager isn’t the problem. If we are finally fixing the structure, why is the maanger entirely to blame for last season?
Does he getting alll the credit for the FA cup win
It’s crazy that a RUMOUR has the media asking questions and spinning stories like it’s fact.. and you got lil 💩s like Simon Jordan saying the club should come out and say he’s staying.. he’s got a contract they don’t need to say anything
Well said Joe.. agree 💯
Chelsea had a smaller budget, smh
@@redskunk9825 They do have a smaller wage budget yes, Man United is the highest in the league.
That makes Jason Wilcox the manager. Playing style and players under his remit. Does Erik just make speeches then?
ETH can barely speak, let alone give a rousing speech
so nobody is questioning WHY Man Und are the team with the most injuries?! we'll just call it "unlucky"?
You make a great case!
