Hey man i learned how to map because of your vids! Now i have released 3 megawads, weapons pk3s and am getting high praise for my work. Thanks a million!
Dude that's awesome! I'm glad to have helped, and I'm glad the tutorials worked out for you! PM me some links to your work - I'd love to check them out!
You can also use slopes to make the mountains even more realistic instead of making them like prisms. I know its a pain do that but the result its simply amazing!
@Doomaster1999 What can I say? I love the game, I love making maps, and if I can make some tutorials to help keep the community going and growing, then I'm glad to contribute :)
1. It's 2012 so not old 2. You would still (most likely) use the same editor i.e. Doom Builder/DB2 to make maps today, and the design ideas are similarly still relevant.

Great tutorial. Made the outdoor area of my map look way better. Thanks!

Thanks man, this helped a ton! Also, I'm trying to create an outdoor area where one of the walls has to be sky too, how can I do that?
You kinda need Doom 2 textures for this. It would take a different type of detail to make Doom 1 textures look good.
doom 2 > doom 1 in most ways
I think the bottom most cliff should have been another texture.
This video is SOO old
Why is it in my recommendations
Though it's not a bad tutorial. I do use doom builder and gzdoom
Then that’s your answer hah. I am personally just getting into doom builder and I’ve found these old tutorials are helpful
@@daviddar3166 the older the video, the better it is
@@navidryanrouf441 Yep. These vids somehow are very low and high quality at the same time
