@@oisinodowd2640 I own some rental properties in the OKC area and own a Property management company that I love to do, granted covid sucks stuff slowed down but will pick up soon, But yes I built 2 of them (both not for me) first one I built was for a very good friend that does 3D design and rendering and I spent nearly 12K on his pc and then I thought why not build the ultimate pc that you'd never ever have to upgrade for like ever lol so I did, and one day my buddy came over and he saw it and had to have it I had Probably nearly 15K (in whole set up) and he offered me 17 for it and I was like you have to be stupid to not take it (sold it then the GPU shortage and new 3000's series came out) Kicked myself in the face over and over again.

@Douglaced yeah people make jokes about needing to for school or auto cad, but I've seen the rigs in some graduate or doctoral programs and goddamn it's impressive. They easily have 20k PCs doing AI, particle effect rendering, literal astrophysics, etc, etc. Not many people need this type of build but some applications do demand it.
This not are good for games, a lot of cores..but but.. a little clock for every core, because this is efficient for work, data, and another tasks, but not totally efficent for gaming, is best 8 to 32 cores with high clock in every core.

What that means is it has trouble in XMP for hitting its rated speeds. The issue is mainly present in ryzen based systems but it better just to avoid this kit and get crucial ballistix which is only a few dollars more
Remember: Threadrippers are NOT for gaming. They have a LOT of cores but each of those cores has a reduced CPU clock rate. They're designed for servers and processes engineered around multithreading. Most games aren't designed to run on 8 cores let alone 32.
Threadrippers aren't for servers. Don't have functions needed for server CPU. Its purpose is to provide calculation power of single server CPU for single workstation user. Great for engineers, scientists and VFX artists.
Work hard and you can achieve this or anything. I see this and I’m already contemplating which piece I want first. I’m guessing the motherboard first since I want the satisfaction of installing that thread ripper myself. I’m heavily into editing and creating. This PC setup would be great for me. I’ll be working this out much sooner than later. Keep up those amazing workhorses coming. I love watching these builds.
