- Another nice meet at HM interlocking in Elmhurst,ILL.Second train has the now museum piece 4160 helping out. She's doing good at Illinois Railway Museum.Hope she retains her CNW colors, but then maybe Rock Island?
To think, this was a everyday occurance back then! Makes me wish i could go back in time!
You and me both.
CN&W was a great railroad! thanks
I used to see those GP7 and 9's sitting in the tower pocket for years.
gotta love that gp7 in the middle.
Joe S that specific GP7 is a museum piece in Illinois if you didn't know
Cool action!!!
Milwaukee Road,Rock Island and Chicago& Northwestern are my favorite railroads know a lot about the Milwaukee Road Iowa and Illinois Division from Council Bluffs,Iowa to Benesenville,Illinois
This is where the CNW came out of the yard seemingly using wrong main until on the east side of Elmhurst where an interlocking allowed trains to switch over to the normal left hand operation that the CNW was famous for.
This is just west of Proviso Yard, almost next to the Tri-West tollway.
I liked this C&NW dark yellow scheme best.
Nice activity there
It is now in RI colors
Just finished restoring it back to Rock Island colors last week.
I work on the CNW for 29 years before the up took over
