    I'd rather hear Kurt Warner on Ken Wisenhut

      Warner supported him after he got fired from Tennessee. They're good friends with each other.

      kurt respects whiz a lot, only because in 2008 leinart was supposed to be going as the starter for the cardinals but he gave it to warner instead right before the regular season and that magical superbowl season came... big reason why he might only defend him... not to mention warner went undrafted and had a hard journey getting to the nfl and getting a shot with any team was a hard thing, any chance he got from a coach, he would most likely be friends with them....

      I like it when a backup who were projected to succeed a retired legendary starter, but didn't get it, gets heard too.

    I see where Matt's coming from he said he should have done more but the coach can also destroy a players confidence just look at Vince young and Jeff Fisher

    Matt, I have a friendly reminder for you. When you left Arizona, Pete Carroll came back to NFL with Seahawks and he had 2 awful seasons with downhilled Matt Hasselback and Tavaris Jackson but despite that he didn't even consider you as a player for his team. You could say Whiz was a douche but truth is you were mediocre on NFL quarterback standards, SIMPLE AS THAT!

    • @ttv_cards8133
      @ttv_cards8133 9 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Thank you, there are seriously Matt Leinart/USC fans that actually think he would've been the Cardinals future if Whisenhunt didn't "screw" him over. No joke.

    • @Yobachi2007
      @Yobachi2007 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +THEAW3SOM3BOSS3 Yeah, Kurt Warner supports him more than most people realize. Without out K. Warner as his starting QB the "Whiz" has about a 30% coaching record. Without an MVP, future hall of fame QB, Whisenhunt can do nothing. The guy is garbage as a head coach. He was only 66% even with Warner, while not great show's how bad he is in his 30% without him. Whiz is not a quarterback whisperer, Kurt Warner and great quarterbacks are Whisenhunt whisperers.

      Good thing Leinart mentioned that right at the start

    • @bossmaniacgames
      @bossmaniacgames 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +xxHGMxx as soon as caroll left for the seahawks all the qb coming out of usc were lackluster, did he put a curse or something. and plus in caroll's first season he did take the hawks to the playoffs and upset the saints in a 7-9 season that's not really awful.

    • @bossmaniacgames
      @bossmaniacgames 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +xxHGMxx dude not every former college coach can add their college players on their nfl roster there is a certain amount of players you can have on the roster before the season begins, if you mention leinart getting left by caroll, did he also not take reggie bush after he was gone from the saints and also maybe even carson palmer when he was done with the bangals or maybe even matt cassel to be his backup once he got canned as well and why did he also draft the bust aaron curry over mark sanchez, the list goes on, therefore that is an unfair argument
      the problem is, whiz is a bad coach the only reason why he did so good in AZ for a few seasons was because kurt warner emerged again and in san diego he already had a developed elite qb in philip rivers, and in Pittsburgh he got bailed out because they had a good defense under lebeau. without a developed veteran qb on his side whiz has a terrible coaching record of 24-65 from 2010-2012 and 2014-15. he can't develop qb's and protect them, look how bad he failed with mariota this year, his offense can't protect the qb very well and thats why young qb's fail with him and veteran qb's can manage this and get rid of the ball fast. whiz is a qb killer in simple terms, he should just stick to being a coordinator. he should be lucky san diego gave him another chance after the mess he put up.

    Leinart was a great QB in college - one of the best QBs ever. Not sure what happened at the NFL level other than the fact that he just didn't produce and had some untimely injuries which interfered with opportunities to produce.

    Was it Ken Whisenhunt who told Leinart to stay an extra year at USC when he could have been the top pick in 2005?

    Thank god Matt stayed another year in USC. The 49ers would still be in a longer playoff drought today and probably no Jim Harbaugh or Kyle Shanahan had Matt decided to go for the draft in 2005.

      He said he takes responsibility for his failure. It is his fault. Is it not ok for him to that his head coach was not helpful though as a young rookie?

      Aaron Andrews Um Dennis Green was the coach when he was a rookie not Whisenhunt & did you really think he could perform better than Kurt Warner haha laughable.

      Same thing in AZ, "the system works", blah blah. I felt sorry for Titans fans when Kenny got a second chance. At least he flamed out so horribly in Tennessee that he will never get another NFL HC job. Titans and Cardinals' fans pain is fans of 30 other teams gain.

  • @robertslydell6990
    @robertslydell6990 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    And he proved that Whisenhunt was wrong when he went on to have great success after leaving the Cardinals. Oh wait, nevermind. Leinart was the type of guy who would go 12-15 for 60 yards and wonder why he got chewed out. Clearly afraid to get hit. Note that none of the aforementioned is a defense of Kenny, he had plenty of his own issues but writing off the hapless Leinart was not one of them.

    This is a case of half right half wrong. It happens with a lot of players. Anyways, Leinart is right that Ken is better suited as a OC, but I would not put Leinart's failure on Ken. Ken had success with Warner but couldn't with Leinart. I think Leinart was just one of those USC guys that didn't pan out.
