- Spain dispatched of France to book their place in the Euro 2024 final. After going a goal down, Yamine Lamal put Spain level again, before Dani Olmo scored in the third consecutive match for the Spanish with what would be the winner.
France exit as their goal-shy tactics hurt them once again, as Mbappé and co. bow out with what the French captain called a “failure.”

I know the Yamal goal was the obvious highlight. But for me him stealing it of Kante was also a highlight. The main one for me was Rodri doing a very slow left footed outside foot pass into space that exactly could be gotten by Ruiz and not the French player at the end of the match. Just perfect time control.

France was horrendous this tournament. Did not look like WC runner-ups. Mbappe was also atrocious this entire tournament, he simply disappeared. I honestly feel he didn’t want to get injured before his new start with Real Madrid, so put that over his country.

He substituted his offence too early instead of going for the goal to wrap up the game. It almost cost him the game, until Merino charged in to the rescue.

Previously Giroud was super dominant for France in tournaments but football is shifting away from that play style and it hurt them here

dembele was wasting the offensive game. Spain was betting on him to do nothing. While the left side was over protected.
The first goal is dembele finding mbappe confusing the defence.
The remaining time is dembelle killing the offence on the right side.
Kante is not good offensively so he just passes the ball to dembele at the first opportunity without thinking.

Before the tournament started, the three teams that I felt were likely to make it to the finals were Spain, Germany and France.
The teams I felt could possibly make it to the final were Netherlands, Croatia and... hehhhhhhh, England. There, I said it.
