Why Spain Have The PERFECT System To Win The Euros

- Despite being largely unfancied before the tournament, Spain have swept all aside on their march to the Quarter-Finals, and now face Germany with the winner almost certain to be favourites.
But how, without their usual array of big-name stars, have they looked like Euro 2024's most accomplished team? Adam Clery looks at both the personnel and the system to show why they could go all the way.

10 England players have played more minutes than the first Spanish player in the list of ‘minutes played’ which I guess reflects the manager’s inability to properly use substitutions.
They substituted a lot in the last group match with nothing to gain or to lose…
Wow😮

Or England are trying to find form and build cohesion which will pay off in the pressure moments

Fabián Ruiz os the Best player of the tournament!
I honestly wasn’t familiar with his game
He's part of the "best player of the tournament" discussion which is heavily Spanish in orientation thus far.

Spain v Germany is basically the final - they are by the far the best two teams in the tournament, and it's a real shame they have to play each other so early. I'm not sure that home advantage is quite such a big thing for the Germans; but Nagelsmann (possibly the most tactically astute coach in the tournament) and Musiala (the one player who regularly looks like he could conjure a goal from nothing) might be the difference makers. Let's hope for a great game anyway.

If England don't win (we won't), I hope Spain wins. I hoped they would win in 2010 for the same reasons I do now. They play football how I think it should be played. None of this robotic pepball, or Southgate terroristball. Just attractive, fearless, attacking football.
Sorry for this old guy question but... do all young people now refer to teams in the singular? (Eg "I hope Spain wins")

Couldn’t be a more deserving team to win it than Spain this Euros. Hate to see them play Germany so early cause it should really be a final. But right now I’m thinking I’d be gutted to see Spain go out.
I really hate it that they are going to face Germany. Having only one of these two (form me, thus far most interesting teams to watch) continue with the tournament is such a shame.

I think that the person who loves football sees clearly that the Spanish team is the one that currently plays the best. Logically, Spain should win, but logic in single matches does not decide, the luck factor is very important. That is, I think Spain will play better than Germany, but I don't know who will win.

Not only Adam Clery and his 442 team have excellent analytical skill but what set him apart is his presentation skills.. the script is layered brilliantly and plenty of references interlinked forth and back. The speech itself every pause every strong notes really captivates the audience. Most impressive how he delivers. Best in business bar none.
If the game was played on a neutral ground, I would favor Spain beating Germany. However being the host and always being great in penalty shootout, I’d say die Mannschaft has at least a 60% winning possibility. Good luck to both teams though!

@@thebiglebrowski3695 Yeah I’m leaning towards the Spanish side (55-45) if the match is played in France or UK. Now the Germans could (probably won’t) bet on their luck in penalty shootout (Neuer is 10 years older than their counterpart and their players are overall more seasoned)

Laughed at the subtle Morata shade at the beginning, cos it's so true.
Whatever evolution Spain go through it always ends with "...and also Morata is there" lmao
Part of that is a lack of super amazing Spanish strikers, but he'll do a job for the team. Not a shining star in this team, but has actually also done some good link up play when Spain decide to skip an opponents press and just play directly to Morata. But yeah it feels like he's been there since forever.
How is Spain playing excellent football and reaching the quarters „shocking everyone“ ? And stylistically we’ve seen them play in this modified system for a good amount of time now
They hadn't been as convincing imo. But also, it is "shocking" to mainstream fans because spanish players are overall underrated when you compare them to german or english, for instance. Now everyone can see it and it's undeniable, since it's a big tournament, and they feel tactically more consistent than any previous NT coach has been able to deliver, which is to me the surprise as I had just the right amount of faith in this manager.

I have worked in data and analytics for well over a decade and this is some of the best storytelling from data I have seen. You make this effortless. Well played sir.
Spain is gonna win the Euros in convincing fashion.
Any idea if the Spanish manager had this style when he managed the younger teams or has he only done it with the first team?
Hi mate, greetings from Spain. 100% De la Fuente PLAYED WITH FAST WINGERS since the beginning with the young players. He was able to use a 4-3-3 Or a 4-2-3-1. In my opinion his style is a Tiki-Taka 2.0 because he still wants the possesion at any price. The classic tiki taka style needed a "doble pivote", a couple of deffensive midfielders as Xabi Alonso and Busquets to concentrate a vastly number of midfielders in the centre but without pure and vertical wingers and a false nine(4-5-1) De la fuente has sacrified this "doble pivote" in order to add two fast wingers(4-3-3). I am not an expert, ok? But more or less that's the big change!!!
De la Fuente It sacrifices the full-backs to be able to include two classic wingers but needs the full-backs to also be classic, Carvajal and Cucurella instead of Navas and Grimaldo who are more offensive, 2 centers instead of 3
@@javierluissantosrubio6603 Muy bien explicado!!!

Tell me what you think: 4-2-3-1 :
-Same Def (Gomes over Guehi but Konsa is fine too)
-MF Pivot is Rice and JUDE but Rice more CDM and Rice free to roam forward/box to box
-3 attacking wingers, Palmer on LW, Saka or Gordon at RW and Foden FINALLY in his proper #10 spot with Kane up top but to drop back and lay off to faster players then follow up with his great positioning to find the net/header on crosses etc
Finally. My long waited analysis of yours on Spain.

Why did this guy make a video on Spain, any time he makes a video on a team at the Euros they either lose their next game or they go out of the competition, Georgia, Scotland and even Germany played averagely against Switzerland when he made a second video about Germany. Even at the Copa America it happened, USA went out when he dropped a video. I pray it doesn't happen to Spain cox they've been brilliant. Be interesting to see if they do beat Germany they might come unstuck against their bogey team: France.
Germany should not be a push-over with more control in midfield and strong runners at their defence.
I was most impressed with The Netherlands/Holland in recent match: They seem to have it all: Defence and Attack and, tactics and dynamism and good enough subs.
England should be in the above conversation but one wonders if there's method behind Southgate's madness and QFs onwards he's going to produce Plan B: A totally different formation and line-up that was the plan from the very beginning...
In Chinese we have a saying that goes “even a powerful arrow at the end of its flight cannot pierce the silk”. They may be exhausted after playing Germany and France/Portugal in the final. It’s not really surprising if the Dutch beats them then.
