    He's the only IAF pilot who has flown all of the MiGs which has ever served us.

    The upgraded MiG29 UPG serving the IAF has no black smoke issues , its engines have changed to newer RD33 ver 3.
    IAF is now equipping it with all kinds of long range BVR, wvr armaments and even ground strike weaponry changing it to a complete multi role fighter aircraft meant for expeditionary missions.
    It is slotted to get a made in India AESA radar next with Indian BVR missiles.

    Finnish WW2 pilots said that upgrading from Buffalo's to the 109Gs was an insane leap, like from a Volvo to a Porsche, previously unknown levels of offense were unlocked in the new machine. I can imagine an upgrade from MiG-21 to MiG-29 must've felt similar.

      Not really. Both these aircrafts are Mach 2 capable. Imagine Pakistanu pilots upgraded from Supermarine Spitfires to the F-104s

      @@LeoSag-b7p Mach 2 capable describes most of the jets since their inception, Mig21 has pretty much zero bvr and it is point interceptor meanwhile early 29 has bare bones to be modern fighter bomber.
      It brings completely new dimensions of warfare.

    Amazing stories!! I have the highest respect for the IAF. The professionalism, skill, and talent they have. I've seen and listened to Sumit on another video, describing the qualities of the Mig 21. He's an amazing human being, and I could sit and listen to him all day long. Thank you very much for making this video, and sharing it. I look forward to hearing more from him again. Have a great day. 😊

      Because of love for dictatorships like Pakistan. Don't forget all the erstwhile and current dictatorships in middle east and Africa were once US allies. US starts war in the name of democracy drives only when the relationship goes south. You can't keep arming Pakistan and expect warmth from the Indians. US just a few months back approved a large package for Pakistan for F-16 maintenance and upgrade. The second main reason is control. US doesn't seek relation based on mutual respect but based on control. See like of Japan and Germany. Allies in name but almost colonies when it comes to sovereignty. US knows this will never happen with India so they side with Pakistan trying to force "good" behaviour out of India by force.

    Nothing except 5th gen can touch a mig-29 in ACM? I think that’s quite a bit overstated

    • @kpsig
      @kpsig 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      I guess he speaks of the 10 years, more or less, after the Fulcram entered service. Which was the belief amongst almost anyone at the time. In reality, it was only the big mouth F-16 and M2000 which could hold their own, with much difficulty. The F-15 really struggled, having almost no advantage over the MiG-29 to exploit.

      I have the feeling that if the late soviet/russian fed aircraft designs were built to a higher standard with more refined components, ie if they were built by western companies that actually had unlimited budgets, then this wouldn't even be a controversial statement by Mr. Mukerji. Everyone seemingly loves to talk down on eastern bloc hardware even when it isn't warranted. The newest Chinese aircraft will probably shock the US and its allies with their capabilities when and if for the same reason.

    • @dragonstormdipro1013

      Remember that Ukrainian Mig 29s are doing pretty well against Russian 4/4.5 gen fighters i.e Su34 and Su35s

    • @mikeck4609
      @mikeck4609 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah, it is over stated. Saying the mig-29 is one of the best ACM aircraft is fine….stating that nothing could touch it is overstated (like the F-16, F-18, etc)
