Marcus Colman Impaction is always a risk, although it is rare. My main concern is that it's living in a liter box.... It's definitely not the most hygienic option. Personally I use sandstone tiles, and I use a hide box with moist Eco earth.

Hey Mike! I am pretty new to reptiles and i want a lizard. I love geckos and monitors but i dont know what lizard i should go for. If i get a gecko i will get a Tokay or a Crested. I like water dragons to but i dont know what to go for :)
Yea I would go for the crested because from what I've heard tokays are pretty aggressive and need a lot of space :) hope you find the perfect lizard for you ! ;)
I seriously don't recommend getting a crested gecko. They are nocturnal and require very extensive care and you don't really get to see them. I highly recommend getting a bearded dragon they are awesome ! I have one and I love it ! They are very interactive and a great pet

Ya I can agree with that, and over the next while any and all reptiles that are needing UVB, even those that might not will hopefully be transitioned over to Linear T5HO bulbs. Arcadia is what I would like too use but honestly they are soooo impossible to find in canada that I will just use the Zoomed instead.
Can you get them shipped from lightyourreptiles.com? I just bought a quad fixture for my ambilobe. 4 bulbs (uvb, plant bulb and 2 daylight bulbs). Also has blue moonlight LEDs that I have on for an hour after the lights go off. Gives the cham some light to get nestled into it's sleeping spot. It's amazing. Has built-in timer that allows to control multiple lights separately.
do u have the lights on for the same time per day the entire year? cuz to stimulate breeding. you could simulate a winter. just let the lights burn a little less every day and start decreasing their feeding. this will help the ripening of the sperm. since they instinctively procreate in spring. i dont know is works for monitors. but it does for snakes and other lizards
i plan on getting a vail chemeleon and i was wondering if u could do a set up video and please include best items to use in the u.s also can you put a waterfall in a chemeleon enclosure

I don't think you should use sand for Striker. It can cause impaction. Awesome vid btw

Your wrong, if the husbandry is correct impaction isn't going to happen. The only substrate you should avoid is calci sand, other Sands are fine.
