yep , this happened to me on my first reva run. I had so much mana and regen that I killed her with the reflects (also had miracle which procced a few times). I looped then on then ext run I was so powerful I challenged the shopkeeper and won , then completed the run as true genocide.
Came here to say this. My first time I took Serif down with Reva's deflect and was sent to the start all over again. Second time I killed the shop keeper and built up a massive shield and one-shot Serif with a shield throw and then Yami.
Truly reminds me of the Megaman format when fighting bosses even all the way up to starforce 3 eventhough the layout was slightly different. I actually feel like trying this game out o:
As a kid I honestly discriminated against Mega Man when it took this format, so I stopped playing the franchise after ZX. Now I'm gonna give the remaining games and this a shot.
Actually, it's possible to 'beat' serif on neutral, but it's a grueling adventure in perfect god-tier dodging and loooong patience as you whittle away at her, and only if you have the wings artifact... and then she just sends you back to start over.
......I must confess myself SLIGHTLY sad that the game just game overs you if you killed even one guy (say, shiso, who's a total prick AND kinda useless if you spare him) after the otherwise EPIC Wall fight. :s (I literally came to look this up after instantly being deleted by the angel lady, so I could see what I was doing wrong, and didn't expect the answer to be so simple)
damn the alternate pacific ending actually haunted me, I mean I only run 1 true genocide to unlock solo Saffron, the rest I play pacific end but one thing is I use Naofumi mod to try pass the game, and that was a mistake at the end game, Naofumi's fury form still active and it triggers burn where the boss stand, and lead me to alternate pacific end. Her face at the end haunted me.
I'm glad I looked this up for the neutral route! I thought I was just not learning the pattern and dying right away so I couldn't beat it! Well, onto trying out the other routes!
I know that if you play as the shopkeeper, you automatically get the Yami skill for true genocide. And also she was about to send me back in time but I hit her with Yami while the white square went over my screen and I missed the extra dialogue that happens when you are obliterating her. Weird little bug there
The endings feel pretty underwhelming and lame after all the effort. I didn't know I "won" the Neutral ending until several runs later when I had checked the stats.
4:16 I beat her in neutral mode yesterday using only time slow and the artifact invincible for 1 sec when suffle (I don't remember its name) That took me about 20 mins
first ending I got was with Shiso and I got so much money (and the sera cannon I think it's called) and killed the final boss in less than 20 seconds (first time fighting the final boss too) I had like 3,500 moneys and just spammed root skills and sera cannon and obliterated her it was amazing
What isn't fun is a Gunner run focusing on Kunai with Card Thrower, Ninjutsu, and Collect Ring while playing on a Switch. I was lagging so hard I couldn't really dodge anything and only got the gate down to 22.2k.
Nice, so that's what endgame looks like! So far I'm really enjoying the game, but I can't seem to wrap my head around the deckbuilding. I feel really dumb, but I never manage to get good synergies going.
Usually try to stick to a smaller amount of cards. You dont have to take everything. I enjoy frost and flow decks but usually sticking to 1 or 2 focuses helps

I don't understand why killing the bosses is considered "Wrong." These bosses are intentionally trying to kill the protagonist. One of the boss's got me to one hp, threw a bomb at me, counted to 5, then exploded the bomb. I revived, and gave him a taste of his own medicine. Whats weird is that these bosses are also trying to get to Eden, you would think they team up with the protagonist for a better shot at that but nope, they instead attempt to kill the protagonist for no reason. When you defeat Reva she says "Wait, I need to defend my people," but then when you spare her she completely abandons her people and goes with you to Eden. What happened to "I nEEd to DeFend My PeOpLe." The only boss I would say is "Wrong to kill" is the shop keeper because she is just minding her own business until the protagonist shows up and picks a fight with her.
Well maybe because you already know all of them from dying many times but think of it as your first time. All of them wants to go to the same place as you but don't know you and are not sure if all of them Will get in. . . . Also , rarely they will spare your life and join your team
You need them in order to beat Terrable (which only happens to appear in a pacifist route, but whatever). All the other situations when Serif kills you or sends you back in time hint that she's really arrogant about people entering Eden not being merciless killers (she's very cocky, in general. Just look at the video), so it's more about Serif desires than moral decisions. As the other comment pointed out, you probably got neutral ending the first time because you didn't know you needed them all dead or all alive for the other endings. It's the same for the other characters, who live in a post apocalyptic world so it's understandable they try to kill you the same way you try to murder them because it's a game about beating enemies. Reva is probably traveling to Eden too (she can be found from the beginning all the way up to the final stage previous to Eden), so this implied inconsistency with her character has to do with its foundation rather than a special interaction (also, who says she isn't saving people on parallel with saving you). Getting to Eden will probably help her save more people (idk, getting better equipment or smth). It's honestly hard to tell what can be done in Eden since there's almost no worldbuilding but it's not that crazy to think that.
(pacifist route question) if you're playing as any other character and Reva saves you from death before the final boss fight are you just forced to lose against Terrable?

Since I play blind I have no idea how to kill the eden lady boss, she just teleport me back everytime. I died at the 3rd reset since at this point she has like 24k HP or something and deal a ton of damage.
Does anyone know the lore behind the Yami spell? It really confuses me. A god killer power in the hands of the merchant makes no sense to me without knowing the background of its creation/use. Could somebody explain?
Can't say i figured out, but i think it has something to do with the "red route" you can take in the run. If you find the shop keeper while in a red route, shopkeeper will have their red eyes thing and will be mean requesting health instead of normal health as a price. even the background is changed with this purple cristals all over the place. Maybe is something she has contracted during her travels staying close to those things. Then again i can't really say, the game doesn't explain much per se on the lore. To think about it we also don't know much about the nature of the eden and why certain people are in and other not.

Btw fun fact, i think the first time i killed shopkeeper i "dodged" the yami spell thinking it was one last trap. You know, a will-o-wisp kind of trap. I guess that can happen to?
I finally got one run finished dammm this game is hard. I cheesed alot and i had to pause and turn off in the last boss like 4 times before saffro. I got a pacifist run with reva in my 2nd time playing her. I struggled wit saffro chrono form alot but i think she helped me learn how to synergize the decks and use the shopkeeper to maximize synergy. I just did shields and used flow damage while shielding i def didnt think she was good. I still think break tile girl and shiso might be the weirdest to use. Im glad my run was pacifist even tho i wanted to kill gunner oh so badly.
Phalanx/Miseri if I wanna take it easy, stack poisons and hide behind shields. Otherwise things I like to do is Phalanx and try to get boomerang+swords that root+ping to do stupid damage. I try to get the two minnie gun cards for on hit artefacts. I like having anubis on any build tbh.
@@bomba3626 I believe that Anubis can be a bit too slow in some decks. Not to say that it would necessarily be bad, but it might be worse to have it than to just have a smaller deck of spells that all work for what you're trying to build it to do. Or if you're playing as Shiso and you want to make sure that you execute every enemy to gain as much money as possible. I do understand the appeal of Anubis though. Another card that I think is good in most decks is Firewall. The flames can deal a maximum of 140 damage, as well as the spell itself which hits for 40 I believe.
@@S0LISL0ST the chances are very low for that to happen but it's not really impossible, you just need to be very lucky and have a certain DPS deck you plan to make

I read that if you lose to Reva and are spared by her, she won't appear to help you when you're defeated, but you can still do the pacifist route. The problem here is that, when Terrable drops her IK attack, Reva won't appear there... I don't know if that's intentional, or an oversight, or...
You have 14 different difficulty modes, and plenty of unlocks (costumes/starting abilities/characters). Lots of replayability especially if you try various decks.

Having multiple endings is wasted when the only actual endings are either mass murderer, unrealistically good, or get a scat ending. The 2000s called, they want their morality system back.

Sisho is good if u save him , after resting on bonfire , next fight gives u a free artifact
As a side note, the game actually counts the neutral ending a win!

You fight Terrable still, lore reason is that Terra and Terrable split up as light and dark sides or something like that.

It says True Genocide (Reva), does it mean it has to be Reva or that it was just the case in this video?
Every character has a different ending art in true genocide. In this case I used Reva, so Reva appears in the cutscene instead of any other character.
I didnt know you could just walk out of stasis like that! That's so busted for shield bash!
I think it got fixed, it used to have a trait that would make you immune to status effects, so you'd end up immune to stasis' rooting.

Before, yes, unless you had saffron's revive. Now it was patched by the devs that you'll be saved against Terrable even if you got saved before.

I'm pretty sure the shop keeper has a secret of some kind. I don't know the lore but even in the character select the shop keeper has an evil look.
