- I'm temporarily living on the road again in my DIY truck camper, and today i'm road tripping across Oregon.
Watch next: • Living in my truck in ...
Boat Build Series: • House Boat Build Serie...
About me: I decided to jump on an opportunity to buy a school bus for $1000. After 2.5 years of building and a couple summers doing bus life, I sold the bus and began building a tiny house boat from scratch. My hope is that with a couple years of practice building under my belt, I can do a bit better of a job this time and build something that actually floats 🤞

Never know what kind of video we'll get from you next. And I like it that way. Stay wild and free!
Came for the boat videos, stayed for the Emma does whatever random shiz life throws her way every week.
I arrived during the Birbie build, and it turned out to be Emma does what Emma does. I have stayed subscribed, but hit and miss as she bounces all over the place. I like all things building, off grid, and world sailors with 60 subscriptions so hit the highlights mostly.
Emma, you’re more interesting than the bus you built, the boat you’re building, or the airplane that will probably be your next endeavor. Thank you for persevering attitude and the way you present it in your videos. If you ever need to cool off, I’m you’re biggest fan 😉😍
If you do build a plane....I have my husband's 25+ year long half built kit fox "project" in my barn....I would give a heck of a deal 😅
I am not here for the builds only but I'm here for what you do. The self-doubt, the I don't know if I can do this, to the pondering looks, to the is it screwed up to the oh that wasn't so bad I did it. I am here for the humor the adventure the never know what we are going to get. But then we get the same type of video every time. A great one that entertains, educates, and is to short. Keep doing what you do we love it.
Came for the bus, stayed for the crazy characters in this story. Good stuff.
Best vids are the Emma vids
Emma you never cease to amaze me...I love watching you figure out a problem...then jump right in and solve it
Love watching you do what you do ... Happy Trails 🙏
You are way more than just boat vids sweet pea! Just keep being you. I'm staying!
Pure Emma, educational, beautiful, and half crazy! A box of chocolates for sure! 😁😉👍👋
Started watching you for the boat videos but been slowly catching up on your bus build, you remind me so much of my daughter, she's saving up now to build up a box truck, keep doing you young lady
I found your channel last week from watching boat building videos. I love your channel & the boat you are building. I really excited in following the progress & how it turns out. Great stuff, keep up you amazing craft 🙏❤️ build the board as you like. I will still follow your channel. The boat can wait, there’s no rush.
Emma I for one enjoy all of your videos does matter what your doing bus building boat building or just ride your bike or traveling around all of videos are fun to watch. I look forward to your videos.
Your eclectic life style is great to watch. It sometimes leaves me bewildered being a person who likes order and never says that'll do. It takes all sorts to get the job done. The boat can wait till you got this adventure done.
Smart little cookie improvising the pot as a lid. I can't help but thinking your gonna make it.
jelly and cheese takes me back to 8-9 yrs old now 73 forgot how good it was thnx luv you and your boat build enjoy
Your doing a great job on your boat. Thanks for sharing. You deserve and need a break. You work very hard. Ive been in constuction for 50 years and done industrial fiberglass work that includes epoxy for a number of years.
Just rock your videos, Emma! Those that love you and what you do will be here. Love you.
Passed all the good fishing spots, and the painted hills. I seen Sisters, Redmond, Powell Butte, Prineville, Mitchell, Dayville.
Great video. You make anything you want, when you want. I might suggest that you use the back of your knuckle to test for heat, that way if it is still hot you burn the back of your hand and not your fingertips. Sandwich sounds pretty good.
Oh Emma, it was wonderful to see Central Oregon! My turf! And I’ll be driving that road east through Prineville here in a couple of weeks to see family in Baker City. I love your open, transparent videos. You’re just you and that’s perfect. Thanks for sharing whatever you’re up to!
Go Emma, you have alreasy proved you can make anyrhing you put your mind into you. It's always good to have a relaxing break
now i see why my aunt and uncle love living in Oregon all these years, they said it was beautiful there! they live outside of Eugene. luv ya emma when you get road fever, your are truly a gypsy at heart. fantastic scenery! luv your travel outfit-comfy and simple-emma is the extreme nomad!-adios gypsy,-charlie from arkansas.
As she learned, those burners are great, but for cheese toasting, less heat and more time. I keep one of them in my back of truck emergency kit along with a small power station and refrigerator.
We traveled the west coastal highways 1 and 101 from Big Sir to Washington in 2010 camping on or across from beaches and loved it, then again last year and it was as different as night and day, especially in Oregon. It no longer felt safe, and the people and employees felt more like the east coast, no longer friendly.
Your adventurous spirit in living in your DIY truck camper during the Oregon road trip is truly admirable! You bring such resourcefulness and joy to every journey, turning ordinary moments into extraordinary adventures. And I am a floating village life from Vietnam.
Dayville mercantile is one of the oldest mercantile in the country started in 1896. If you get time just turn around on route 26 follow it back to the cascade mountains. Timberline Lodge is right off route 26 can go skiing all summer till Labor Day rental equipment available in ski shop. Timberline Lodge is a USFS lodge built during the depression as a WPA project definitely worth seeing. Good luck stay safe on your adventures.
Oregon is amazing :-) Soooooooooooo many places to explore and see! 9:40 Blackberry + Cheese + Jalapenos... (What?) I guess it's like sweet/spicy (Pineapple + Ham + Jalapenos) pizza haha.

Went through your channel it's crazy seeing the start and progress of the channel, making content around the bus build, traveling in the bus and the eventual switch to something smaller, but way easier.
Have you made a video why you choose a Truck Camper vs converting a van? I guess it's more incognito, better milage.
Love watching the video about the boat but I kind of I started watching you when you started doing the school bus how many to watch your adventures
I am here for the occasional motorcycle videos. The camping an boat build are unexpected extras.
If you are in Oregon and want to see some beautiful mountains come through Idaho! You won't be let down also West Yellowstone is not that far away either and it's a fun adventure
Found you building out a bus (so am I), and found that I like whatever you do, as you as adventurist as I. So you’re stuck with me now Emma.😂
Thanks, you rock!
You better hope the inside of your house boat does not get wet while your on your road trip. Im a carpenter and if that plywood thats not fiberglassed gets any kind of extended moisture it can swell and ruin the whole build. Im sure you have it covered just dont wanna see it get ruined. Id love to see the finished product! Have fun and stay safe out there!
Some fabulous scenery on your journey Emma, enjoy the trip. ( and jump in the water next time 😊😊)
Nice! Maybe see you on the road soon here!
if you also used some distilled vinegar in a spray bottle, it cleans your dishes really well, kills bacteria also
Still here and stayin! Keep livin we love it ❤❤❤❤
I love the randomness. Been here since you began your birbie build and staying forever. Also, this may be a sad commentary on me, but it looks like you started this video with Regretlyss and Gordo at the campsite. Safe travels.
I’m not here to see build , I love to see the things you do .
At first it was to see the boat but your tours are great 👍
Wow Emma! I’ve driven the exact road you went on at the end. Thanks for keeping it subtle and low pro in your video. If you know you know…(epic backpacking in the land of the Nez Perse)
Good to see you enjoying life on the road again. Hope the stress free of driving a trusty Toyota gives you a break of the frustration of building a houseboat.
I live in the Pacific NW so I'm biased, but I think it's fair to say this part of the country has some amazing scenery.
Authentic and diverse content is the best kind of content 🤗💙
Such a beautiful area. So lucky to be driving through there.
Just stumbled across your channel via this video!
I see we might be kindred spirits… I was so all in on your drive after that “sandwich”.. I love filming and exploring roads out in the middle of nowhere! But that sandwich… uhm… it’s not something I’ve seen anyone else ever make!!!
(Maybe I’ll try one, just blackberry jam cheese and bacon..hold the hot jalapeños and Avacadi)…
The place you are at is beautiful 😍. Enjoy your time with nature be careful I will see you next time. God bless you and be safe 🫶🐼
That bird was a Pterodactyl. lol. Love your videos.
I will never leave you !!!!!!!!!!!
I had to fast forward a bit, that sandwich grossed me out.❤❤❤❤❤. To each their own.👌👌😍😍
haha ^_^ i like these little adventure videos! You're so beautiful and seems like good company, the places you go are beautiful too! Very different from Scandinavia. I was gonna nap but my attention was like, O_O whats dis whats dat haha 😂 👍 All those trees btw 🌲🌲 soo soo many trees 😆 Would build many guitars if i could :p 🤘
Супер !
Дякую вам за відео !
Get that boat done and you can get out on that lake!!
Inspired As Always Emma! Adorable and Fun!! Love Your Channel! Do WHAT You FEEL!
I came from the bus build era and will continue to stick around
Those stoves aren't bad, but be aware that they're fairly fragile. I broke off one leg and bent the burner enough that pans slid right off when it fell off the table. Other than that, they're great.
I really love your videos! And you are fearless, by the way!
Cool video, I have lived in oregon many years and do van living, I believe you were at Wallowa lake, Joseph, interprise area, I was just at bus fair also if your talking about the one in Oakridge, and the burner you just bought I've had over 4 years and heat up water to make coffee on every morning, happy travels
So, you'll keep us on the edge of our seats, waiting to see what beautiful spot you camp in next? You do seem to find some amazing places by accident. I'm gonna try your adventurous toasted blackberry, jalapeño, Monterey Jack cheese, and avocado sandwich.
18:40 On the east coast? If you paint a yellow line down the middle of that road, you've got a highway. You get pretty spoiled the further west you go and you don't have to go very far west or south to find highways that have more than one lane... Last time I was on the east coast was with two of my brothers. We'd grown up (for a while) on the east coast as kids. So it was the land that highways forgot during that road trip portion of the vacation, NY/Mass/I think we went into Vermont as well.
Awesome.❤ Have a wonderful weekend
Cool video, I've got one of those little stoves, very handy.
Wow! Just beautiful.
here for whatever your adventure is
Emma, I'm still on the fence on that sandwich, though I will admit it does look delicious I'm going to have to try for myself and give you some feed back on it. Your not going to get rid of me that easy I'm here for the entertainment. Thanks for Sharing... Happy road tripping to the coast and as always watch your six.
Berry and jalapeño love it. Sounds delicious 😋
This is so great. I had no idea I wanted to or even could build a boat. But I spend a lot of time in the wilderness as it is my main job so I need some time to catch up as far as building a boat and other things. I feel like there is going to be a community self-build houseboat meet up on an isolated lake at some point soon. Side note - ya gotta send it.
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS EMMA KEEP EM COMING
Same stove I have for my camping!
i wish i'd known about the bus fair when I had one. A drunk driver ruined mine. Be safe out there. Much love to you. I've lived this life full time, but it ended tragically. ...i'm still contemplating a boat.
You have to love someone that practices jalapeno poppers. I might try fig jam for that grill cheese sammich. It's expensive but, it's really good. I guess I'm not the jalapeno popper purist I thought I was. It's one of those things where I think there can be a lot of latitude.
Glad you are enjoying my home state. It’s pretty special! But I may be biased.😅
All I am going to say is well done! I love the mix of your videos cross , Thank-you
Love the heart glasses Emma
At 15:45, you are at my favorite place in the whole state - Wallowa Lake. And, if you did NOT drive just 1.5 miles further south, you may have just missed visiting Wallowa Lake & being able to swim in the southern end of the lake @ just north of the State’s Campground! That pull off you were attempting to swim at is one of two that sit along the east “barren” side of the lake. And, I have been at both of them - many times. The most beautiful camping places in the state is Wallowa Lake - but I’m biased. LOL
Have a fun road trip, safe travels. ❤
Dammit! I was hoping for a hair burning, eyebrow scorching whoomp from that gas stove!
I do love a good road trip, though. I can't WAIT for mine. 6 weeks and counting down.
And I use antibacterial wipes to "wash up" when camping. A small step up from paper towels. (Sadly, they don't burn as well, so you have to,pack them out.)
Never take a long road trip when you have an important boat building project…..lol….I like all your activities.
I'm only here for the bus build, I've always been honest about that. But 2 1/2? years later, I'm still here lol.
Fun and beautiful scenery.
Such a beautiful road trip.
Thanks for bringing us along.
The meal looked delish.
It’s nice to get a real re-fillable propane tank, and stop using those throw-away green ones.
Wishing you well on your travels.
They sell a little refillable 5 gallon one at REI it’s fairly small space friendly
I love what you're doing keep it up 🌹
Im stayin for Emma!
Love this girl 💛💛💛💛💛💛
Hello from Olympia, WA area. The PNW is so gorgeous! I'm just outside of the national forest here and love it!
Nice little Honda motorcycle I had a Honda rebel 2001 250 cc it was always fun to ride stay alert be careful as well have fun my tube friend 💖
Amazing ❤
*Great* to see you road-tripping!
Just one thing -- better foot-wear if you're going down steep, rocky trails! Don't want to see you get all scraped up or sprained...
The only thing I found weird about that sandwich was the shredded cheese -- I think, ideally, you'd want to use cream cheese for that. I guess you've gotta substitute for the situation sometimes though.
Thanks for taking us along through gorgeous scenic Oregon -- Luv ya!
Cheers!...from North Vancouver
Awesome video ! 🇺🇸
Show me another young woman who does what Emma has done. I’m anxious to see her finished Houseboat.
I always end up wanting to be "Mr. Fixit" for you. LOL... I know men get that way and most women hate it. Hope your trip goes well and you have fun while doing it.
olive oil stoves work great and wooden bowls and utensils take minimal upkeep and are lightweight.
Nothing can beat a practical woman, not even a whip(kidding !),,,,, In the world I see lots of gals who are "wrecked" over a broken
nails so it's a compliment when I speak of practicability = I love that you're a go-getter, strong ladies are a virtue & I can't wait to
see how your Water-World Boat comes out? Yep, you have no fear & that's an attribute I digg. Anyhoo, peace be safe out there!
Do you already know what kind of motor your gonna put on that boat? Just curious. Your doing an awesome job on it by the way! And I've been a carpenter for years. Very proud if you for accomplishing what you have so far! God bless
I would enjoy a 'time lapse' of the boat build... I think us viewers will appreciate that. totally understand on the tedious video edit of all of it... but a distanced time-lapse... would be cool
Excelente job..
like the build projects, but man that country side is awesome
Hey my home state. Enjoy your time in beautiful Oregon.
I wont unfollow. I love your videos. All way from south africa
Good video!
Bob Wells @CheapRVliving has been using one of those stoves for years. Great choice and be safe!
Nope I stick with you dear no matter what you are doing it's always adventure
