wow, i remembered i visited the house for school trip which is a gallery museum to Brett Whitely, iconic aussie artist we learnt in school way back in late 90s.
Enjoyed it very much Yan.The walk is stunning. Right amount of walk with right amount of talk,I prefer that you talk and explain what you see otherwise we would miss those plants or flowers. My 35 year old son who lived at home still just got into indoor plants in 2020,his first plant was an Monstera Adonsonii, that same year he died unexpectedly,I got into growing indoor plants for therapy, the first thing my younger son and I had to do was keep his precious Adonsonii alive. We have propagated it several times so every family member had one for a memory of my beloved son, even got 2 growing for his nephew and niece that was born after his passing! Now my house and yard are covered in plants,as my grief journey continues! So I totally can resonate with Wendy. Plants are so healing for us no matter what story we have. Keep up the good work Jan,you will never know who you might help or influence! Natalie ❤️🪴🍃🌴
Hey Natalie, thank you so much for sharing your story & I am so sorry for your loss! Good to hear plants were able to help you through your grieving journey! All the best xx
I really enjoy these types of vlogs, the amount of talking/plants is perfect! they are really chilled and relaxing to watch, look forward to the next one!
I really love these walking tours! It’s nice to see the area you live in and the plants growing in that area. It’s cold where I am from in upstate New York, USA. It is so cool to see all my “house plants” growing in peoples yards!
Love these walks with you thru Sydney. I feel I have my own personal tour guide. Don’t stop narrating along the way. I need you to keep identifying the plants. They look so different when they grow so huge. Thank you 😊.
Hi Jan. just my feedback as you asked….. please, keep making these type of videos, they inspire me soooo much. do not change anything about the way you make them, commentary and background music, it’s perfect 👍🏻 videos without your commentary would be absolutely boring even if you showed us the most beautiful plants/trees. I can’t wait to see another vlog/walk/tour. Thank you for your time 👍🏻😘😘😘
I really enjoy these walks and talks with you through Sydney. Please don't stop. I'm feeling like a tourist seeing these beautiful plants and hearing about the history. Thank you so much 🤩
This walk is good, makes me feel like im seeing real sydney, not just the nicest parts they show you on the post cards, but the street corners and all that.
Loved the tour as usual. Brett and Wendys daughter Arkie was a well known actress and a beautiful lady. She passed away from cancer. Wendys garden is lovely and tranquil and it was great to see so many people enjoying their day there.
Hahahah Brain dump. My favorite new expression. I enjoyed the mall pant tour. I often have to break up your longer videos to smaller watch times because it is hard for me to sit for an hour or more. I never really thought all that much about plants healing grief but..................... I actually got into house plants in 1970 after my first husband died. Never lost interest. With moving in my youthful years so many times even moving states from California to Idaho then flipping houses for 20 years I still had a lot of house plants, and YES I even moved yard plants. I was limited on the plant numbers. Then my second hubby died in 2016 and bam my house exploded with plants. I do not plan to move from this house. Want to go out as hubby did, feet first. I probably have too many plants dogs and cats. They all bring me joy and I hope I bring them joy. Life is good.
Jan...😍💓 WOW!.. SUCH A LOVELY TRIP!!..🥰.. I'd say, I LOVE the way how you take us along!..❤️💚.. The Trip becomes an Interesting and Exciting Moment to me.🤩.. My bonus daughter used to live in Sydney.. She's moved to Queensland but seeing your videos of all the beauty makes me feel closer to her. She's coming home next week (been 3! Years) and we can't wait!
I really enjoyed this vlog Yan! Perfect amount of talking and I loved hearing children playing in the background. Thank you for taking us along on another walk 💚
Jan, I love the format of this video, it's like taking a walk with you except I don't have to run to keep up! I hope you realize that there may be just as many people who watch your channel just because they like you, in addition to your plant content. I know that is true for me, watching this video was like a visit with a friend. There are those who will just watch the plant care content, but as you say, numbers aren't everything. I will probably never get to Sydney, so I love these walks through the city, it's stinking hot in Florida right now ( 90 to 100F) and I try not to leave my house if I can avoid it. I love the format just the way it is, I hope you don't change a thing!
There is no wrong way to share such beautiful plants and scenery. You don’t have to hustle through the tour… I’m good with a mosey along the way tour. Just a tad bit jealous, thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the walk. I like is just as it is--with you talking and stopping here and there whenever something catches your attention. That's exactly what I do on my walks😀 Plus it is a very refreshing way of discovering Sydney: the neighborhoods, the vibe, rather than just the obvious tourist traps (the Sydney Opera, etc). This is exactly what I would do if I were to visit Sydney day (fingers crossed!)
Hi Yan 💫 What a beautiful and whimsical walk. I’m such a “ Helicopter plant Mom” but seeing these that grow so stunningly in the wild without a watchful eye has made me realize that perhaps I can back off and just enjoy their beauty a little more without so much intervention. Plants truly are therapeutic and amazing. Thanks for sharing this walk with us. 🙏🏻💫
Your walks show again and again that no goal is necessary. There are so many beautiful plants along the way, you just have to look. I also like your explanations, they are not so scientifically dry, but simply show how to be amazed by the beauty of nature. I'm already looking forward to the next walk.😊🤗🌱🌳🌿
YES! Keep walking and talking! Love seeing the Sydney landscape, it's beautiful. I would love to have a tropical forest to take my walks in. And I am like you in that I have to touch all of the tree trunks and leaves. Thanks for taking us along!
I definitely like the random discussion as you do your walk. It's very genuine.....to get your numbers maybe throw in a pic of 😹 for the thumbnail. But please keep doing them !
Thank you for this walking tour. I’ve never been to Sydney and had never heard of Wendy’s Secret Garden. It’s beautiful! Keep these walking tours coming. Also, I am amazed how many plants you recognize by name 😊
I really, really like this type of video! the music in the background, you who talk to us while walking, and you make us discover Sydney! everything is perfect for me. and I will certainly never go to Sydney in my life, but thanks to you, I discover it. Thank you 1000x for all your videos, your explanations, your time 💚💚🙏🙏🇫🇷🌿🌿🤩🥰
I really love the long form videos, it's nice and relaxing to set one going while I'm doing chores or at the pc doing other things and it's nice not to have to stop what I'm doing just to switch to another video sometimes
That was so enjoyable! I much prefer listening to you talk, I think most of us not only watch your channel for plant content, but you as well. If you were not commentating, we wouldn't know what a lot of the plants are or about the area you are showing us. Sweating? Ha..ha. Its 104 F in Oregon today. I don't have air conditioning. 90 F inside with 74% humidity. My plants are ecstatic! I watched your video with ice water packs shoved in my arm pits. Enjoy the cooler weather while you can..Lol ❤🌴😎
What your numbers are reflecting on that aspect is your actual subscribers are watching the garden tours and the random drop ins (large#views) are your informative videos that have a topic of something that people were searching for. But I could be talking out my bum what do u know lol great video Jan I ❤ your commentary!
I really enjoy these walks with you, very relaxing as you do the hard work! Its my exercise for the day lol. I find your walks interesting especially with your own brand of commentary, please keep doing them. I'm in the Uk, so I smile sardonically when you say at the height of winter its a 25 degree day...our height of summer right now has been wet, windy and not so hot. 💫
19:15 - OMG! You coming to the realization that you can't explore a Park Chronologically..!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Very structured indeed!! 😂😂 Nature is best explored Organically, lots of letting something other than your brain guide you.. Let your soul (or heart) guide you.. Go where your feet take you.. Get drawn towards some invisible force, for your destination awaits you..!! ❤❤❤❤
Sitting here in cold Canberra with a broken leg, I absolutely loved getting out and about with you, how stunning is that garden!! Please keep narrating your adventures.
I'm sorry these videos aren't more popular for you and the algorithm, but I can guarantee the people that love them really love them❤❤❤. I know I do. Thank you so much for sharing your favorite tree! Also, those tree philodendron are amazing!!
I agree! It shows jan’s personality more. And his enthusiasm, not just for sydney, but for the amazing plants and wildlife. Think he should show brad before he leaves so, as i love seeing him too!
I really enjoy watching your "walking through Sydney videos". I spent about half a year in Australia in 2018/2019 and Sydney was my most favourite city. Your videos bring back all those beautiful memories. And yes: I think you should keep talking and sharing your thoughts because that makes the videos authentic. Keep it up, Jan! Greetings from Germany!
I like these videos cause some I have to sit and literally take notes but these are more relaxed and I can just chill it doesn't matter if I miss a bit. It's great to see so many plants out growing in different environments too. I'm from Australia but I never go to Sydney so it's nice to get a free tour! Happy to keep watching these!
I adore these walks!!! I take walks like this on the weekends. It's so nice that you're taking us along and we get to hear your commentary. Thanks❤ Looking at the vegetation, it looks as if winter in Sydney is so mild that at its worst, it mimics the permannent weather in Bogotá, Colombia (46-66°F / 7-18°C). I'm only mentioning this bc. people often imagine South American tropical plants as only growing in warm climates. But the truth is we have the Andes mountains through Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, Bolivia. They extend further, but right now I'm talking about tropical and subtropical vegetation. The more height, the cooler the climate. Medellin is 2,000 mts. above sea level for example. So, in theory, all your indoor plants should do well outdoors. The process of acclimatization of course will cause stress, but it looks to me like you really did your homework when doing your plant selection. Congrats!
Definitely love your garden walk and talk videos! It shows us more of your personality and enthusiasm for all plants. I love these videos because even though I’ve lived in Sydney in the past, I’ve never been to these places, so thank you for showing us all these amazing spaces Sydney has to offer. There is beauty everywhere, you just need to look. Keep up the good work 🙏👍🏻
Great video, loved the garden! Nice scenery too! Screaming children were not too noticeable, so don't worry. I like the commentary in these kind of videos please. Bush turkeys are cute. Love the Sydney Harbour and so glad you showed this fantastic place to us. Thanks for sharing this beautiful garden and happy growing 😊
It's so nice for me to see other tropical gardens!!! The huge Ficus, and how the birds nest ferns take advantage of the same niche as Birds nest Anthuriums here in Central America 😊 These kind of videos make me miss the shade I used to have in my garden sooooo much 🙃
Haha I miss the turkey that lived in the garden at my old apartment building :( i always said hello when walking by :D i think they are so funny looking 😂
We appreciate you and your videos. Do what YOU like, and we'll watch. I have such a small living space that my plants are in the smaller size. So I'll love to see other plant parent's collection and outside world (I'm in Canada, Qc, so we have different winter for sure lol). Thanks for the tour, it was interesting and beautiful.
I got into plants earlier this year, when I realised that I have been walking around with a burnout for a while. It still is a great distraction for pain caused by my rheumatism and helps me to get out of a deep pit (: Having something to enjoy, to see grow, it calms me
I enjoy your walks thru Sydney’s planty areas. It’s interesting to see how our house plants grow when outside. And I especially loved the botanical garden - please go back there again.
Project time!! Bromeliads on a dead tree/drift wood etc!! Oooooo!!!! Soooo stunning there!!! I wanna visit so bad but it’d take me 2 days to get there! Can’t believe you were within walking distance to all that!! You are BLESSED brother!! All your natural flora is beautiful too! We have pine trees…. Lol I’m sure there’s lots that’s beautiful here in southern BC Canada that I just haven’t noticed yet, our wildflowers are pretty
That was superb! You're so lucky to have a climate that's friendly to exotic plants. For five months of the year my tropicals and subtropicals (and I guess warm temperate too), my indoor temperatures are too low to support growth. Also, I for one am a fan of your walks and garden tours; it's fun to leave my plant chores at home and take a walk with you.
I love that you take us on these outings in Australia. I also love your commentary. I have found myself screenshotting some plants when you take us on these outings and then identifying them online. The plants that are native there are extremely interesting. ❤
Aww listen to all those birds! Reminds me of Hawaii, 20+ degrees in the winter sounds great to me, not -20 to -30 ! Stunning, you’re blessed Jan! I enjoy your commentary honestly, seeing where you live and all the natural or planted flora where you are, if you know what it is great, but if not that’s fine too, we can always do research too. I enjoy living vicariously through you. Our summers in full swing here, moving towards fall in the next month +. We’re in serious drought, though the fires haven’t been as bad near us this year (yet) we’re in trouble. Our rivers at an all time low. Water shortages. It’s scary. We had 60% less rain last month, yikes I’m in my glory when walking a tropical trail, fav thing to do in Hawaii, you can visit the waterfalls, but my fav is getting there and back! After my 2nd visit is when I started my planty journey, I wanted Hawaii in my home, so started collecting what I saw around me there, took pics, came home did research and found some I could grow! Of course Monstera was my first!
Hi, nice video, like the way you did😊 I sometimes would also like live in such climate to grow these beautiful plants outside. In Austria only frost hardy plants are possible to bring over the winter. However now some Mediterranean plants are at least possible to grow😊, thank you for the video 💚🪴💚🪴💚
I really love the planty walk & talk and say whatever comes to you. I just enjoy seeing the scenery, it resembles Florida where I am. I especially love love the historical story behind the garden, I loved everything about it & hope you continue with these little walk about adventures ❤
Did you know when the yellows of the wattle bloom, it signifies the best time to go fishing for indigenous Australians!! A Bush-tucker tour of Sydney would be fun!!
I love your walks. Not only is your commentary interesting, i love seeing sydney like that. Makes me feel a bit sad though, as i was supposed to move there a few years back. (In uk) But the fact it is so warm even in winter! I dont think i could cope with the summer heat. Do you miss germany? Do you think you will stay living in Australia? Totally agree with you regarding no development there. Let us hope it stays that way! 🙏🌴🌳🪴🌿🌺 i also love that you bumped into the little doggie from the boat! 🐶
oh my god oh my god. I cant help my self I have to comment. Those xanadus, ferns, alocasias, monsteras... just on the street. Unbelievable. I love this concept. Also I love seeing the everyday streets. I love your commenting. It allows us to get to know you better while you comment on the random things you see. Please do more.
I really like these videos. I love your commentary, the scenery and plants are beautiful, and since I doubt I'll ever be able to travel to Australia it gives me the opportunity to see Sydney. I really appreciate the time and energy you put into these!
I enjoy the commentary. It is interesting seeing bits of Sidney along with your thoughts and insights - even if you don't know all the plant names. You certainly know enough to make it interesting. And I don't find the car noise all that distracting. The music however is sometimes a bit distracting. I really enjoy your educational videos. But the vlogs are a nice change once and a while.

Thanks for the history...that 's tragic but I'm glad she was able to find purpose & comfort through plants.
@@traceynoble6080 How sad for that family but through this garden others may have hope...🙏🏼
These walkabouts are fun because of the commentary IMO. Keep up the walking and talking.
Thanks :)
Enjoyed it very much Yan.The walk is stunning. Right amount of walk with right amount of talk,I prefer that you talk and explain what you see otherwise we would miss those plants or flowers.

Thank you for sharing your grief story with us, it's very powerful.
I enjoy the “out and about”trips ❤.The background noise is never an issue, your voice and mic are top notch👍🏼👍🏼. I did miss Brad❤❤
Thanks :)
I lllloooovvveeee listening to you when you walk ❤ just don't stop please 😊

Just keep doing what you're doing man. It's tough starting out! Whatever you show us is unique and what YOU like and that's why we're here!
True that! Thanks :)

That’s awesome :) thank you!
Really enjoy these chatty walks - they wouldn’t be the same without your commentary! 😊
Cheers :)
I enjoy these videos. It feels like I’m hanging out and listening to a friend.

Sitting here in cold Canberra with a broken leg, I absolutely loved getting out and about with you, how stunning is that garden!! Please keep narrating your adventures.
Thanks :)
I'm sorry these videos aren't more popular for you and the algorithm, but I can guarantee the people that love them really love them❤❤❤. I know I do. Thank you so much for sharing your favorite tree! Also, those tree philodendron are amazing!!
Thanks :)
I agree! It shows jan’s personality more. And his enthusiasm, not just for sydney, but for the amazing plants and wildlife. Think he should show brad before he leaves so, as i love seeing him too!
Keep the comments . It is good to hear you talking about the different things you are seeing in the walk 😀
I Really enjoy these videos, the talking and the walking. It's nice to know what you are seeing, hearing and appreciating as you go 😊
Thanks :)
I love your commentary! It feels like I'm walking with you - that's my heavy breathing in the background, 'cuz I'm out of shape. 💚💚💚
Danke :)
Omg…beautiful! Thanks for taking me on this walk on this lovely day with an awesome array of greenery💚💚💚❣️
Thanks :)
That's the idea ... like going on a walk with me, without having to do the walking :D
I love seeing Sydney on your walks. I may never get there myself and I marvel at all the plants in the street that I have to grow inside
Thank you :)
Thanks for the walkabout. Just loved it. Lived in Sydney 30 years and never did that walk. I’ve got to do it 👍🏻💚
I adore these walks!!! I take walks like this on the weekends. It's so nice that you're taking us along and we get to hear your commentary. Thanks❤
Looking at the vegetation, it looks as if winter in Sydney is so mild that at its worst, it mimics the permannent weather in Bogotá, Colombia (46-66°F / 7-18°C).
Congrats!
Thank you :) yes, people always forget about altitude & how much cooler it is :) thanks for brining it up!!
Keep up the good work 🙏👍🏻
Thank you :)
Thanks :)
It's so nice for me to see other tropical gardens!!! The huge Ficus, and how the birds nest ferns take advantage of the same niche as Birds nest Anthuriums here in Central America 😊 These kind of videos make me miss the shade I used to have in my garden sooooo much 🙃
Lol Around 18min you mentioned a "palm tree" those are actually cycads, more closely related to pines than to palms 😝
PS: I could definitely get used to seeing you sweaty 😇
And the bromeliads at 27 I think both are Aechmeas, the more "thick" one is Aechmea weilbachii
Your city is beautiful. All these plants living outside. And those turkeys!! So lovely ❤
Haha I miss the turkey that lived in the garden at my old apartment building :( i always said hello when walking by :D i think they are so funny looking 😂
These videos are perfect just the way they are! Thank you for the good times!
Thank you:)
Thanks :)
I got into plants earlier this year, when I realised that I have been walking around with a burnout for a while. It still is a great distraction for pain caused by my rheumatism and helps me to get out of a deep pit (: Having something to enjoy, to see grow, it calms me
That’s great to hear :) plant do make people happy !!
Very beautiful. Keep talking while you show us more of Australia. Nice music pics also.
I enjoy your walks thru Sydney’s planty areas. It’s interesting to see how our house plants grow when outside. And I especially loved the botanical garden - please go back there again.
Thanks :) yes i’ll go back every now & then to show how it changes over the seasons :)
Gorgeous stroll through the gardens and Bay Area. Thank you for sharing this with us!
The little doggie suddenly pop-up so funny! I'm from Hong Kong. Love to see your walks, your cat and plants. Love to see dog's garden/park too.
Thank you :)
So beautiful! Thank you so much for the relaxing walk through the beautiful locations. Please do more.
❤
Thanks :)
It’s scary. We had 60% less rain last month, yikes
I’m in my glory when walking a tropical trail, fav thing to do in Hawaii, you can visit the waterfalls, but my fav is getting there and back! After my 2nd visit is when I started my planty journey, I wanted Hawaii in my home, so started collecting what I saw around me there, took pics, came home did research and found some I could grow! Of course Monstera was my first!
This was a beautiful walk, Jan! It’s like I’m hanging out in Sydney with you ! Love it 🌿🌿🌿
Thanks:)
Thank you :)
I love to visit Sydney spots vicariously through you. Please continue.
Thank you :)
You do you Jan, love your chatter!!
Thanks :)
Moin Jan,
I really love the planty walk & talk and say whatever comes to you. I just enjoy seeing the scenery, it resembles Florida where I am. I especially love love the historical story behind the garden, I loved everything about it & hope you continue with these little walk about adventures ❤
Thank you :)
I've loved these little exploration walks around your city, super chilled and relaxing to watch!
Thanks :)
I really liked the tour and the your commentary too! More please 🥰
I love seeing the nature around Sydney, and I love your commentary!
Cheers :)
That tree is massive and gorgeous 💚💚
Did you know when the yellows of the wattle bloom, it signifies the best time to go fishing for indigenous Australians!! A Bush-tucker tour of Sydney would be fun!!
I had no idea !!
Another great walk, beautiful garden 🥰 I really enjoy your walks & talks the way they are now so keep it like that 😁
Thank you :)
i enjoy your walk and talk around the city. love to see you do more garden and nursery tours.
oh my god oh my god. I cant help my self I have to comment. Those xanadus, ferns, alocasias, monsteras... just on the street. Unbelievable. I love this concept. Also I love seeing the everyday streets. I love your commenting. It allows us to get to know you better while you comment on the random things you see. Please do more.
Thanks :)
I really like these videos. I love your commentary, the scenery and plants are beautiful, and since I doubt I'll ever be able to travel to Australia it gives me the opportunity to see Sydney. I really appreciate the time and energy you put into these!
Thank you :)
As for your videos/content, I love what your creating. I’m down for what ever you come up with. Many blessings ❣️
Thanks :)
Thank you :)
Loving seeing Sydney and the contrast with the kind of plants around the city compared to the uk where I’m from 😊 walk and talk is nice 💖
Thanks :)
Love the walking tours like this one! Sooo cool to see. Also I think your walking to talking ratio is spot on.
Thanks :)
