    Have the same bike and code C00 (have a aftermarket exhaust) but you can remove that FI light by installing a Woodcraft Servo Buddy. If the red light comes again it's because there's another sensor issue which then you would obtain the code again. Suzuki sells a device/switch that you can directly place over that plug then turn on and you'll get the code without having to use that small wire.

    Hey Dude, just bought a secondhand 2011 GSXR1000. The FI light does not comes on with ignition on and engine running first starting up engine. The FI light comes on after riding bike for about five minutes with no noticeable issues with loss of performance at all. When I stop bike and turn off ignition then turn back on imediately the FI light disappears. So I tried the procedure for checking FI code and my code is -C00. Fella I bought the bike from said the code comes on because he was not able to access premium fuel and the FI light would disappear when I run a tank of premium fuel through the engine. What do you think?

  • @MoodSwingZX

    Putting the jumper before turning the ignition clear the codes. That's what I've heared.

  • @mac-doien9298

    Thanks for the diagnostic demo dude. PS The reason I'm looking for the explanation for the FI code is because the engine is running rough, I was running out of fuel and the fuel pump sucked up some sludge at the bottom of the tank, so I removed the screen and cleaned it as best as I could and at least it runs now and I added some Sea Foam to the fuel, and poured some directly into the carbs but it does not accelerate beyond 1/2 it's top speed and after only a few miles it dies... so there's that. The FI Code may have nothing to do with the dirty fuel although if FI translates to Fuel Injectors.. maybe it does??
    To complicate matters have this aftermarket keyless ignition which pre-dates the dirty fuel problem so my SV650 startup sequence looks different than it did prior to the install... that is to say; I don't see the red FI code until I start the engine up.. So, in order to further diagnose the problem I am about to try and start the engine with that little jumper in place, unless someone out there (hopefully today) advises not to start my engine with the jumper in place, that's what I will try.
    PS.. Thanks for breaking down the times that one can skip to in your video and get to the exact code needed to diagnose the problem. Peace. Mac out.

      I'm glad it was helpful. I had an 04 600 and I had a similar issue. I ended up having to clean the entire fuel system. It had sat around for some years and it needed to be done, not sure how bad of a case you might have but it might not be a bad idea to at least replace/clean your fuel lines, clean your primary/secondary fuel injectors, clean your fuel pump filters, make sure your fuel pump is working properly, and try to clean the inside of your tank as best as possible. Primary fuel injectors FI code would be C32, 33, 34, and 35...........Secondary fuel injectors C36, 37, 38, and 39. If there was something going on with your fuel pump you would have a C42 code. So if you aren't getting those codes, then my guess would be that you just have a dirty fuel system and it's just a matter of taking care of one piece at a time. I would start with the tank and work my way to the injectors.

      @@MotoBeto82 Update: I applied the jumper as noted above and started my engine and the red FI light went out... for a few minutes and while I'm waiting for a C____ code to show up, instead nothing happened and a minute later that darn red light/FI indicator returned. So yeah that didn't work, and it's back to the same problems as when I began. I wonder if there's another way to diagnose that FI code? Maybe there's a button on the back side of my instrument cluster.. I saw this Suzuki mechanic video but it was done on a different modle of motorcycle where the mechanic reached his hand in behind the instrument cluster and somehow activated a secret diagnostic mode on the bike.. it could be that easy.. easy once I take the fairing off.. so, I don't have much choice.. not having a network of small engine mechanics or even so much as a shop manual.. wish me luck.. here goes nothing.

    Hi thanks for the vid👍.
    I have the -C00 after using a bridge wire method. How do I get the FI and solid red light to clear now then if I have this ‘no code’ and there is no actual problem. I cud understand if I had an error code which led me to fix a known problem then it would clear itself.
    Cheers if anyone can help?

    My dear friend, good morning, as I am very far away and we are separated by a large sea, I have the following question: I am also a lucky owner of a suzuki gsr600. Two or three days now while I am on the move my F1 turns on. I stop after 50-100 meters I turn off and after a couple of minutes I put it back on and the F1 light goes out but after a few kilometers it turns on again, the engine works normally. From a normal start it lights up like all the lights and immediately goes out, I put forward with dead speed and it does not light up as soon as I travel 3-4 kilometers it lights up again. You can help me?? Warm thanks in advance

    What are the requirements for a gsxr k7 750 to start? When I push the start button, it won't start/crank. I don't hear the start relay clicking. Relay is still working, I checked. Clutch sensor also working. When I push the start button, the headlights go off (and back on when I release the button), so the button itself is also working.

    • @MotoBeto82
      @MotoBeto82  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aww man, sounds like you might have some electrical gremlins in your bike. I would check all the couplers make sure they snapped on correctly as well as all the wires (make sure there aren't any shorts/burned out wires). Could definitely be the headlight relay. Hopefully it's an easy fix for you. This year/model is know to have issues with the rectifier and stator. The rectifier is located between the engine and the radiator. All the heat in that area causes the wires inside the rectifier to melt causing damage to the stator and possibly other parts of the electrical system. Wouldn't hurt to relocate the rectifier. There are many after market brackets made for the rectifier and it's pretty easy to do. Check them out, could avoid you some issues later down the road.

    • @Lukeon2
      @Lukeon2 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey I had this exact issue a few days ago. I thought it was a loose wire at the ignition plug under the airbox so I soldered all the wires together. I also thought a loose wire was culprit at the ECU but no dice. As I read on the Gixxer forums someone simply sprayed WD40 down the keyhole and used compressed air to blow away excess. Personally I used CRC QD Electronic Cleaner and a compressed air spray afterwards. Flicked the killswitch multiple times to make sure it primes and I have had no problems since. My bike does not have an immobilizer so your experience may be different.

    • @MotoBeto82
      @MotoBeto82  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man. Unfortunately, I do not have much experience diagnosing that particular problem. I would start with the cheapest part first. If your ignition switch is faulty obviously the bike will not starting, you will probably have issues turning the key or taking it out. If your bike would suddenly shut off while you were riding could be another clue. You said you checked all the wires and they were good. Check your ignition switch before you replace it just to make sure. The black wire is always going to be the ground and I believe the blue wire is going to be the hot wire. Definitely check the immobilizer/anti-theft system as well (mine doesn't have this so I'm not too familiar). On your ECM, on the black coupler, pin #21 is going to be the one for your ignition switch. So you can maybe check to see if there is a signal getting to your ECM. Maybe that could shine some light as to if the ECM is not working properly. Sorry man, that's all I got. Hopefully you get it squared away.
