Finally a vid on the exhaust valve! Mine is stuck as f on my GSR750 :p I know what i´m going to do in the upcooming weekend :) Thank you so much for the vid
Great video! One question, when testing the motor the pull cable on the right pulled to the top position and is now stuck. Any idea how I get it back down?
Good video, i have this problem every year as don't use the bike enough. So only gets used say once a month during the fair weather months. I find that i get the error on every 1st startup but leave the bike to warm up to about 60-80c, turn the bike off laving it off for 7 seconds and turn back on and no error as the valve can now move due to the heat freeing up the stuck valve. I have taken it apart just like this video and re-greased, which fixed the problem but only lasted for 6 months and get the same problem again. :(
I’m thinking about buying a 2011 750 gsxr and only has 3,500 miles but the seller has told me it’s showing the FI Light and it has to do with the butterfly exhaust valve and he’s asking 7000 for the bike but I don’t know enough about them can someone please give me some advice all he said that it was a little difficult to start up when it’s cold
@@chriseverette7379I know it's a little too late but... Yes, if the exhaust valve got stuck half closed It would be difficult to start. If you follow this video maybe you can fix this issue because it's a simple mecanism.
Excellent video, George! I followed your instructions and got a C15 reading (engine coolant temperature sensor) according to the list you posted. Would this issue make the bike difficult to start? I got it started once but nearly exhausted the battery supply. TIA
@@leewilson4680 i didn't! I ended up knackering the motor! Because this video didn't explain how to release the cables...So I decide to keep the valve open and install a servo eliminator
@@Aimless5369 thanks for replying. Not sure if this was right or not but I managed to pull the cable down through a combination of turning the key to make the valve motor kick in and pulling the stuck side when it did it’s thing. That worked and gave me enough slack to reattach it. 👍🏼
If this gets stuck could this cause the bike to jolt or judder when riding it? (Similar to when fuel pump is about to fail) Am I right in thinking if it's stuck on closed then it will stop the combustion cycle and cause the bike to jolt? Thanks
Hi mate , inside my servo , it seems like something is melting as its getting hot and smells like burning plastic ? Any idea ? What could be melting inside ? Thanks dude
no, no foreign objectes blocking the valve, just bearings siezed, I used a lot of wd4 and wiggle, I even put it in the drill and spin it until all was super smooth.
I got this error code but I have a scorpion full system so that’s removed I guess that’s what’s causing the code? Clear the error and carry on as usual?
Hey I got these and the cables that were attached to the spring are stuck like pulled up, any idea on how to loosen it back up again? This happened because I disconnected it from the spring and turned the bike back on. Thanks in advance
@George Moraru Its weird because even in the motor side the cables have no room to play, its tight and stuck on both the motor side and where the valve on the exhaust its connected
@George Moraru I took off the gas tank, seat and side fairings. On the motorside where the cables attached its stuck with no room to play, also down where the cables attach to the exhaust
George, For the first set up, just keep valve full open (default position due to spring) and adjust the cables as you mentioned, right!? BTW very nice video, very helpful. I just subscribed!! Tks friend!!
@@GicaPhp thanks George for this great video I did check the code on my bike and it was code 00 with the throttle sensor off, just a small adjustment and I was ready to go. Keep it up brother and thanks again.
why would you tell people to activate the motor when not connected! its completey pulled the cable through one side and ive been unable to get it in the right position !
I have not told anyone to do anything, I just shown what I did and you use the information as you find fit. Are you going to jump in a well because someone said so?
@@GicaPhp you said now is a good time to check the motor operates fine when disconnected but it actually seems to mess it up instead, mabye its better to connect cables first then check at end once connected, i have had to take back out my motor which was a nightmare and take off the motor gear to put cables back in right position but i dont know if i have ruined the motor in the process because of this!, i think i may have flat battery now so will find out tomorrow, besides that a helpful guide

It helps a lot, my bike have the same situation and get fixed already. thank you!

Hi thank you for video really helped me just stuck on getting the cables back as it has pulled them in and i cant get them back thanks
No problem 👍 You will need to follow the cable to the motor and take off the rubber cover and you will be able to turn it by hand
Great video! One question, when testing the motor the pull cable on the right pulled to the top position and is now stuck. Any idea how I get it back down?
Power it up from an external battery

Yes, I know the feeling. Unfortunately the grease will be burned by the exhaust gases.
Is this something serious???
@@chriseverette7379 no not at all just a pain in the arse.
Awesome video, thank you George! I will do the same to my GSXR600 and hopefully would get rid of my FI C46 code too! Kudos!
Good luck!

Great tutorial!! Do you have a service manual for the gsr750?
Sorry, no
Great video man very helpfull ill have to attack mine shortly 👍

Yes, a faulty ECT will create bad starting, the mixture could be too lean or too reach based on how the sensor has failed.

if it will restrict air flow, yes, it will cause drivebility issues

So was there anything blocking the valve? Did it just need WD40 and a big of a wiggle ?
