    Love this format. It doesn’t assume the user already knows a bunch of the features of SketchUp, but at the same time it doesn’t beat you over the head with over explaining how to draw a line. Perfect for someone like me that’s figured out the very basic stuff and wants to start advancing a bit beyond just line drawings/floor plan stuff.

    Very helpful. I couldn’t help but notice one low hanging fruit here, but… the quickest and easiest way to build that model after you deleated it is to simply hit the “undo” keyboard shortcut 😎👍

    Excellent job on this one. However the task of creating walls gets more complex as you start adding windows and doors and then your client wants to move or resize those openings in the wall. Using just SketchUp and it’s native tools can get very tedious as you would then need to remodel a bunch of the geometry. That is why I would strongly suggest using an extension to draw walls, you get the flexibility of SketchUp but you also get the parametric or editing ability which makes things so much more efficient.

    We're in 2023. Is there not a software that has pre-existing lumber mock ups? Also, there should be an auto function that allows the software to recommend structual design. This is crazy.

    • @CWebbTutorials
      @CWebbTutorials  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You can save components and reuse them with a click of a button. I don’t know what you mean by “recommend structural design” but there are very sophisticated softwares out there. This one happens to be easy to use and free.

    A great video for learning the basics of Sketchup @structuredesign. We built a plugin that automates all of what you did in the video and, it enables you to adjust slab and footing thickness. With framed walls you can parmatrically create and edit all wood framing, including junctions, top/ribbon plates, headers & sills etc infinite times in just 2 clicks. After the wall is drawn you can also add or delete doors & Windows after the wall is drawn. Reach out if you would like to see it. Again great work, keep them coming.

    It's crazy that they don't have pre made boards that you can just rotate and configure any way you please. No reason we should have to make and paint them one by one.

    • @CWebbTutorials
      @CWebbTutorials  ปีที่แล้ว

      You don’t have to make and paint them one by one, you only have to make one. You can not only copy it, but you can also save it as a component and always use it from your component list with the click of a button.
