Another fun fact, idk if vid said or not cause it skipped through the explanation very quickly but the shockwaves buff damage will still deal damage even if u hit ur target. So u can deal slightly more damage even more then u already did.
I used to get this accidentally with the large club 2HR2. This is nearly never relevant/fight determining, but I'm sure we'll find a moment where this video will remind us of this niche thing, and will win us a fight. Or rather we'd hit an opponent and wonder why they took damage when it clearly missed, and then we'd remember this to be the fact. Love it.
damn, bro... 1k hours in DS and I never knew about this. If DSR servers ever come online again I'm gonna use this knowledge in my sens fortress invasions >:)
That's why buffing small fast hitting weapons is better, because the damage increase will always be the same. So for max dps you'd wanna buff a small, fast hitting weapon
I think Gwyn's sword swings, as in those of the boss, not of the player version of his sword, also do this. There's no need for the sword to hit the ground, a wall, etc., the swings do this automatically, and maybe the stab (or stabs if he has a 1H and 2H version) as well.
Fun fact: The Zweihander in the Dark Souls franchise is closer to a Montante, the spanish equivalent to the german Zwei. Elden Ring's Zweihander is more historically accurate when it comes to its visuals.

@@parusan_ Sorry I replied to the wrong comment. Anyways it's the music from the beginning of the video
You skipped a 47 sec videos? omfg tiktok level attention span here
man that maths jumpscare really got me
i almost cried from seeing maths
@bigsmoke312 good luck
Dark Souls it's just Cool Math Games for masochists.
Math. The worst enemy in Dark Souls 😬
The only boss 97% have not beaten
The power of the Bass Cannon
Don't tell anyone you levelled that shit up
Cool mechanic, such a shame it was removed in later games.
Dragonslayer Greataxe in DS3 would be ridiculous with lightning damage. Also a buffed FUGs
Never knew about this since i barelly used Zweyhander buffed, and when i did, never ever noticed and i aprecciate this info alot.
Thank you.
So buffed zweihander is actually zweihander with ds2 hitbox
It's so interesting that DS1 has so many cool little mechanics that they didn't bring back to other titles.
Thanks for that, an other reason for the Zweihander
I do prefer the longsword, but this looks usable as well. If you have the stats for it, of course
...hahahaha
It's the best sword cause the memes
@@thorwannabe6810 It's also just super strong for the first half of the game and for the late + dlc if you have a bit poise and armor
@@lepindre9193 it was a bit too slow for the dlc for me at least. I used the halberd over it
You truly are Crestfallen Warrior, I love how you typed your comment
...hahahahaha
@@nigrum_angelum6655 I'm pretty sure I talked to him when I was cosplaying Dutch from RDR2
And we never thought we would use that funky math from high school 🤣 look at us now!
Fun Fact: it actually exists.
Joking aside, there's supposedly one in a museum somewhere that was was 7 feet long and weighed 10 pounds.
I love using the zwei in ds1. I’m using it now for my first play through of ds3. I think I’ll use it for ds2 as well.
Is the shockwave still in ds2?
@@slameno-JR nah
Literally noticed it yesterday when i missed the gaping dragon with a gold pine buff 😂
I guess it's time to power up the bass cannon one more time

+ I'll add that The Large Club 2HR2 acts the same way!
How dare you teach me something new about Dark Souls one?! I thought I knew everything there was to know...
Lol that math chart looks like demonic text to me lmao
Wtf, I never knew about buffs damage being applied by the shockwave
I had seen it while doing a Zwei only playthrough and I was so confused...
Please put a warning before jumpscares!!
Fun fact: If instead of coming up a little bit short you end up hitting your enemy it will fucking die.
All the giant dad's wondering what took you so long? 🤣
damn, bro... 1k hours in DS and I never knew about this. If DSR servers ever come online again I'm gonna use this knowledge in my sens fortress invasions >:)
Thank you for reminding me why I failed at math
How to charm me from dex back to Str in less than a minute
it's also a direct stun at Gwyn
I didn't even knew it does shockwave damage.
Ok that's cool and all, but how does this help me counter wake-up twop into wotg?
That...was actually a fun fact, thank you.
Bro put math on the screen and pretended for us to understand💀
you had me until i saw m*th
Bro pulled up the numbers

Yeah spellsword builds tend to work better with dex in ds1 cause of this and the bonus to casting speed
shortest most intresting video I've ever seen
Wow, thanks
So that's what was happening! I thought the hitboxes on enemies just got worse throughout the game
The Zweihander ought to be held in the left hand. It's a decent shield, and slams just fine, better than any shield does.

Same thing with DBS and Great Sword splash damage in DeS.
haven't played DeS

Friendship with claymore has ended, now zweihander is my real friend.
great video
Well shit
Didn't know that
And I 1v1 Artorias with the Zweihander
That's also why the zwei is so good at stunlocking enemies. It has double poise damage, both from the blade and the shockwave.
holy shit is this like tumble-buff stone greatsword??
Isn't that AoE present in all Ultra weapons (UGS, Greataxes and Great Hammers)? I also noticed it with the Great Club, at least
I prefer go with Iato ... I can see the bleeding pouring from my enemies ... Taste the taste of my blade hahahahah
Another reason to not return to this broken game, more broken than the rest excluding Er. It is its own type of broken.
Actually cool video and I didn’t even know that but I lost you at 0:34
Nice
Nice
I love when the DS community gets their geek on.
Does anyone know if this works in Elden Ring too?
Neat!
I hate maths .. I will go with the axe , thanks bro
ima uhh go get the zwei now LOL
Can i have the intro pino music pls
th-cam.com/video/5mgYnwhM4eg/w-d-xo.html
Cool! Didn't know this
HOW IS THIS GAME SO GOOD AGGHHHHHH
Man that's some bd damage
would this work with divine zwei or only thru temporary buffs?
Only through temporary buffs
song in intro ?
It does seem cool. But since this and greatsword are slow. I still prefer my boi buff of all trades claymore one handed
That math was crazy
I believe the Great Club also has those shock waves, but I don't know if the buff applies
Wow
I'm pretty sure the standard greataxe also has it
Wow
I got lost when there were numbers
Yo what mask is that ? its sick! !
Child mask
still trash weapon.
Objectively best UGS in the game
Does it still do this in elden ring?
no idea
no
I’m not touching you, I’m not touching you…
