In this video I showcase my setup for Stygian Coal Warlock, which I made a few months ago and forgot about it till very recently. Time to dig it up and show what I was working on at the time!

1.1 Update : Virtually Unchanged, actually almost unnerfed other than ward global changes which did not affect this build that much.

What kinda corruption lv can we expect to achieve from this build?
is the ward provided by vessel of strife still sufficient after the 1.1 global ward nerf?
Will you revisit this build for 1.1?
im actually going to be working on a version of it right now, but this specific version 100% works fine right now

Looks good in Game mode but in character screen you can clearly see that the textures are a bit blurry, there it lacks behind even D3
Hot digidy Damn(ed) , i wish we could do such a cool lightshow with Disintegrate. Imagine you could channel disintegrate while moving and it would auto target enemies.
If im not mistaken you can aim the Stygian beams by using an empty slot skill bind
I WAS GOING TO cyc le start this build for 1.1, but is this build butchered without those gloves? I was going COF like I always do.

Hey now that patch notes are out is this build still viable? I didn't see anything that stood out to me that killed it just made mana sustain harder.
At the same time though everyone is like warlock is dead so figured i ask.
this build did not change much at all TBH, all the other builds in the game being nerfed has retroactively made this build better

I'm going to regret telling you this because EHG will probably nerf this somehow once word spreads, but i feel like I owe you this one because you gave me such a great build via this video.
New tech: you can take Aura of Decay off your bar once you toggle it on. I have found Bone Curse to be a suitable replacement. Transform it into Necrotic dmg, take Oppressive Gaze, and grab 5/5 Cursed Limbs through Brittle Bones & Acute Inflection (2/5 Iron Maiden, unfortunately) and this becomes an excellent addition to speed up boss killing.
You need a few T7 mana regen affixes (i put T7 on wand & T5 on necklace) to unspec Transplant, but it works.
we already know about aura of decay being able to be snapshotted off your bar. It resets constantly and is ultimately a complete bother. Its also something the devs already know about and is a bug, and will be squashed in the future, hence why I did not use it. I've known this for years and I don't use it because I know it will be removed and is not intentional.
Would you recommend this as a league starter?
no its kinda expensive. Id cycle start a generic warlock and transition into this when you have better gear. Theoretically an HP version of this could be good as well, especially if ward gets nerfed. I will be revisiting this build maybe in the future if it doesn't get outright deleted.

Hi, how did you make it so Aura of Decay keep ON/OFF without spaming it yourself ?

You have to take the Absence of Life node in Aura of Decay which heals you and allies; the wording of this node is bad, but it does heal you as well. Healing effectiveness can boost this node as well I believe. Other than that, health regen is good--both flat and increased.
You could also convert the poison chance to armor shred chance with the Armorbane node in the skill, but that would be if armor shred is something you're going for. This will shred your armor, as well as enemies inside the aura, instead of applying poison.
