same as i said above, he doesnt use devotion amulet for that juicy flat spell dmg and cast speed, first of all he says he doesnt have enough single target dmg, that amulet solves it, i can understand he use bleeding heart, but i play with devotion and just scaling healing effectiveness and i dont die, playing fire version, with 100% crit chance, allways criting, using unique helmet with 270% crit and harbringer wand with 9% base crit, its kinda of waste of dmg not to go crit when smite have 100% crit multi, and second thing from that amulet - more casting - means faster heals
Could you find ~10 passive points somewhere to put into mail crusher in the base sentinel tree then use a scepter mainhand with + spell lightning damage and leech plus devotion? Devotion has every stat you want in this setup. Sure it doesn't solve the survival problem, but that's a patch 1.2 problem.
I dual wielded Palarus's on my bladedancer rogue while leveling. Ended up getting two of them from Nemesis drops, one with melee attack speed and the other with + flat physical damage and were the best weapons I had. Was fun seeing all the Smite procs going off all the time. Lol
i did same. I was trying to make Lightning Swipe Shaman build with howling of the west wind helm. The concept is sound but number balance for shaman are not there to support it. Missing too many things, this might be powerful in another season.
@@dodang_9147I was mostly just surprised that the swords proc'd Smite on a non-Sentinel character. I had assumed that items with class skills on them would only proc for the class that had the skill.

Is Maehlin's really pulling its weight? Could maybe swap it for the Avarice gloves which frees up the Amulet for Nihilis. There's a weird node in Javelin that gives you melee Electrify chance while its on cooldown. This is probably the only way to add Electrify chance to healing hands(aside from Aurelis and the little on Mad alch ladle) and might pair decently with either Multistrike (proc both Smites and HH) or channeled HH.
DoT is overtuned but if you are referring to the DoT in the Aberroth fight, I don't think mitigation helps much there. At base, my Rive Void Knight had 30% DoT mitigation from armor as well as 15% Titan heart and 10% nearby enemies. Since I was dying in the Aberroth fight, I swapped in a 17% Oracle amulet over my existing Jade and it was not much help, even tried adding a Ravenous Void but the DoT in final phase is just too much. Finally I killed him with the DPS from a well rolled Nihilis farmed on another char. Most of my other chars also had it much easier due to better DPS or mobility (by not being melee).
i know its multistrike but would the 100% from aurelis and the up to 46% from palarus not work together? and the smite node in multistrike as well as the bleed in the tree turned into more ignite/elec chance. then just swap the healing hands on smite to on melee hit. idk if you tried that or not but it is multistrike so i wouldnt blame you
that's the problem Palarus sword, your building DoT damage on a character that builds raw damage. raw damage works with crit but not with status effect. the summary of this builds problem.
Since you're trying to avoid DoT, did you consider taking a well rolled Advent of the Erased since it gives up to 35% DoT reduction while hasted? I see you took the haste node in Holy Aura, which means you have a decent source of haste and then maybe a crit avoid ring and blessing or a well rolled Leonines, (I know, goodbye Seed), to help with crit mitigation?
@@PerrythePig In 22:43-24:34, you talk about what class to pick but i think you misunderstand which version of smite excels at what mastery. I feel like Void knight would either use Warpath to trigger smite since it can echo Smitee or Healing hand melee version. Testing would be needed figure out which one is better. I am pretty sure Paladin version is meant to use Muti-strike Smite. Stack a bunch of swords. I don't think paladin is meant to use Electrify status effect at all. All mastery bonus are meant to cross-perk with void knight or forge guard as they appear before tree cut-off. I'd imagine the build would look like something like Muti-strike+Smite+Void cleave+Void Reversal+Healing aura. Palarus' + Aureris. it is smite build that probably focuses more on "void cleave" then smite itself. Your version of the build is forge guard variant where you directly cast smite and stack cast speed. these are my best guesses to which mastery corresponding with which smite variant.
The comment about if void knights used shields they have failed made me laugh but why did they make the void knight set include a shield? EHG dont even sound sure themselves

I'm using this sword and Rive for my Void Knight!!! U gotta try it, the thing is u will be needing to sacrifice some VK skills for Smite!
have you tried using Atrophy gloves? It got % penetration for DOT and 2LP is common.
I was trying rive smite healing hands electrify, single target seems decent.
