What a massive help this guide has been. The bit about slamming exalts into low level uniques and keeping the level reqs made me instantly want to pause the video and go do it. Also, ever since I started this game, every day I think to myself... "This is the game Diablo 4 should/could have been." This game in Diablo 4's skin and theme would be.... perfect.
Thanks so much for this guide. I've been so crossed up by different videos suggesting "better" levelling paths through the dungeons -- you concisely laying out each method and the pros and cons at the start was exactly what I needed.
MOAR TIPS! 1. Jim Thomes can also be used to INSTANTLY level up a skill or skills if you just re-spec'd. 2. Check the town armor vendors for items that might have +skill modifiers - you can sometimes find items at vendors that give "+ level to x skill" - unless the skill is something you can't see yourself every playing, buy the item and then shatter it! You now have an easy way to turn lower-level gear into something OP by adding additional levels to skills you're using. 3. The Tier 1 versions of each of the dungeons are mostly easy, quick, and drop fairly useful uniques (some of them drop build-enabling uniques). Assuming you are leveling an alt and have some of the required keys, running these can give great xp and jump-start your build. Lightless Arbor can be run at level 22 and drops a pretty nice crit helmet. 4. Remember that bosses can be stunned and frozen! If you skipped the campaign and got to mono's super early, equip a weapon with stun chance or use a skill that freezes to make blasting both the mono's and bosses easier until you get more levels! Enjoy!
Some excellent tips. I just crafted a decent Firestarter's Torch with T6 Mana/Mana Regen. That plus Calamity helm is a cheat code. Levelled a Torment Warlock from 1-60 including all idol/passive unlocks in only 4 hours.
i hesitate to make alts in other games than diablo and last epoch, i did not find any GOOD guide about the campaign skip but some explanatiions, after figuring it out myself i already have my third char in the 80's it's really easy and fast and alot of fun if you want to try different builds!
by the way the fastest method is, playing until you choose ur second mastery, dont forget to make the saphire tablet quests, then do the dungeon i think its lastless arbor, NOW run to the ship and make the quest which brings you into the desert zone!!! (dont forget to lvl up in monoliths before entering desert zone) soulfire bastion is NOT part of the campaign skip that is misleading, soulfire bastion is just to bring you to the arena faster! if your in the desert zone run straight to the right to do the next dungeon temporal sanctum, after that complete the campaign with all side quests which you now getting (they are all on the way to the end of the campaign and so to say "on your way" to the endboss which makes it extremely easy and handy to get all your idols and passive points!) and then kill the endboss and your as good as done with the char
what i also found out is: if you have a friend you can join his 100 monoliths why you are like lvl 25 and get about 3 lvl per monolith, just port to him while he is doing the monolith, this is also a way to NOT lose the monolith rewards if you die, my friend died while doing the monolith and i was still alive and he could port to me. you just need to stand next to him like 1-2 screens to get the xp. if you die dont worry just right click on his portrait again and you will port to him again, you will of course die alot in a 100 mono while being 25.
@@Lanceloot91 doesn't need to be lvl 100 monoliths, the xp is capped at +5 lvls of yours. So if you're 25, and you can join his lvl 60 monos, the xp gain is the same.

Raxx this video just entirely reinvigorated my desire to keep streaming and playing this game. i never thought to put so much emphasis into making twink items, and now i have a reason to run my lvl 60-80 character some more so so i can target items to make all my fun new builds that i want to do, more enjoyable from the get go!!!!!!!! after 350+ hours in the last few months, Im still in completely in love with this game!!!!

I'm new to the game but familiar with ARPGs. Last Epoch is the first one with a Hardcore mechanic that hooked me. I just got my first character past level 60 by stumbling onto your #2 strategy by accident simply because Lagon kept sending me back to the character creation screen. Any build suggestions or general tips for new HC players in future videos would be appreciated. Going back to watch your Ward Guide after this.

If anyone is having trouble with Lagon, you can stand on the left or right stairs while you attack the tentacles. If you are about half way down his eye beam that one shots you will completely whiff. One of his aoe's will target you but you can easily move out of the way and just continue shredding. This will also keep you safe from his waves later on in the fight.

Hey did you actually do this? I just downed the tree boss and I'm still missing 3 idol slots, don't see any remaining quests on my map that grant idol slots Edit: I had to run Liath's tower to get my last 3 idol slots. Couldn't see any quests I'd missed but maybe I missed an unmarked one or a time rift or something somewhere.
@@JoPOW7 You get the remaining idol slots when you reach the last act. You complete it and get the rest. So basically you go 1-5 or 1-7 and then complete or do some of act 9 and you have everything. i did 1-5 unlocked temporal, completed it, did act 9 and had avsolutely everything i needed. Its 100% doable.
@@ashleygoggs5679 the video says otherwise though - I think I found that I maybe missed a time rift thing that only shows the quest once you enter. Think it's in like act 6 and I just zoomed right past it Either way thankfully I just sped my way to the Liath Tower quest right at the start of act 8, and got it done. No need for act 9 at all, though I will probably use a friend to teleport to the final boss for the +1 attributes he mentions
This is exactly my thought after 117 hours. I agree with every single things. And I have been doing most of the things like that already. I just go after the exp tomes at all cost too. One other thing raxx probably forgot to mention the exp tomes also gives huge faction reputation and favor. So they are even more valuable. One last thing I’d add for monolith. If you are struggling at a boss or not 100% confident or out gearing a boss, then before engaging the boss or shade do an echo or 2 with modifiers that doesn’t do anything for a boss like ‘rare enemies do more damage and health, enemies chill on hit. If the boss gets 2 30% damage or health modifiers. And your character is not decently geared you might struggle a lot’.
The lightless arbhor fucking kicks my ass. Those bats with the sonic scream melts my ass even with all of the uniques that give me a ton of armor early on. By the time I’m strong enough to do it I’m already in front of the soulspire dungeon. I’m glad that you’re not just recommending that I keep slamming my head at lightless arbhor. I’m probably going to go back to my monolith ready character and create some of those “twink” items to make my life easier before going back to my alts.
Nice. So I put some unique boots on with the weavers will thing on there since I had no idea what it was. Not sure if anyone has gone over this yet. Anyhow, It put three random affixes on the boots, making them legendary (after the first one). Not the best affixes but pretty cool. It put health regen on and leveled it up three or four times, then move speed and leveled twice, then strength and leveled it a couple times. Pretty neat. Boots were advent of erased which give haste etc. They had 8% move speed implicit, 7% move speed affix, and the weaver's will added 16% move speed for a total of 31% plus haste when stuff dies.
WoW, and here I thought I was doing well with a level 100 Paladin, a 77 Beast Master and a 63 Shaman. OK I'm not doing so well LoL, thanks for the video, it will help. Thumbs up. The reason I went with a Paladin for my first character was shield rush, I ran through the game and then farmed all of the twink items I would need and the best drops I got were for the Beast Master and the shaman. Also, I was doing monoliths at 36 on my Paladin without problems but my Shaman was struggling, so I just waited until I leveled him some more
For the first character, your best bet is to pick a cheese class that lets you rush to endgame and supply your alts. I like Umbral Blades rogue with the Cacophany of Steel node in the skilltree. It's fun, fast movement with shift, and doesn't really need special gear to get started. Maybe do a video on "best first cycle character builds"?
Also a small addon to the blessings, the exp blessing you can get in the first monolith is pretty much best in slot, because more exp gained = more favor , even when you are lvl 100
Another trick with Jim Thomes is that if you want to respecc your skills and master another skill, maybe you want to change your build, do Jim's echo, open the reward, respecc, and THEN pick the tomes so you instantly level your newly mastered skills. That was even confirmed by the devs and they let it there as a feature for that particular reason.
Can i just say as a computer person, using microsoft note is free and an easy way to make text diagrams that are neat and easy to read. you can drag text around too its nice
100% agree on the campaign/dungeon skips. I started a second character as soon as I unlocked monoliths on my first and tried to skip the whole campaign via the keys and just got wrecked. It was not fun. I ended up playing through to act 5 before I decided to try the dungeons again and by then I'd leveled to the point where they were a cake walk. Slept through Soulfire Bastion and Temporal Sanctum, could finally access the observatory and started running monoliths. Leveled from about level 38 to 55 in no time at all.

Raxx: "Go down the right path of monoliths". Me who's never played endgame LE: "Yes, you have to go down the right path, most people don't realize that."
To even further encourage people to focus on the tome reward in echoes especially when you get there early and/or your skills are not yet lvl 20, it's worth noting that the exp the tomes give also count towards skill exp. Certain skill levels can get you right there to the breakpoint where your build lifts off so there's even more incentive. GUARANTEED accelerated extra power for your entire character through your passsive tree, all your skill trees and your faction from a single echo completion reward. Compare this to some random glyphs, shards, rares that may or may not help you for the time being.
Having done the dungeon run... I agree. It was super annoying to figure out where to go to get all the passives/idol slots. They need to add some mechanic to get them. Like, after you complete a dungeon, you get all the passives/idol slots for the acts skipped.
You do story until you reach the oracles abode and get the temporal dungeon quest. After finishing it you are already capped on passive skill points. Now go do monoliths until you reach a level you think is safe to do the temporal dungeon.
Yeah I got a 4 potential Harthenon's, and even if I play casters, ima make a very special filter rule to get a completely bonkers physical exalted and slam it in there. Then Sentinel and Primalist will be very GG. Thank you, Last Epoch, for adding value to low level items and making me excited to loot them even though they're completely useless to my character at the moment.
What's nice about LE is you don't even need a leveling strategy, its fun to just make a new character, build around a different legendary/skill each time you level and it doesn't feel like a grind, each class has many different ways you can play it so it can feel different every time.
I did the dungeon method on my second character i was able to get from 1-70 in a day but what i recommend is that the first couple of important idol and passive point missions come in the ice area so i recommend after sould bastion to do the ice area missions before going to temporal that will jump to the end of the campaign to then do the idol missions their and shoot u straight too the end if u complete the two crucial in the ice are after the soul bastion dungeon and the other missions for idols in the last are of the story you are pretty much good to go to do monoliths with everything
I feel like when I did the full campaign, I was still missing 3 idol quests (5/8) by the time I killed the tree, I am fairly certain I did all the side quests and main quests up to that point but ofc I wasn't paying to it as much attention as Raxx who ran through the game multiple times. Similarly Zyzz made a video of how you can skip all the way to act 9 and be able to get all your passives / idols in act 9 which also wasn't true and there were an idol quest and 2 passive quests still missing after killing the last boss for which I had to go back. Ofc this wasn't much of an issue because I outlevled those zones by a lot but still it isn't as straight forward as presented, or ofc I could be an idiot who missed something. As far as strategy 4 is concerned, you would need to do Soulfire Bastion, then go back to act 5 area (between lightless and Soulfire), go kill Admiral Crabs (Harton), and go straight to the portal that leads to the void timeline that leads to Temporal Sanctum (won't need to go to Abode at this point because you are ahead of it by finishing SoulFire bastion)
one thing I'll like to note is that it is hard to run through the zones on your first play through, at least until you have enough movement speed and a traversal + defensive skill, cuz the enemies slap and slow you (think the "slow" is actually just a pathing logic thing).
this is perfect, just made my first Sentinel after capping my Torment Warlock and leaving my Runemaster at 91/92 since i wasn't having fun with it anymore. i plan on making a Primalist after and i heard leveling that is miserable.
the LA key doesn't typically drop until somewhere in Act 4. So dungeons would be a tricky to do on a first playthrough. Definitely a "Atl Toon" option though.
I suggested adding 1-2 passive points (whatever's needed) and 1 idol slot unlock per dungeon on your first completion, that'd make dungeons + act 9 a viable self-contained path. I hope EHG does that.
Soulfire Bastion doesn't actually drop you off in the right spot. It puts you in act 7, the temporal sanctum entrance is at the start of act 5. You don't ever need to do Soulfire Bastion to skip the campaign. One thing to keep in mind is if you're fighting high level enemies, the exp they give is as if they were 5 levels higher than you. So it's never worth slowly slogging through enemies, but if you can kill them reasonably fast, the exp books in the monoliths and the extra density works nicely to speed level. If you want to do the biggest skip possible, this is a good route I have found for Softcore solo play if you want to kill the final boss for the all stats: Do Act 1, Act 1 ends when you hit the ruined era. Do the storeroom sidequest for 1 passive point. Do Act 2, Act 2 ends when you enter the end of time for the first time after killing Elder Pannion. Do the Elder Ezra quest if you need one of the rewards, do the armory sidequest for a passive. After Act 2, if you're strong enough, go straight to monoliths. Falconer crushes monoliths even at level 20. Basically any point in the progression below, if you can handle the level 58 monolith reasonably efficiently without dying, go do it and hunt for exp book rewards. In Act 3: do the cultist camp quests, the lost refuge sidequest and the time rift sidequest, and then run Lightless Arbor. Lightless arbor spits you out two zones before the end of act 4. In Act 4: Run the ruined lake quest. Go kill Harton. In Act5 : Run the Sapphire Tablet area and get the tablet, go through the time rift to get the temporal sanctum waypoint. Then go all the way to the Oracle's abode, turn in the tablet quest and talk to the Oracle. Do the hidden gems quest along the way. Run temporal sanctum. You probably want to be level 45+ to make T1 Julra easy to fight. In Act 9: do the hidden relic quest, Kill Arjani because she's basically on your way, kill the scalebrane leader. Do the sidequest in the crystal mines and then go kill the final boss. I believe this gets you all the passive points and idols you need and is pretty efficient overall, though there might be even more optimal pathing. Regarding Twink Items, for non-dot builds, Mourning Frost with movespeed is S+ tier as long as you get dex on other legendaries, as is a Kestrel with Dex, %health and flat health (very easy to get 3LP Kestrel). You can run these with Mad Alchemist's Ladle and one shot everything. I also like running 3-4 LP Peak of the Mountain with dex on it, and Cradle of the Erased is an insane leveling shield. An easy way to get tons of dex is via the Jungle Chaps belt, which also gives 12 potions which really help if you enter monos at level 20.
I think that you should prioritize Runes and then Experience until you have enough stashes purchased that you are able to buy Runes of Shattering as needed. Stashes are more important early on.
While doing Strategy 3 you can do Lightless Abor to skip chapter 3 and most of chapter 4. After that while doimg chapter 9 you can go back to Imperial Maj'Elka to do Harton's Idol for final idol slots.
I would say.. when you do monos, if it is convinient also kill the exile and take the chest. The exiles drop those experimental items that will make many builds way better. Especially the low life gloves.. and if you do a life build the mod that gives you a lot of endurance threshold when not hit within 4 seconds is good as well. The haste on traversal is also good. And they drop the ladle.. So yeah worth taking them too if you see them on the way.
The Exp bonus from the first monolith should probably be taken over anything even at 100 if you're running CoF. The favor you get is tied to the exp that you gain so you'll actually receive 10% more items from the extra prophecies that you'll be getting.
Nice video. I feel Last Epoch is a very easy game. It's like watching a racing car driving in circles. Every build is effective if you invest time into reading the skill description. I got a video up where group of mobs exploded after I ran through them and my character was a lvl 21 Necromancer. The game feel very linear because I know I'll be doing the same thing in the late game as I'm doing right now at lvl 21. I try Monolith (lvl 54 area) and I've notice the trash mobs there take longer to kill. This mean their health and defense got buff up tremendously. That's pretty much it. I got bored of the game in half a day. Some would say it's a 1 button game because it's so easy.
Lesser tip: Don't respec skill points until the Eagle-riding boss in the campaign (around level 9), you'll have an easier time with him, and craft as many times as you can. Crafting is so important in LE, check if you can keep crafting items every 3-5 levels.
@@buddyogun2247 No, crafting during the campaign speeds up going through it quite a bit. Unless you're using a bunch of twink items already, of course.
You do have to, or really should, go tag the TS dungeon right away on strats 2 and 3, go to Majelka (sp?), and go to your faction house as soon as you can. You don't complete prophecies until you do.
Great guide! I tried strategy 3 but I am still missing some idols slot exactly 7/8 and I finished act 9 but no more side quests while I was completing them.
One thing I learned the hard way: A character that's solo self found does not share their stash with your other characters. Turning SSF off means you will lose your stash and gold and shards / runes (but you keep whatever is in your character and their personal inventory). I bit the bullet and did it cause I want to share gear and stash between chars and this was my first char.
There is no diminishing returns on corruption (DR) so you should really push it far as you can early when you hit a wall than do the tomes. They grant % of level as reward do they are much more valuable late 90s
best weapon in. the game imo. merophage you don't need ts crafting. all you need is to take a 2h sword with affixes you want, shatter it, and it turns your merophage legendary. with the affixes from the 2h sword you shattered. bonus is that you can keep shattering until you find that perfect exalted 2h sword it great plus merophage offers inherent t life leech
Recently started a new twinked toon, and realised that you don't need to do dungeons to skip to end content. After finishing Act 3, I just walked into monoliths and started doing echos at level 25, so you may need to update this leveling guide for path 2/3. And for anyone curious, healing hands + divine bolts + firestarter's torch is just ridiculously op.
You didn't mention the other HUGE reason to prioritize both the XP blessing and picking up tomes; Tomes will give you loads of favor, and the xp bonus acts as a multiplier on faction progress. The bonus from tomes scale with corruption.
This sure helps a lot espcially the first part was pretty good to know. Makes me want to make more chars once I finished my first time playthrough (gonna be today most likely). I have one question when it comes to leveling your passives. Once you choose have choosen your mastery do you first level your choosen mastery to the point where you get all the skills and/or passives you want out of it and ignore the others? Or is it better to go for the best synergies no matter the mastery they are in? I know maybe basic but I have a hard time deciding which of those two options is the one that is better.
Legendary potential not adding level requirement is insane for leveling uniques. You get 2 T7 mods on a level 0 unique, you start the game with a weapon strong enough to get you to monoliths. But you need that first character to able to get the LP uniques and T7 mods. The initial investment will make leveling alts so much easily, faster and just more fun.
Excellent guide. Like some of the other posters, i had no idea what part of the campaign i was on. I only realized i was done when i got the quests for monoliths. I'm no where near making an alt, but am i right in assuming if i make an alt I still need to do at least part of the campaign?

another good tip is prolly item implicits/flat damage are strong in this game. Phys res is a good stat to have while leveling
I agree. I have been running leveling alts with phys res. Definitely makes it easier to dredge through mobs.

My firestarters torch with T7 flat Fire, T6 increased fire damage and T5 ignite chance is my pride and joy for levelling

One of his aoe's will target you but you can easily move out of the way and just continue shredding. This will also keep you safe from his waves later on in the fight.

Hey did you actually do this? I just downed the tree boss and I'm still missing 3 idol slots, don't see any remaining quests on my map that grant idol slots
Edit: I had to run Liath's tower to get my last 3 idol slots. Couldn't see any quests I'd missed but maybe I missed an unmarked one or a time rift or something somewhere.
@@JoPOW7 You get the remaining idol slots when you reach the last act. You complete it and get the rest. So basically you go 1-5 or 1-7 and then complete or do some of act 9 and you have everything.
i did 1-5 unlocked temporal, completed it, did act 9 and had avsolutely everything i needed. Its 100% doable.
@@ashleygoggs5679 the video says otherwise though - I think I found that I maybe missed a time rift thing that only shows the quest once you enter. Think it's in like act 6 and I just zoomed right past it
Either way thankfully I just sped my way to the Liath Tower quest right at the start of act 8, and got it done. No need for act 9 at all, though I will probably use a friend to teleport to the final boss for the +1 attributes he mentions

This is exactly my thought after 117 hours. I agree with every single things. And I have been doing most of the things like that already. I just go after the exp tomes at all cost too. One other thing raxx probably forgot to mention the exp tomes also gives huge faction reputation and favor. So they are even more valuable. One last thing I’d add for monolith. If you are struggling at a boss or not 100% confident or out gearing a boss, then before engaging the boss or shade do an echo or 2 with modifiers that doesn’t do anything for a boss like ‘rare enemies do more damage and health, enemies chill on hit. If the boss gets 2 30% damage or health modifiers. And your character is not decently geared you might struggle a lot’.

The lightless arbhor fucking kicks my ass. Those bats with the sonic scream melts my ass even with all of the uniques that give me a ton of armor early on. By the time I’m strong enough to do it I’m already in front of the soulspire dungeon. I’m glad that you’re not just recommending that I keep slamming my head at lightless arbhor.
I’m probably going to go back to my monolith ready character and create some of those “twink” items to make my life easier before going back to my alts.
Nice. So I put some unique boots on with the weavers will thing on there since I had no idea what it was. Not sure if anyone has gone over this yet. Anyhow, It put three random affixes on the boots, making them legendary (after the first one). Not the best affixes but pretty cool. It put health regen on and leveled it up three or four times, then move speed and leveled twice, then strength and leveled it a couple times. Pretty neat. Boots were advent of erased which give haste etc. They had 8% move speed implicit, 7% move speed affix, and the weaver's will added 16% move speed for a total of 31% plus haste when stuff dies.
WoW, and here I thought I was doing well with a level 100 Paladin, a 77 Beast Master and a 63 Shaman. OK I'm not doing so well LoL, thanks for the video, it will help. Thumbs up. The reason I went with a Paladin for my first character was shield rush, I ran through the game and then farmed all of the twink items I would need and the best drops I got were for the Beast Master and the shaman. Also, I was doing monoliths at 36 on my Paladin without problems but my Shaman was struggling, so I just waited until I leveled him some more
For the first character, your best bet is to pick a cheese class that lets you rush to endgame and supply your alts. I like Umbral Blades rogue with the Cacophany of Steel node in the skilltree. It's fun, fast movement with shift, and doesn't really need special gear to get started. Maybe do a video on "best first cycle character builds"?
Also a small addon to the blessings, the exp blessing you can get in the first monolith is pretty much best in slot, because more exp gained = more favor , even when you are lvl 100
Another trick with Jim Thomes is that if you want to respecc your skills and master another skill, maybe you want to change your build, do Jim's echo, open the reward, respecc, and THEN pick the tomes so you instantly level your newly mastered skills. That was even confirmed by the devs and they let it there as a feature for that particular reason.

Can i just say as a computer person, using microsoft note is free and an easy way to make text diagrams that are neat and easy to read. you can drag text around too its nice
100% agree on the campaign/dungeon skips. I started a second character as soon as I unlocked monoliths on my first and tried to skip the whole campaign via the keys and just got wrecked. It was not fun. I ended up playing through to act 5 before I decided to try the dungeons again and by then I'd leveled to the point where they were a cake walk. Slept through Soulfire Bastion and Temporal Sanctum, could finally access the observatory and started running monoliths. Leveled from about level 38 to 55 in no time at all.

Me who's never played endgame LE: "Yes, you have to go down the right path, most people don't realize that."
To even further encourage people to focus on the tome reward in echoes especially when you get there early and/or your skills are not yet lvl 20, it's worth noting that the exp the tomes give also count towards skill exp. Certain skill levels can get you right there to the breakpoint where your build lifts off so there's even more incentive. GUARANTEED accelerated extra power for your entire character through your passsive tree, all your skill trees and your faction from a single echo completion reward. Compare this to some random glyphs, shards, rares that may or may not help you for the time being.

Having done the dungeon run... I agree. It was super annoying to figure out where to go to get all the passives/idol slots. They need to add some mechanic to get them. Like, after you complete a dungeon, you get all the passives/idol slots for the acts skipped.

You do story until you reach the oracles abode and get the temporal dungeon quest. After finishing it you are already capped on passive skill points.
Now go do monoliths until you reach a level you think is safe to do the temporal dungeon.

Yeah I got a 4 potential Harthenon's, and even if I play casters, ima make a very special filter rule to get a completely bonkers physical exalted and slam it in there. Then Sentinel and Primalist will be very GG. Thank you, Last Epoch, for adding value to low level items and making me excited to loot them even though they're completely useless to my character at the moment.

What's nice about LE is you don't even need a leveling strategy, its fun to just make a new character, build around a different legendary/skill each time you level and it doesn't feel like a grind, each class has many different ways you can play it so it can feel different every time.
I did the dungeon method on my second character i was able to get from 1-70 in a day but what i recommend is that the first couple of important idol and passive point missions come in the ice area so i recommend after sould bastion to do the ice area missions before going to temporal that will jump to the end of the campaign to then do the idol missions their and shoot u straight too the end if u complete the two crucial in the ice are after the soul bastion dungeon and the other missions for idols in the last are of the story you are pretty much good to go to do monoliths with everything
I feel like when I did the full campaign, I was still missing 3 idol quests (5/8) by the time I killed the tree, I am fairly certain I did all the side quests and main quests up to that point but ofc I wasn't paying to it as much attention as Raxx who ran through the game multiple times. Similarly Zyzz made a video of how you can skip all the way to act 9 and be able to get all your passives / idols in act 9 which also wasn't true and there were an idol quest and 2 passive quests still missing after killing the last boss for which I had to go back. Ofc this wasn't much of an issue because I outlevled those zones by a lot but still it isn't as straight forward as presented, or ofc I could be an idiot who missed something.
As far as strategy 4 is concerned, you would need to do Soulfire Bastion, then go back to act 5 area (between lightless and Soulfire), go kill Admiral Crabs (Harton), and go straight to the portal that leads to the void timeline that leads to Temporal Sanctum (won't need to go to Abode at this point because you are ahead of it by finishing SoulFire bastion)
one thing I'll like to note is that it is hard to run through the zones on your first play through, at least until you have enough movement speed and a traversal + defensive skill, cuz the enemies slap and slow you (think the "slow" is actually just a pathing logic thing).

this is perfect, just made my first Sentinel after capping my Torment Warlock and leaving my Runemaster at 91/92 since i wasn't having fun with it anymore. i plan on making a Primalist after and i heard leveling that is miserable.
the LA key doesn't typically drop until somewhere in Act 4. So dungeons would be a tricky to do on a first playthrough. Definitely a "Atl Toon" option though.
I suggested adding 1-2 passive points (whatever's needed) and 1 idol slot unlock per dungeon on your first completion, that'd make dungeons + act 9 a viable self-contained path. I hope EHG does that.

My leveling recommendation is to prioritize attack speed & movement speed on gear, and prioritize damage & area on skills.
Soulfire Bastion doesn't actually drop you off in the right spot. It puts you in act 7, the temporal sanctum entrance is at the start of act 5. You don't ever need to do Soulfire Bastion to skip the campaign. One thing to keep in mind is if you're fighting high level enemies, the exp they give is as if they were 5 levels higher than you. So it's never worth slowly slogging through enemies, but if you can kill them reasonably fast, the exp books in the monoliths and the extra density works nicely to speed level.
If you want to do the biggest skip possible, this is a good route I have found for Softcore solo play if you want to kill the final boss for the all stats:
Do Act 1, Act 1 ends when you hit the ruined era. Do the storeroom sidequest for 1 passive point.
Do Act 2, Act 2 ends when you enter the end of time for the first time after killing Elder Pannion. Do the Elder Ezra quest if you need one of the rewards, do the armory sidequest for a passive.
After Act 2, if you're strong enough, go straight to monoliths. Falconer crushes monoliths even at level 20. Basically any point in the progression below, if you can handle the level 58 monolith reasonably efficiently without dying, go do it and hunt for exp book rewards.
In Act 3: do the cultist camp quests, the lost refuge sidequest and the time rift sidequest, and then run Lightless Arbor. Lightless arbor spits you out two zones before the end of act 4.
In Act 4: Run the ruined lake quest. Go kill Harton.
In Act5 : Run the Sapphire Tablet area and get the tablet, go through the time rift to get the temporal sanctum waypoint. Then go all the way to the Oracle's abode, turn in the tablet quest and talk to the Oracle. Do the hidden gems quest along the way.
Run temporal sanctum. You probably want to be level 45+ to make T1 Julra easy to fight.
In Act 9: do the hidden relic quest, Kill Arjani because she's basically on your way, kill the scalebrane leader. Do the sidequest in the crystal mines and then go kill the final boss.
I believe this gets you all the passive points and idols you need and is pretty efficient overall, though there might be even more optimal pathing.
Regarding Twink Items, for non-dot builds, Mourning Frost with movespeed is S+ tier as long as you get dex on other legendaries, as is a Kestrel with Dex, %health and flat health (very easy to get 3LP Kestrel). You can run these with Mad Alchemist's Ladle and one shot everything. I also like running 3-4 LP Peak of the Mountain with dex on it, and Cradle of the Erased is an insane leveling shield. An easy way to get tons of dex is via the Jungle Chaps belt, which also gives 12 potions which really help if you enter monos at level 20.
I think that you should prioritize Runes and then Experience until you have enough stashes purchased that you are able to buy Runes of Shattering as needed. Stashes are more important early on.
While doing Strategy 3 you can do Lightless Abor to skip chapter 3 and most of chapter 4. After that while doimg chapter 9 you can go back to Imperial Maj'Elka to do Harton's Idol for final idol slots.
I would say.. when you do monos, if it is convinient also kill the exile and take the chest.
The exiles drop those experimental items that will make many builds way better. Especially the low life gloves.. and if you do a life build the mod that gives you a lot of endurance threshold when not hit within 4 seconds is good as well. The haste on traversal is also good.
And they drop the ladle.. So yeah worth taking them too if you see them on the way.
The Exp bonus from the first monolith should probably be taken over anything even at 100 if you're running CoF. The favor you get is tied to the exp that you gain so you'll actually receive 10% more items from the extra prophecies that you'll be getting.

I feel Last Epoch is a very easy game. It's like watching a racing car driving in circles. Every build is effective if you invest time into reading the skill description. I got a video up where group of mobs exploded after I ran through them and my character was a lvl 21 Necromancer. The game feel very linear because I know I'll be doing the same thing in the late game as I'm doing right now at lvl 21.
I try Monolith (lvl 54 area) and I've notice the trash mobs there take longer to kill. This mean their health and defense got buff up tremendously. That's pretty much it. I got bored of the game in half a day. Some would say it's a 1 button game because it's so easy.

Lesser tip: Don't respec skill points until the Eagle-riding boss in the campaign (around level 9), you'll have an easier time with him, and craft as many times as you can. Crafting is so important in LE, check if you can keep crafting items every 3-5 levels.

You do have to, or really should, go tag the TS dungeon right away on strats 2 and 3, go to Majelka (sp?), and go to your faction house as soon as you can. You don't complete prophecies until you do.

One thing I learned the hard way: A character that's solo self found does not share their stash with your other characters. Turning SSF off means you will lose your stash and gold and shards / runes (but you keep whatever is in your character and their personal inventory). I bit the bullet and did it cause I want to share gear and stash between chars and this was my first char.
You can play SSF and share with other characters (that's what I do), but you have to select solo account found and not solo character found.
I chose SAF for my 1st character, I also cannot share stash space.

There is no diminishing returns on corruption (DR) so you should really push it far as you can early when you hit a wall than do the tomes. They grant % of level as reward do they are much more valuable late 90s

all you need is to take a 2h sword with affixes you want, shatter it, and it turns your merophage legendary. with the affixes from the 2h sword you shattered.
bonus is that you can keep shattering until you find that perfect exalted 2h sword

Recently started a new twinked toon, and realised that you don't need to do dungeons to skip to end content. After finishing Act 3, I just walked into monoliths and started doing echos at level 25, so you may need to update this leveling guide for path 2/3. And for anyone curious, healing hands + divine bolts + firestarter's torch is just ridiculously op.
You didn't mention the other HUGE reason to prioritize both the XP blessing and picking up tomes; Tomes will give you loads of favor, and the xp bonus acts as a multiplier on faction progress. The bonus from tomes scale with corruption.

This sure helps a lot espcially the first part was pretty good to know. Makes me want to make more chars once I finished my first time playthrough (gonna be today most likely).
I have one question when it comes to leveling your passives. Once you choose have choosen your mastery do you first level your choosen mastery to the point where you get all the skills and/or passives you want out of it and ignore the others? Or is it better to go for the best synergies no matter the mastery they are in? I know maybe basic but I have a hard time deciding which of those two options is the one that is better.
Legendary potential not adding level requirement is insane for leveling uniques. You get 2 T7 mods on a level 0 unique, you start the game with a weapon strong enough to get you to monoliths.
But you need that first character to able to get the LP uniques and T7 mods. The initial investment will make leveling alts so much easily, faster and just more fun.

Excellent guide. Like some of the other posters, i had no idea what part of the campaign i was on. I only realized i was done when i got the quests for monoliths. I'm no where near making an alt, but am i right in assuming if i make an alt I still need to do at least part of the campaign?
