    Great video. I am not a big fan of foam or sponge humidifiers at all though. It you fill those up, you are at 100% RH - depending on the leakage of the humidor. Boveda packs will do the trick of actively maintaining the right level. Also, it should be mentioned that a humidor off the shelf usually is bone-dry and needs zo per preconditioned before putting the cigars into it. There is a Boveda Humidor Starter Kit for that as well!

    You don't need one of these fancy humidors because not only are they very expensive, they're also very hard to maintain not to mention don't keep a steady humidity. The best way that's also the cheapest to keep your cigars is to just get a mason jar & put your cigars in their or a airtight container with a boveda pack inside stored out of direct sunlight.

    Can you bring back a cigar that was dryed out or is it ruined

    • @nextcigarofficial
      @nextcigarofficial  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Assuming you have a tabletop humidor, take a towel and moisten it with distilled water. Take your moist towel and wipe the walls of the humidor clean. The point of doing this is to take precautionary steps to avoid potential bugs or mould.
      With a moist towel, re-moisten the humidification part of the humidor with distilled water. The humidor should return to the optimal 70-degree humidity equilibrium. The cigar(s) being kept inside should also return to the optimal humidity within a couple weeks or so, depending on the cigar's ring gauge size.
      Finally, check if your cigar has been salvaged by gently squeezing it between your fingers.

      No! Leave the cellophane on! If you store them individually, always store them in cellophane or tube, unless you intend to smoke them within a few days. If you intend to store them for more than a few months, always leave them in cellophane or tube. Cigars stored individually without cellophane or tube tend to lose their aroma over time.

      Yes, Non-Cuban cigars are often sealed in little wrappers, but cellophane is organic (cello comes from the word cellulose) and breath, but they will keep the moisture in longer than if they were naked.
      If you do completely seal a cigar off using some other method, it will eventually dry out.

    As a cigar smoker of over 20+ years, I'm sorry, these guys lost me at the very beginning of their video with their #1 Tip. You have that beautiful humidor and you're using florist foam humidification devices to humidify it?? (at least that's what it looks like). I looked on their website to find out what kind of humidification they are using and all I find are generic terms for their shop. Davidoff de Luxe regulator or Davidoff Slim Regulator (what are they ??). No where on their website does it way what they are made of, or if you can order them separately. If you want to deal with possible mold issues, over humidifying or under, by all means use one of those devices. But I wouldn't, not when there are so many better alternatives out there. After that, there was no point in me watching the rest of the video.
