I think a reason that Marte is so good is that she really takes Magnus' advice into account. It hit me when I saw a quick close-up of her placing her foot. You can tell beginners so often that they should use their toes but some just don't, for whatever reason (fear/disregard/strength).
I think her foot placement actually comes back to her grip exercises, as odd as it sounds. She is obviously more confident in her grip strength, so she can take more risks with her feet.

I have size 12 feet and am lanky and weigh 13 stone so thats a lot of weight on my skinny fee to take on my toes. Its not always the best option ande the leverage easily pulls my feet off. The percentage of my foot that is on a hold at any given moment is much less than the average climber and I have the leverege and additional weight
9:10 Rúngne should start making pants with an extra patch on the leg just for smacking chalk on them to use it later on the boulder (patent not registered)
Yeah, sometimes seeing Magus flashing V11s shocks me because he never usually does anything harder than 9s in the videos. I forget how strong he really is

Marte is looking super strong in this video. Very impressive. The combination of hangboard training and having Coach Magnus has brought her up very quickly. The slab of the week was incredible. One of the most interesting boulders I've seen. Great video!

I would be interested in a video on preparing for a climbing competition. How do you train the week before? Lower intensity? What do you eat the days before? Morning routine? Warmup? What do you eat and drink during a competition? Really love the videos =)
It's a great way for beginners to start hang boarding! 5 seconds, pretty far away from failure for as often as you 'fancy'. Most likely great gains in finger strength for a beginner without real risk of overdoing it. It's evident that Marte is much more confident in holding on, and climbing really well.
I recently started climbing (2 months ago) and from watching your videos I have learnt so many techniques, the other day I completed my first 6a+ route, using some of the techniques that I have watched both marte and you do, I hope to continue in the future as you have given me a love for climbing :)

Because if she doesn't see it at first and doesn't know what to do other than trying maybe acknowledging what she has done to solve the problems could help with that, it also doesn't take long to do so it's not an inconvenience for videos. Because of Marte, I have started finger boarding. I always thought it was only for very experienced climbers, but when I saw her doing it, I thought, well there goes that excuse, I bought two of them one for my bedroom, and one for the living room.

Beginners don’t use their toes because they forget to use their toes or dk how to use them. It’s that simple.
Putting weight on toes is normally quite painful for those that are not yet conditioned - simple!
