Well, pro basically just means professional, in the sense that it's for money. The root word of amateur is amour, I believe, so an amateur climber is technically just a climber that climbs for love of climbing instead of money. He's still a really good climber, but he's not getting any younger, so making money in other ways, and climbing when he wants to was always his endgame. There's a reason he invests in climbing gyms, and now Rúngne.

I don't really get that. To me, if something was your entire career, you reached the absolute highest level, and remain an expert... like once a pro always a pro. It doesn't require qualification if you're still active in the field. When it's relevant you can say retired, but it's not inaccurate to just say professional.

After months of deliberation, reading and watching videos about climbing, I finally started *actual* beginner climbing myself. Man, it's so much more difficult than I thought. These beginners with Magnus are actually pretty awesome. I struggle to even stay on the wall for more than a minute; on the easiest traverse in the hall which is meant for genuine babies. If you think you're bad at climbing, always be sure there are even worse beginners than you who struggle even more. But no matter how bad we are, if we keep at it, eventually we'll get better, I'm sure. There's nothing better than feeling your whole body beat up after a relatively short climbing session. It's the most efficient sport out there in terms of time.

I'd love to try the speed wall sometimes. All I've heard about it is that it is actually surprisingly really hard to just climb it slow and static like a normal route, as the moves are always huge and depend on this dynamic momentum to flow. So you need to be experienced enough climber to have this kind of confidence to attack it for it to be 6b'ish or whatever it is graded. So not surprised at all to see Andreas struggle with it, pros make it look just unreal :D

Hey Magnus, a climber from India here, really enjoyed this one because I particularly like speed over the other disciplines. Looking forward to the next speed video.

Any word on when the chalk bags will be back in stock? Your channel got me into bouldering about two months ago. I'm loving it, I'm in the best shape I've been in for some time, and I've been holding out on getting a different bag because I'd like to give back by picking up yours. Unfortunately, a consequence of this is that I've never climbed with chalk before...

It’s probably gonna be a little while. We have had problems with the manufacturer. But they will be back!

We should get Magnus to do some explosive strength training with the Mawem brothers, that would be a good challenge with these beasts

There is this one guy doing youtube as well. He is not the quickest of all, but you can do other things with him as well. Gues you even have heared of him. But so far, I have not seen you two in the same video. Just ask Alex Megos. Would love to see you guys going for it together.
