I think KTM really did a very smart move with the Duke 790. The only bike with 2 cylinders of that size parallel to each other. And yet, vibes under control with 2 counter balancers. This engine platform is a silent revolution of sorts. Great torque, extra-ordinary tractability, and superb flexibility. It's cousin is already outpacing and hunting down tigers around it. This one is really challenging the throne of a certain triple as the king of B roads. I reckon it will win the crown easily. I am a huge fan of the i4 scream and the i3 howl. But this engine, is something else. It dares to be different. Takes a totally different approach and nails it. Most Indians who say z900 is better don't understand the importance of a great chassis. This is the practical version of the capabilities of the RC8. It is still one of the best chassis put in between 2 wheels. People who look at the spec sheet can and should go ahead and buy the z900 and the STriple. Let this be that rare Indian treat from mattighofen that only few enjoy, like that bitter Lager your friends dislike and buy a Bud. They won't understand. They will open the throttles at straights and red lights and look around for appreciating eyes. While a few of us will be laughing like a little kid on that awesome roller coaster for the first time as we dive into corners with reckless abandon. I couldn't understand why so many comments on 'i had rather buy the z900' or the street triple is better are getting so many likes and so many agreements. Now, I don't care. This here is a special machine. People who know, will just nod. P. S - let me be the first to say this. I missed Sarge for the first time on PD in a really long time. Varun, you are great and it's a good review. But i have had the image of sarge saying 'why you really want to buy this bike, is this!' and wheelie the living daylights out of it right when the prototype scalpel broke into the picture..
I don't know man. Not wearing a riding gear isn't the only definition for squids. Riding in a sensible manner with knowledge of when to split lanes is as important as riding with full gears. One guy on Z900 cut me off very dangerously while I was driving my Nexon. I too was at 140kmph while he cut into my lane and brake hard without any warning and then again accelerate into another lane. He was riding with full gear. I believe he too belongs to squid category. Infact people with splendor know what the road sign means but this guys don't. So, Pricing isn't a parameter here.
I don't understand how being a squid could be associated with the pricing of a motorcycle. There are just two kinds of people, those who respect road safety and those who just don't get it.

Powerdrift and other Channels and Journalists only got to ride the bike at the Bajaj Chakan circuit, hence they did not mention the engine heating and the engine noise. These issues may creep in only when we get a proper city review and not just a first ride review. Hope this helps, cheers

You failed to mention a very very important thing which even @Nilesh missed, ie the jerkiness under 3k RPM. The Fueling on the Duke 790 is jerky at lower RPMs, you expect a motorcycle costing 10 lac to have spot on fueling, not everyone is going to wring its neck on a race track :) Please bring back the PD we fell in love with. Your cinematography is on point, you guys need to focus on details, which you seem to miss a lot these days, be less worried about whether or not a manufacturer will give you a bike or favor you, and worry more about being detail oriented.

First off, the cinematography and editing are top notch! As expected out of powerdrift. Most of the comments here support that but, review sadly isn't like powerdrift or what personally made me subscribe to the channel. How's the bikes performance in various ranges? Low,mid and top. How's the ground clearance, how's the engine performance under stress.. does it heat like crazy ss duke390 and rc do? Do vibrations creep in if yes, when? 9 modes of traction control are there, but how well does a twin cylinder compare against the inline 4 and triple cylinder of competitors? I hope u cover all this in the detailed review. Cheers :)
How can it give 20kmpl mileage in city My duke 390 gives a mileage of 15 to 18kmpl in city🤔 Also the only thing which lets me down is the front headlight I will never upgrade to a same looking bike🥴

I bought a 790 Duke a few weeks ago and it's a fantastic bike. So fun to ride, comfortable, incredible handling and agility and quick. Feels small and nimble.
I don't see this as an iconic figure from ktm ... because it just looks like a more furious counterpart of duke390 with lot of electronics on offer ... however if we learn to use all those electronic stuff then we would never complain about the pricing ... a perfect machine for experienced riders... But now if ktm can bring down a adventure 390 within 3 lakh onroad price that would be a bang in Indian market👏 ... And PD , i expected duke kind of power wheelie at the start🏍🐒 .... awesome video guys...❤

well like I have mentioned earlier ur video production/editing quality has gone down, and nowadays I have seen that you don't even do a color correction on your videos ... compared to the old ones you guys used to produce these look cheap ... now the bike. it doesn't even look premium if you compare to Tripple street or any other bikes in the segment, and I really feel the same at the flaw of the exhaust it's going to make the pillion feel the heat or even burn ... but u have ridden it, now you should do a comparison video next with all the same segment bikes, to give a better perspective and help in deciding for aspirants
I am the category who only gave mechanical and auto mobile in the allotment for engineering... For me all those long list of electronics is not a substitute for the inline 4 Japanese engin... z900😍😍😍
