Beautiful singer, a banjo artist, and fantastic writer. She's unconventionally beautiful, wildly sexy and knows it. A very special person that produces very special music. She's one in a generation.

The more I hear Mean Mary, the more I fall in love. True Americana Music, with hints of Bluegrass, Folk and Celtic meshed together into what is truly beautiful music. Great story telling and great composition and arrangement of the music draw you into this amazing trance with Mary's "Old Banjo". I didn't want it to stop. Found this girl a few years ago randomly surfing TH-cam. What a traditional singer of these songs. Blending folk music with American Indian overtones and a unique voice that perfectly fits the melody.

Love the Celtic vibe to this song. Takes me back to childhood, with friends and family at the ceilidh. The big cast iron stove banishing the chill outside. While inside, the music played and we sang the old songs from Home. Anyone with Scots or Irish roots will appreciate this one.

I would love here to come to the mountians of Virginia an do a show. Us folks out here dont go to the coast or in the big cities, Her show in sept was on the coast. Maybe next time around she may be able to come out this way. We would be happy. I would be willing to pay far more than the 20$ that was asked at that show.

Mean Mary James in this video is as close to Enya musically and visually as any North American performer, and does so without resorting to copying or imitating. Absolutely magical and a compliment to them both.

As I sit here now, it’s still more than a day away from the premier of this latest music video from Mean Mary. To pass the time, I find myself listening to the song “Old Banjo” from Mean Mary’s “Portrait of a Woman” album while reading the song lyrics found in the description of the video. Together, that’s an enchanting experience. I can definitely picture this song, sung by Mean Mary, as a film score for some movie.
I also wrote my experience up a little bit from this one. i will paste it here . Ma'am i have been following you for a while now. I have watched your progression threw the winds of time . As the sound floods my mind an soul i seat an remember my day's traveling the very same line. I grew up on this very music that would be masterfully presented to the yard of the family of friend's as we also rememebered the times of living on the very same line. Time has a way of having you remember what were hard yet fun time's then understand things can been worse. Ma'am thank you for the music that paints a picture of those wonderful memeories .

I'm a life long musician from the Appalachian mountains performing everything from bluegrass gospel to heavy metal of course I'm going to check out a video regarding a banjo and glad I did. Mary you had me as putty in you hands from the start with your beauty, flawless vocals,then musical style. I seen and played a lot of instruments but I have to say that's about the coolest damn banjo I've ever saw. Sky is the limit for you Gorgeous Mary.... I'm a fan⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Someday, I hope to drive down to Tucson see Mary play live again....with a monsoon storm as a backdrop just like last time. One of the most perfect and REAL performances I have ever seen.
