I bought an Alpha 4 months ago. It's the only DD setup I've tried but I was shocked at how much I had to dial down the power to find a comfortable setting. I'm running it at WELL under 50% and there's plenty of power, detail, etc. plus I've got miles of headroom. The software maybe isn't the best but it works just fine and is quite sensitive to adjustments. I could go on and on but after living with it I've had no problems and no regrets.
How are the road textures force feedback? Will from boosted media reviewed it in 2021 and said it was really bad on iracing, assetto corsa and dirt rally 2. He said he couldn't even feel accordingly when he put a wheel on the grass.
@@Jose-pq4bcit seems that Will and Simagic had some beef until very recently. Also 2 years is a lot of time for software development. I haven’t tried the base yet, but there is lots of positive opinions on Reddit, seems unlikely they are all fake.
@@Jose-pq4bcdon't worry about hom with sim magic. I own the dd+ the dimagic is slightly better with speed and details. But it has this purity thats just better. I also believe he has updated to the recent software which boosted the details an insane amount
10:14 There You said the magic words This is how a proper review should be. Slew rate/acceleration is the most important thing and a Simucube2Pro user saying he did not find it slow or lazy is gold. Thank you for that .I've been crazy thinking do i miss something if i buy that instead of the Ultimate. I have also seen a real life GT racer slowing the slew rate of simucube cause its TOO fast and not realistic.
Do you have a cockpit or wheel stand that you use with the Alpha? If so can you let me know what one? I am looking to get the Alpha but trying to know what works with Sim Magic
Thanks. Can you give some feedback on deciding between getting this Alpha or just the Mini? How much detail is compromised with just going with the Mini? TY
Nice review. Enjoyed watch it along with all your others! I've been struggling to decide between the Alpha and the Alpha U. Would you say, if using the Alpha U at only 15Nm peak torque to match the Alpha, the two bases are indistinguishable in every way? Fine detail in the ffb, responsiveness, reactivity, etc....identical?
@@simracingenthusiastreviews firstly, thank you for your reply. I have a few follow up questions if you don't mind please.... Would you suggest the Alpha U over the Alpha for competitive esports level sim racing? I guess what I'm asking is, when using the Alpha in a race scenario where you are trying to optimize for your racing performance, do you get the feeling the Alpha U would give a bigger advantage than the regular Alpha? How do you rate the GT4 over the FX Pro? Many thanks!
@@DrR1pper The slew rate argument is not valid and every person lowers the slew rate to make the ffb smoother. Slew rate talk is for people who are millennials think more is better 😂

What power power supply did u get and use with the Alpha ?? I got the 236w supply and maybe it doesn’t have enough power to feel the big hit. So I wanted to know the power of the PSU you had ?

I'm using the Alpha Mini wheelbase with FX Pro wheel Thinking about upgrading to Alpha or Ultimate I'm a bit confused. 10 Nm vs 15 vs 23 Nm I'm okay with 10 Nm. What is actually the difference between the Mini and the Ultimate, except for the Nm?? For example, if Ultimate is set at 10 Nm and Mini as well, 10 Nm, do they feel the same? Has the Ultimate more " power " vibrations, etc, vs the Mini, when both are set at 10 Nm? What about the noise / heat ?! Does the big brother, Ultimate, generate more noise/ heat, vs Alpha Mini? Any advices are welcome, thank you in advance
The reason ita so fast is they use 5 pole motorrs. Almost nobody uses 5 pole motors. Its imo the best motor on the market and simagic customized it for sim racing. Nothing imo beats there bases. Also simagic has been out for well over 5 years man def not new or young.
what about operational noise? No one seems to pay Attention on coil whine, squeaking etc? Did you noticed any? My Mini is really bad and really loud with random humming, static, and whining...
If we assume Simagic, Asetek and Simcube bases have similar details, and just put their peak forces on a linear scale, the Alpha isn't really that much better than other options. For example, Asetek La Prima with 12nm is €750 while the 18nm Forte is €1050. A 15nm base should be right inbetween, so at €900, but the Alpha is €930. You can also deduct 5% from the Asetek and Simucube bases with a Boosted Media discount code that's available through the entire year, so Asetek has the better price/performance wheelbases. The Fanatec 12nm is also a good option at €700, the 15nm is overpriced at €1000.
That depends, in Greece is 825eu at an authorized reseller. For the other bases you have to buy them from the internet, pay for shipping and this is way more stressful. Especially if something goes wrong.
Bohh eyyyy, what crap. I have the base now, BUT!!! At Raceroom the steering angle is not adjusted. . . . This means that every time you first check the setup at Raceroom and check the steering angle. Then into the Simagic driver and enter the value there.... That's totally annoying.
Wait, What? The VRS DFP has more torque for a greater dynamic range and is also nearly £100 cheaper than the Alpha. Best bang for buck! Nothing beats it.

Gotcha. Its a very good base and I suppose You wont ever need to change it. And the price of rims is also tempting.
