No, not analog. It's a digital emulation - a very good one that nails the sound of the synths, but is sadly limited to four voices of polyphony, where the originals had six. The only analog Boutique is the SE-02, which requires a power supply and can only manage a single voice (and gets pretty warm).
@@gctechs You can use performance mode to layer or split two at the same time. You only get four voices for each one though. Would have been nice if it could dynamically allocate the voices - for example if you have mono and poly plugouts in a split, the mono should only use once voice and leave seven voices for the other synth, but unfortunately it doesn't work that way. The new Jupiter-X/Xm has similar emulations (not quite as accurate as ACB but still good) and supports up to four analog emulations with a total of 32 voices.

I'm not sure they're interested in doing a 1:1 clone of the Juno-60/106. I think they've already made their move in this area with the DeepMind, which can achieve similar enough sounds (and more). If you specifically want the sound of the Juno-106, Roland's emulations are more accurate, but if you just want to be in the same ballpark with more overall versatility, the DeepMind seems nice enough.
@@st0rmchild They have done a ton of mono synths, some with a lot of overlap so I can see them doing a Juno clone as it would only need a tweak or two on the chorus and refinement on the voices, pretty easy one for them and would sell thousands, complete no brainer and massive earner.
@@maccagrabme It's true they could do that, and probably would make a lot of money, but I think they have their eyes higher in the poly synth world ie. OBX-a, Jupiter 8, CS-80 etc.
@@reginaldbowls7180 The current price of a Juno is crazy, they will definitely want a slice of that market. Even the Juno Boutiques are flying off the shelves and prices skyrocketing once out of production.
Thanks for doing something else than just talking or producing ufo, helicopter or Commodore 64 (yes, I am old) sounds. I was looking for warm sounds to ad to my dig. piano. For additional sounds, only 4 voices is not really a problem for me. After your review I finally (!!!!!!!) could stop searching.

Playing only - talks for an hour.
The video is not even 20 mins.
@@HotStrange Right over your head, it went.
I own a lot of synths including many Rolands, JD990 with xpansion, Juno Stage, JDXI, Boutique SH101, as some notable mentions, this JU60A looks nice BUT it doesn't sound nice in my opinion, too digital and thin and the 4poly is a big turn off. Looks sexy as, but I'm after sound and inspiration. This module is priced way too high for what it is (a collectors item) not a musician tool. Patches don't inspire me, nor fill anything I already don't have in say the JD990 and Juno Stage,... Hmm... thanks for the demo, but Roland.... A big no from me.
It's digital so they could provide more polyphony. lol jk.
That seems to be the prevailing assumption from people who have no idea how software works.
That's also the prevailing opinion from those of us who program software.
@@davidpetersonharvey I'm also a software engineer. Speak for yourself. You aren't a very experienced developer if you think digital means free polyphony. These Boutiques are component-level emulations of the original hardware, which requires significant DSP computation.
@@st0rmchild that's exactly right. And in this day and age, where the processing power and memory to do so is extremely cheap and trivial (especially in production at this scale) it's significantly limited hardware for the price that can't accommodate the extra code and processing power to add two more voices.
And save the ad hominem attacks for someone without a brain.
@@st0rmchild But surely its only $50 extra to get the extra 2 note poly?
guys all the stupid theatricals are very distracting. Focus on the gear and the music. There is too much content out there to spend time watching the silly fluff
"playing only".. *talks incessantly*
playing only my ass
Just buy Tal Uno Lx Juno emulation for £50 and connect a midi keyboard to your computer. 4 voice polyphony. Nope.
