  • Building a bikewash station at home has been on the cards for some time now and in this episode I finally get around to starting the dream wash station making cleaning and maintaining your mountain bike even more basic and satisfying!
    This station includes everything you need from bushes, muc off cleaning products, drainage and a secure system to secure your bike ensuring your mtb maintenance schedule is kept on top of!
    MUC OFF has kitted the station out with all of the top products ranging from the nanotech cleaner to the bike friendly pressure washer!
    I hope that you enjoy part one and be sure to tune in for part two shortly!

    Drainage on floor in to a soak away . A light bar on back wall . When removing wheels some thing to hang them up on and out way .

    Build a little sort of open shed next to it that is small where you can store products and make them look super neat👍👍

    I'd put something on the wood where you hang your bike like some old inner tube or something so you dont scratch the dropper seatpost

  • @charlesslwilson

    Hopefully the floor is on a very slight slant so the water can run off....
    Agree with other comments that you might want to put the products, cloths etc on the other side of the panel or they will get covered with mud as soon as you start cleaning. A roof would be useful for the British weather - perhaps a retractable one???
    Great idea though and looks cool - will be even smarter with the muc-off logo’s/designs
    🤟👍

    Would have hooks on outside to avoid over cluttering. Light on rear centre post. Good drainage. Where's your hose connector? Better treat the wood to make it water proof. A step too. Can't wait to see finish set-up 👍

    I'd definitely recommend a backing as the neighbours won't be happy with the jet wash hitting the fence and mud going up it! Looks awesome

    Be careful not to mount all your cloths and bottles on the panel near the bike . When you are jet washing the mud with splash everywhere. Maybe mount on the reverse side next to the windows ?

    @Tom Cardy the chippy...... 🤣 looking good mate! Some good ideas there! I know what you mean about cleaning on the grass..... so I put astro down, this was probably a cheaper option being a builder 🤦‍♂️ 🤣

    You don't want lights shining in your face or making massive shadows so more than one light strategically placed. Also drainage, lots of mud and grease and grime etc will end up dropping and splashing about when cleaning so good idea to have all storage and shelving etc away from where all the dirt will be. A frame above would be good to hang items from and with shelf on so easy to reach up for bits and all away from the dirt.

    Said it before I'll say it again, that carbon frame design & color way is by far Haibikes best one to date! That bike wash station is goin to be sick! Will look proper with a good dark wood stain/sealant

      @TomCardy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TomCardy yeah Haibike has really come along & developed a quality product. Either a dark wood stain or covering it with the fake rock would look sick to finish it off

    You need to add some grip tape to your decking as water + nano can make it slippy. I ended up with non slip matting (another option) on my decking. 👍 on the vids.

    I'd mount it all the kit on the outer walls to avoid it all getting sprayed with mud when pressure washing. Probably worth varnishing or painting all the wood too so it's protected from the water. And maybe a hood or a piece of wood above the back wall, angled forwards over the bike, so you don't get in bother for spraying the neighbours windows, or the neighbours themselves

  • @IchbinTim
    @IchbinTim 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You definitely need to connect some sort or drainage to your bike was station and to your water run off from the gutters. To prevent standing water under the bike was station. Plus a high board to prevent over spray to your neighbours garden :)

    Great vid to start a very snowy afternoon here, love the design mate, deffo need a cover and treatment for the wood, could you place a small bin for all the rubbish and possibly a roll device for blue roll to wipe down? Can’t wait for the next vid. 🤘🏻

    I would put a hole in the screen wall to put the washer hose through, that way you won't cover it in crap as soon as you turn it on. Maybe make a shelf (or more) between the house and the wall to store stuff, anything on top of the wall is going to get covered in diret/water and having aerosol exposed to direct sunlight isn't a good idea. Looks great though.

  • @JamesDownes
    @JamesDownes 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Note that storing products, oils ETC outside, condinsation will get into the bottle I would think so be selective. Also freezing water etc will bust the motor in the pressure washer if left outside

    Instead of boarding up both sides I think you should take off the board on the bike wash side and make shelving. Brace up the post at the bottom so it's stronger when you hang the bike up. A couple of thoughts for ya, look forward to part 2

    Maybe I´d go for this bit of luxury and build in some fancy philips hue light strips (those for outdoors) to have it smart and accessible with my phone.
    And probably I´d make my mind up about any drainage system so the greywater gets filtered and does not trickle away right next to the house.
