'ഉണരുണരൂ ഉണ്ണിപ്പൂവേ' - മലയാളത്തനിമ അതിന്റെ പാരമ്യത്തിൽ തുളുമ്പിനിൽക്കുന്ന അതിസുന്ദരഗാനം! 1963 ൽ ഇ. എം കോവൂർ തിരക്കഥയെഴുതി പി. ഭാസ്‌ക്കരൻ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത 'അമ്മയെ കാണാൻ' എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിനു വേണ്ടി പി. ഭാസ്‌ക്കരൻ - കെ. രാഘവൻ കൂട്ടുകെട്ടൊരുക്കിയതാണ് ഈ നിത്യഹരിതഗാനം. പ്രകൃതിയ്ക്കായുള്ള ഒരു ഉണർത്തുപാട്ട് എന്നു പറയാവുന്ന ഈ ഗാനത്തിന്റെ വരികളിൽ ഗ്രാമീണഭംഗി തുടിച്ചു നിൽക്കുന്നു. ഉച്ചസ്ഥായിയിലുള്ള മനോഹര ഈണത്തിലാകട്ടെ ലാളിത്യവും ചടുലതയും ഒരുപോലെ സന്നിവേശിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. അതുല്യവും മാസ്മരികവുമായ ശബ്ദമാധുര്യത്തോടെ എസ്. ജാനകി ആ ഗാനം ആലപിച്ചപ്പോൾ മലയാളിമനസ്സുകളിൽ അമൃതവർഷമായി. അതിന്റെ ഒരു കവർവേർഷൻ.

ലീലാമ്മ മാഡം assumption കോളേജിൽ പഠിക്കുമ്പോൾ സബ് കോളേജിലെ ഞങ്ങൾ ഈ അനുഗ്റുഹീത സ്വര മാധുര്യം എത്രയോ തവണ കേട്ടിരുന്നു. ഇപ്പോഴും അതേ സ്വര ലയം.
