I remember when I got this game and played in the living room, my dad asked me why I was playing a game in a different language. I told him it had a good story and that he should try it. He laughed at me and said maybe. After I left the following day and came back a week later, I find a different save file that's been completed and kiwami 1 and 2 on the playstation. I can't comprehend how this song was a replacement. I would argue that it fit better. I couldn't bring myself to skip the intro on most occasions. It just seemed appropriate that a game set in 80's Japan would get an intro track with the vibe of an anime intro made around the same period. When I heard the song continue to play past its shortened version during the end credits I was overcome with that feeling of having come full circle. I'm not sure that I would have felt that with the original. I hate that I won't be able to forget this game and experience it as new again.

Discovered it in late 2020 I think, Initially cause of the dame da ne meme, I wanted to also try it cause it had a rhythm minigame in it, so I played it, honestly the best game series I played. Played every single one of them now, including ishin :)
You know you've stumbled upon a goldmine when you're introduced at first to crazy intro video with a really sick intro soundtrack! An incredible plot with great character developments and superb voice acting to add to its depth, over-the-top fight scenes, engaging mini-games and really interesting sub-stories.
I don't know why this game hasn't been popular over the years. The story, twists, plot, overall game was just a masterpiece. This game should be recognized not only for the memes but for the game itself!
To me, the English version fits the tragedies and hardships of being a Yakuza more, but the Japanese version better fits the indulgent party vibe of 80's Japan. Both, however, perfectly capture the "I wanna kick some ass" vibe.
The opening that started it all. It's not been that long, but I've played all of the Yakuza games from 0 to Lost Judgement in these last few months, and it feels almost nostalgic to come back to this song again. Truly a masterpiece game.
I got into this series not long after you posted this comment. If I had the resources to build a time machine and go back to kick my younger self in the groin for not playing this game earlier I would do it. It changed my life for the better
I got this game for free from PSN a while back, but didn’t actually open it till about a month ago… The intro was enough for me to go buy the whole series with steelbooks and I have yet to be disappointed
It was one of the first game I've bought on my ps4, since i always wanted to try this "GTA in Japan". Well, it didn't click at first but on my 2nd shot I've became a huge fan. Yakuza 0 is one of my favourite game in general and probably the best of all Yakuza games

The story was amazing and it was slow at first, but the plot was just immense and just awesome, I even cried at some points, which is a very rare thing for me. When I finished the main story and the credits complete, this opening plays again and even though I played it in one sitting, it just felt so nostalgic for some reason, and I have no idea why. This game is the first of the Yakuza series, and also the first game to make me really cry (Chapter 6 ending). A true masterpiece that I will never forget and forever cherish in my heart.
it takes 10 minutes to begin playing 1 hour to understand the combat 10 hours to complete the story 100 hours to decide when you're gonna stop 1000 hours to realize that this franchise has become part of you
I wasn't ready to enjoy Yakuza as much as I did. I mean come on, a fighting game? I suck at those! But it was on gamepass, and a friend recommended it so I installed it. Heard this song play and I knew, somewhere inside, I was in for something great.
Yakuza 0 is the first game I have been invested into the story for a very long time. Played it on release on PC and starting to replay it again. The feels from this song is insane.
The lead guitar on this does something for my soul in these quarantine times. Almost like Chuck Schuldiner noodling around figuring out the last Death album
I'm so happy Yakuza 0 was my first and that I didn't skip the intro. It was just so good, even the montage of cutscenes that accompany it, just perfection. Majima's fight scenes and Kiryu and Nishiki's camera pan showing their tattoos sends me.😭 This song is rad.
Yakuza 0 is probably the best game in terms of story and music. The fight mechanics is awesome especially with the Mad Dog. The music alone just drew me in.
this opening is hands down one of my favorite songs from 0. it really captures how intense and exciting 0 was at different parts of the story, especially with all different shots from kiryu and majima's cutscenes. when i first played 0, i had a tendency to skip the intro; as i got deeper into the story, i began sitting through it and going "oh hey, i remember that moment!" and it always hyped me up before i jumped back into the game. i love bubble as well, but this opening takes the cake for me.
Beat this game yesterday, what a story, especially Majima's, and if I heard this song without knowing this game was a prequel, I would've thought it's the final game of the entire franchise chronologically.
Love this game, would definetly pay for it when i can since i got it from Gamepass, now me and my father went into the whole adventure of this series, best moments between us for sure since he watched the goofyness and serious tones of all, starting from here
originally he was the mad man going off of the english translation of the first game then mad dog in the second and onward. I am unsure if it was the same with the Japanese version though.
Yeah but to be fair, it's not as bad as Kiwami 1 where you just know that Niskhi and Kiryu fight. When I first looked at the intro first time (I never played any Yakuza game) It was cool but also the context is cut right off properly.
Bought this game because I found it in a cash converter and didn’t know what to play anymore as no game interested me. Just stumbled on it like that. This is probably the best 20 bucks I’ve ever spent.

I love it too! :D
How could you not love this? It's great!
It's not the English intro, it's everyone's intro except Japan
Yakuza 0 was my first official yakuza game, my first one i played was 4 back in 2013 on ps3 a demo but my cousin deleted after 15 mins saying the cutscenes was too long (it was his ps3 sadly) then fast forward 2019 i saw 0 and was like oh yeah yakuza i forgot it existed then bought it played it and stopped bc i left my ps4 then 2021 i decided to play and beat it once and for all once i did i instantly fell in love i bought kiwami the day i beat it and rest was history
I’ll never forget the time I played this with my dad and we both experienced the Cabaret Club minigame together and the absolute bizarre nature of this game.
This game was special. Can't believe it's been 7 years
PS4で初めてプレイしてPC版でこのオープニング曲聴いたときは感動したわ。
日本版のほうは龍が如くって感じで、海外版はYAKUZAって感じがして好き。
Cuz of this music I can barely ever skip this intro
I NEVER skip this intro. You just cant!

This is where boys become *CHADS*
I believe it.
Where the boys solve their problems with guns in GTA, the Chads and boys becoming Chads solves their problems with their bare hands in Yakuza series.
This needs to be the Yakuza series theme. Like individual games can have their own themes, but this should be the theme for the whole series.
Nah bro, nothing can replace “Receive You.” Now THAT’S the series theme! This one is fucking dope too tho.
@@BlueDragonBot IMHO, either/or could work. I'm all in for this being the Yakuza series theme, but if "Receive You" became the theme, I'd be perfectly fine with it since it also has that sense of iconicness to it.
I went to Japan for my very first time and before put a step on Kabukicho, ive put my earphones and started to listen this intro. I would do it again!
PS: I was on Dotonbori too
I'm jealous. Visited Kabukicho back in 2016 before I even knew the Yakuza games existed
Do those places actually exist tho?
@@sammayo473 They do. Kamurocho and Sotenbori are inspired off of Kabukicho and Dotonbori, which is their real counterparts
@@sammayo473 Yes, even when SEGA took inspiration on both districts there is a lot of stuff that exists in both worlds, IE in Sotenbori there's the Kuidaore Taro doll and the Glico Man which are the icons of Dotonbori, and the Parking Lot in Kamurocho really exists in Kabukicho

I can’t wait for all these new yakuza 0 fan’s to discover just how brilliant this series is.
Just started a week ago with this being my intro to the series. I'm absolutely loving it
Discovered it in late 2020 I think, Initially cause of the dame da ne meme, I wanted to also try it cause it had a rhythm minigame in it, so I played it, honestly the best game series I played.
Just finished this game. So in a nutshell:
Kiryu: how many times I have to fight you?
Kuze: yes
Kiwami Majima would like to know your location
hope you finished kiwami!
yoneda:
Japanese Op: Kiryu
English Op: Majima
I don't know why this game hasn't been popular over the years. The story, twists, plot, overall game was just a masterpiece. This game should be recognized not only for the memes but for the game itself!

Good thing this is in english. I almost thought they were playing those instruments in japanese or something!

What about Ishin

The epitome of the franchise, that has the best themes in both English and Japanese.
This is one of the game intros that you couldn't skip because it was so frickin' good
This kicks the ass of the japanese version, no contest.
*fingers crossed that this is the intro song for the TV show*
Wait what
Either this, Receive You, or Funk Goes On.
Of those three, it would probably be Receive You.
1:09 was when I knew I was gonna love this game, it's so hype. And I wasn't wrong, an absolute legend of a game.
Yes the super cool
Sounds are here
This game i spired me to get physically fit,it’s been two years so far and I’m this close to having kiryus build
Kickass!
This game is amazing and I'm glad it was my first for this series.
Come back to this song, I summon thee
to me the English one fits the game more but i love both the Japanese and English opening themes
To me, the English version fits the tragedies and hardships of being a Yakuza more, but the Japanese version better fits the indulgent party vibe of 80's Japan. Both, however, perfectly capture the "I wanna kick some ass" vibe.
SUPERSONICGIRLIFY great way to put it
The opening that started it all.
Just finished the game,my god it was awesome!
And hearing this theme in credits is just a perfect ending.
Also thank you for uploading this track!
Here it is, the song that introduced me to one of my favorite game series ever
This song is more Dynasty Warriors than the actual Dynasty Warriors. I love it. Sorry Bubble, this one was perfect for that cutscene.
It felt a bit like Etrian Odyssey later on, but that's probably a coincidence.
theR1ch I kinda wish they go back to this sort of epicness in the newer Dynasty Warriors games.
I feel like Kazuma Kiryu could pursue Lu Bu.
YOU FLAMING IDIOT
TAKE THIS
(sry, had to)
Kazuma Kiryu could Tiger Drop Lu Bu for sure.
I got this game for free from PSN a while back, but didn’t actually open it till about a month ago…
The intro was enough for me to go buy the whole series with steelbooks and I have yet to be disappointed
Did you finish it?
It was one of the first game I've bought on my ps4, since i always wanted to try this "GTA in Japan".
Well, it didn't click at first but on my 2nd shot I've became a huge fan.
Yakuza 0 is one of my favourite game in general and probably the best of all Yakuza games
This game has literally made me embrace my masculinity and work out. Gentlemen, I'm gettin' that Kiryu body.

This is some 80s type stuff
I played through the whole game in one sitting. Yes, it was just that good.
This opening really got me hooked and I couldn't stop playing.

I wasn't ready to enjoy Yakuza as much as I did. I mean come on, a fighting game? I suck at those! But it was on gamepass, and a friend recommended it so I installed it. Heard this song play and I knew, somewhere inside, I was in for something great.
The bad thing about the song is that is:
*The song ends*
:(
This track is RAD!
Yakuza 0 is the first game I have been invested into the story for a very long time. Played it on release on PC and starting to replay it again. The feels from this song is insane.
1:24 - I feel this bit … ❤
There are few games where you know just by the intro or menu music your purchase is justified, Yakuza 0 is one of those few games.
Hearing this theme kick in half way through the endgame credits was cathartic
I fell in love with Yakuza after 0.

Same!!!
Samee beet series with best protagonist and antagonist. Protagonists like KIRYU-CHAN,majima goro, akiyama, tanimura, ichi and shinanda
And antagonist kuze,dojima,nishki,mine,ryuji,arai,iwami

What an entrance to such a badass game

This song is so good, I get it stuck in my head all the time. I wish I could go back and play Yakuza 0 for the first time again.
Perfect as a workout music, gave me instant additional testosterone
I'm so happy Yakuza 0 was my first and that I didn't skip the intro. It was just so good, even the montage of cutscenes that accompany it, just perfection. Majima's fight scenes and Kiryu and Nishiki's camera pan showing their tattoos sends me.😭 This song is rad.
Yakuza 0 is probably the best game in terms of story and music. The fight mechanics is awesome especially with the Mad Dog. The music alone just drew me in.
Having finished 0 a week or two ago and started on Kiwami, this intro lives rent free in my head. I love it!
I remember hearing this for the first time, best fucking intro in my life
The song that plays when i do my workouts. Preps me for when i need to fight my way out of my job
Usually English Intros aren't that good, but this is an exception.
this opening is hands down one of my favorite songs from 0. it really captures how intense and exciting 0 was at different parts of the story, especially with all different shots from kiryu and majima's cutscenes. when i first played 0, i had a tendency to skip the intro; as i got deeper into the story, i began sitting through it and going "oh hey, i remember that moment!" and it always hyped me up before i jumped back into the game. i love bubble as well, but this opening takes the cake for me.
I just finished yakuza 0, man I was so happy hearing this song play in the credits
Beat this game yesterday, what a story, especially Majima's, and if I heard this song without knowing this game was a prequel, I would've thought it's the final game of the entire franchise chronologically.
Love this game, would definetly pay for it when i can since i got it from Gamepass, now me and my father went into the whole adventure of this series, best moments between us for sure since he watched the goofyness and serious tones of all, starting from here
Goro Majima is a Beast!
no he's a mad dog
dog is also sometime referred as a beast too though...
so technically correct?
originally he was the mad man going off of the english translation of the first game then mad dog in the second and onward. I am unsure if it was the same with the Japanese version though.
Lord of the night then mad dog of shimano
The song of spoiling half the game in the intro
Yeah but to be fair, it's not as bad as Kiwami 1 where you just know that Niskhi and Kiryu fight. When I first looked at the intro first time (I never played any Yakuza game) It was cool but also the context is cut right off properly.
Worth it tho.
yeah, but if you are playing it for the 1st time you just don't fkn know what tf is happening jahjahja
Its only spoilers in hindsight lol
Bought this game because I found it in a cash converter and didn’t know what to play anymore as no game interested me. Just stumbled on it like that. This is probably the best 20 bucks I’ve ever spent.
*Heaven or hell?*
