Kuze was perfect as some sort of Anti-Hero. The first 3 times you fight him, Kuze only thinks of you as a piece of dogshit punk that he stepped on, something he has to scrub off the face of the earth... When Kiryu hits Kuze in the fourth fight as hard as he could. It wasn't about a Punk-ish Kiryu, that fight showed how Kiryu was defending a fatally injured friend. At this point, it wasn't about just some plot of land, it was about Kiryu defending what he thought was the most important. Kuze even says, "I'll be damned. The punk kid's finally turned... turned into a true yakuza". The final fight between Kiryu and Kuze, it wasn't about attempting to kill him, it was only to test if Kiryu was willing to step into the deepest depths of Yakuza hell to achieve his goal. Whoever written Kuze's whole arc here needs to get a fucking raise.
I mean the third fight kuze was talking about how you have to take hits and keep going. In the final fight kuze hits kiryu straight in the face but he still stood and I think that's probably when he understood he's got the strength.
Does it need it? The two of you have come to an understanding of what is to happen. Nothing heat of the moment, nothing really resembling a time limit as of then. Just the two of you knowing that this fight is going to happen, that it HAS to happen.

First fight: I hate this guy. Second fight: I REALLY hate this guy. Third fight: I'm really getting sick and tired of fighting you. Fourth fight: Maybe you're not wholely evil, but I still hate your guts. Fifth fight: I hate you, but I understand you. We might've been friends if our circumstances had been different. It sucks that this is going to be our last fight.

Kuze's last fight is like "You know what kid? Maybe you really are serious about all of it. You got what it takes, and I can't stop you for that. But hey, I'm proud of you."
The fight where Oath plays (not Pledge) doesn't have a dynamic intro for some reason, so there was no clear answer to what should've been their pick. (the bike scene already belongs to Pledge, too strong to use here)
I think the moment in the final battle at the start of the QTE sequence where Kuze rushes Kiryu, deflects the first blow, and counters with his own as both they look uncertain would be an ideal image.
@@LevantineR1 or just before it where Kuze shrugged off a punch from Kiryu saying "Don't underestimate me" or maybe the last shot of him before the fight starts with him squaring off with Kiryu.

I did the same and didn't regret it one bit. I bought Yakuza 0 off of a whim in 2017 and within a year Yakuza became my favorite ongoing franchise, and it still hasn't been surpassed by anything else yet.

@@TheSimmr001 Just before Kiryu stampedes in, Kuze smashes Yoneda's head down after dealing the fatal blow to Tachibana. You can even see blood pouring out of his head, so I'm inclined to believe Kuze killed Yoneda since he doesn't get back up to fight you afterwards.

That's not what an anti-hero is, he's just a cool antagonist who isn't really a villain, and stops being a primary antongist by the end of the game
