My absolute favourite detail of this is the fact that the way their bodies are positioned, the dragons on their backs are looking DIRECTLY AT EACH OTHER
Compared to most final boss themes in Yakuza. There is no melancholy, but instead triumph. As we are witnessing the birth of Kazuma Kiryu, the Dragon of Dojima. Kiryu faces the Seiryū, the guardian dragon. While Kiryu is the uninked ascending dragon. By defeating this veteran, Kiryu earns his ink, and that ink pens the title Shibusawa craved. It's only at the end where it slows to a music box, where melancholy slightly crosses the mind of this song. As it plays the last tune of Shibusawa's dream and signals the birth of Kiryu's legend.
Tattoos in the Yakuza are certainly unique. The more color and the more intricacy, typically the longer you’ve been in the gang, and the more social standing you have.
In Yakuza 2, they make a great fuss on how yakuza's tattoo artist don't give dragons lightly to people (In "Like a Dragon" universe, at least) They have to be struck by their aura, be convinced on how they'll rose to power (and they meet them only when they are barely starting, so it's entirely a feeling), so they usually give only one dragon per generation. And they usually have one design. Looking at this image, how their dragons seem to look and roar at each other, I can't but think Utabori made the dragon on Kiryu's back look in the opposite direction from the one Shibusawa has (a second design) exactly because he thought that 2 possible kings of the sky would have inevitably fought each other at some point, making their dragons roar at each other to determine which one is the true dragon of the sky
This comment also shows how tragic Nishiki life was, no one ever believed he would reach the top, he truly was cursed to stay as a Carp since the start But it's also really interesting for Ichiban, considering he probably got his tattoo from Utabori too, he probably saw something in him that made him realize he one day could be just as great as Kiryu
Why does no one ever talk about the fact that Shibusawa had his own Rush, beast, and legend style? I think that's what cemented the fact that there really was 2 dragons fighting each other
@@angelusvastator1297 From Dojima's perspective it's Kazama backstabbing him, Kyriu is just doing Kazama's bidding without even being aware of what's going on behind the scenes for most of Y0. The whole reason the Tojo Clan ends up being such a basket case is Kyriu. Shibusawa was just loyal to his boss. I really hope that one day we get a prequel set in the 1960ies or 1970ies that explores the backstory of Kazama and guys like Kuze, Shibusawa and Shimano

What's cool is the 3 Tojo Lieutenants could've been destined for true greatness in the yakuza world however something led them to their own failure. Daisaku Kuze: a man who was loyal to a T, but his pride overshadowed his judgement making him dishonor himself wanting to do anything to regain his pride. Kiryu made him realize pride isn't all that matters in the world and that he wanted the Yakuza to be more than mere thugs. Kuze sees the potential in Kiryu and feels threatened by him which is why he is so adamant on beating him. Hiroki Awano: A powerhouse of the yakuza who got tired of all the political bs and sought the easy way out of everything not caring about his position until meeting Majima who relit his ambition and reminded him how to be an honorable man. Majima even acknowledges Awano could have become great with his strength alone. Awano realized however if he made it to the top he would always be fighting someone trying to surpass him. Keiji Shibusawa: A man who became so obsessed with surpassing the past with making his own legend he was willing to incite a war to write his legend in the blood of others resulting in him losing his compassion and humanity. All he cared about was his legacy and achieving results no matter the cost which made him the most dangerous of all 3. Kiryu is literally Shibusawas polar opposite in every way. He is compassionate, despises fighting, hate seeing people die and cares about other people more than himself literally willing to risk his life to protect someone regardless of if he is injured or nearly dies in the process. Kiryu even empathizes with his enemies sometimes however needs to stop them before they hurt others. Kiryu earned the title Shibusawa wanted by having humanity. Yep! For Whose Sake (Nishiki's theme) comes close to a second. This one altogether fits like a true final boss theme; like the very last boss of the whole series. Wonder why they didn't use it for battle with Tsuneo Iwami as well - to conclude Kiryu saga altogether.

That tune at 6:31 is so godly I can't stop listening to it. At the same time it's triumphant, but also somber. Kind of like Kiryu being kind of anxious taking on the role of Dragon of Dojima. I don't blame him considering we know what happens to him later lol
I know this has definitely been mentioned before, but, in my opinion at least, this fight was so significant because of what it represented: Shibusawa, at least in my eyes, represented the darker path; if Kiryu had continued to show the undying, almost zealotry that most members of the Dojima Family (and by extension, the Tojo Clan) showed, this is what Kiryu could have become: A ruthless, murdering sychophant who plays dirty, targeting civilians and literally anyone else who stood in his way, to reach what he considered the very apex of his profession. Personally, Like a Dragon is my favorite Yakuza, but there's no doubt in my mind that 0 is one of, if not _the_ best written story, and filled with some of the most memorable characters and quotes you can find in any video game ever.
Whoever decided to include the small part at 1:03, right before the drop, where it shows Kiryu’s Dragon and then immediately shows Shibusawa’s after, and then shows both of theirs face to face on the drop, is a mad genius. It’s very subtle but it syncs with the music perfectly and creates an amazing sense of drama, which helped boost the “Oh Shit” factor when the Title card shows. These small things in Yakuza’s cinematography are one of the key factors that put the series so high on the list for me
Seriously. Can we have a version of this song with the dialogue between Shiwabusa and Kiryu in the build-up? It would make the song even more hype as hell.
I just completed the game yesterday the boss fight felt like i was fighting someone who was not weak or Strong than me but someone who is equal..thats why the theme song is named Two dragons i guess
There was a guy that said the best way to do this fight is rush, beast, dragon to match and surpass Shibusawa in every segment but personally I think the opposite is best. Beast in the first part represents Kiryu's rage going into this fight, his utter resentment for Shibusawa manifesting as overwhelming power that Shibusawa is not fast enough to dodge or strong enough to endure. In phase 2 it flips. Shibusawa grabs a table to hit Kiryu and he dodges. Normally Kiryu would go beast style to take advantage of all the objects but by now he's realized that Shibusawa is no normal opponent and he sees a weakness. In using rush style he avoids Shibusawa's powerful attacks and whittles down his health with superior agility and strategy. In the final phase all gloves are off, both go dragon style as a callback to the start of the fight where they butt shoulder and their dragon tattoos stare into each other's eyes. Kiryu uses his superior strength, speed, durability, and intelligence to earn his title as the Dragon of Dojima.
Personally, I do just brawler style all the way through. There is something so satisfying about countering and Shibusawa counters back, like it is battle between two Titans
I don't know why but whenever they talk/whisper in the beginning of this video I feel like as if the voice of Kiryu is whispering to me to lend me his strength for an epic battle
*Kiryu pushes Shibusawa away* "SHIBUSAWAAAAA!!!!" *Kiryu punches Shibusawa right in the nose, making him go airborne* *Shibusawa lands on his back* "Dragon of Dojima..." *AND CUTSCENE*
shibusawa being kiryu's final opponent for this game was perfect. i really like the trope of "evil scumbag who can actually hold their own in a fight" because it makes you so angry and you get hyped to defeat them once and for all when you face off
I love how different this theme is from the others, most of final boss themes, even for the evilest of them have a sad undertone, resembling their awful lives before they got on the Yakuza, but Shibusawa's theme hypes you up to destroy him with all you got like you are fighting with something that resembles evil itself and has to be put down by any means necessary for the greater good.
At that moment, the only emotion making itself known in Kiryu's stoic frown... was anger. He grabs his suit by the shoulder and throws it to his right, leaving a muscular body and an unfinished tattoo. The atmosphere was almost suffocating. Both tensed up. "KIRYUUUUUU!!!!!!" "RAAAAGGGHHH!!" Both men, now shirtless, charged at each other and tackled shoulders. Imprinted on Shibusawa's back was a finished tattoo of a dragon, one who has risen through the ranks in a job where people tend to die young. On Kiryu's was another tattoo of a dragon, but unfinished, to a man who has and continues to fight through the struggles, the man known as the Dragon of Dojima, a man known as a Legend amongst the numbers of the Yakuza, a man who is feared. Both dragons stared each other down in unrivaled determination and fury. One will fall, and one will continue to rise. DOJIMA FAMILY LIEUTENANT, TOJO CLAN *KEIJI SHIBUSAWA*
Woooow... really TH-cam? Not blaming Archie over here, more so TH-cam but I literally got hit with an AD right at the build up point around 1:05. The resistance fight against ads is strong. On a more topic note I love this mix.
@@THENemesisXX99 good luck in your meme'ing career. I recommend trying to meme the moment when Shibusawa shouts "Dojima no ryu (Something something)!" and music changes (You don't need to include him shouting, y just have to add that music transition to a video of someone shouting then going bat-shit-insane).
One of the best final battle themes ever made, and what I love the most about this theme is the 3 phases it has, the beginning that emphasizes the beginning of the battle, the middle where the fight continues but it is a "calmer" version and the end that emphasizes the climax of this conflict and see who will become the true "DRAGON OF DOJIMA". No matter how many times I revisit this song, I will never get tired of it.
you're welcome man! The same also happened to me. I looked everywhere, but can't find the intro, so I had to dig deep into the game files itself, and I found it, and this version was born!
I think very often about how Kiryu’s first chronological final boss fight was basically against a real-life celebrity, who Shibusawa is modeled after. The dojima luitenants just feel more like celebrities than original characters to me so it’s funny to me how badass of boss fights they can be in a video game.
One thing i haven't noticed people point out is their outfits are also opposite of each other. Shibusawa is dark with light pinstripes and a white belt while Kiryu's is light with dark stripes and a black belt
I know everyone talks about this fighting against a evil, but with the 2 dragons tattoo crashing with the boat, this what I image: 2 east Asia dragon fighting in the sea, biting, clawing, etc. the fighting cause a storm. The fight is to see who controls the sea and the waters.
I think this is maybe the best final boss theme in the series still? There only are two boss themes that come close to this and that's For Whose Sake' and Fly. Nothing against a Scattered Moment, The Way of Life, For Faith, The Battle For The Dream, ISM and Overcoming The Dragon but man. Two Dragons, For Whose Sake, and Fly are just so powerful.
Assassination of Bodhisattva is good. It's really good. A fucking banger honestly but I still think I like Two Dragons more. Maybe I'll change my mind once I play Ishin for myself.
@@japaneseambassador3562 Yeah the music hits way harder if you play the story and finally get to experience the build up to it. Unwavering Belief goes hard but, when you have the context it hits WAY harder. Two Dragons is definitely amazing since it was the first final boss theme I heard. I forget this song has 3 phases too
@@juanmjx I'm near the end of Lost Judgement in my playthrough and I am SO ready for that final boss. Unfortunately, I've already been spoiled but I'm still fucking hyped regardless. RGG just does not miss somehow. After that, I'm definitely gonna play Ishin.
I have listened to this far too many times to count. Of all the final boss themes I have heard across any and all games I have played, this is easily a top 5, if not #1 itself.
This may seem like a VERY weird connection to make, but I've been thinking too much on it- In a hypothetical series or derivative work, two characters seemingly abandon their folk-lore origins. One blended in with the background, while the other has only gone in further on said origins. In their final battle, it's a pure test of philosophy. Sure, they're evenly matched. One may despise the other more than said other does at all. Bottom line, here's how it goes. One who ran away from their inhumanity vs. One who _embraces it._ can't help but think this may or may not fit thematically with kiryu vs. shibusawa, leaning more towards it doesn't. idk im just a nerd who has too many thoughts, might not help that i just got into the series like a few weeks ago-
I actually loved Kiryu in this game more than the rest of the Yakuza series. I prefer him being a strong yet still vulnerable man instead of an unbreakable god.
If there's a song or a game series to help with male testosterone it'd be this song and the whole game series, you're no man til you played this series.
This battle theme is so awesome! I recently finished Yakuza 0, and The only bad thing about this fight is that you can easily cheese it with beast For a final battle, they could've made shibusawa go all out
while For Who's Sake, A Scattered (Eternal) Moment and Fo(u)r Faith/Face have this sad tone to it, this one is just "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH OMG OMG OMG THIS IS SO EPIC WTF"
Someone tell me without spoilers. Does Yakuza ever hit this peak again? I hear Yakuza 0 is the best one but surely there's another boss fight on this level in Yakuza 5 or 6. I hear good things about Kiwami 2. People were freaking out over Judgment last year as well.
They never reach the peak on the same thing. While Yakuza 0 reaches the peak of bringing us Kiryu and Majima as new characters or the combat styles, other games from the saga reach the peak of a emotional, story-telling or even atmosphere point of view, sorry, my english is not perfect. But I can say you this, I played all the Yakuza saga and every one of their games are very good in their own way, so saying that Yakuza 0 is the peak of Yakuza is pretty abstract, but I recommend you to play more Yakuzas to bring your own opinion!
I always thing kiryu unlock the dragon of dojima after kuze fight but he dont use because wanna unleash all the power of dragon of dojima in this battle, that's why i think kiryu have the dragon style from the start in kiwami 1

In the final phase all gloves are off, both go dragon style as a callback to the start of the fight where they butt shoulder and their dragon tattoos stare into each other's eyes. Kiryu uses his superior strength, speed, durability, and intelligence to earn his title as the Dragon of Dojima.
What I did. xD
Personally, I do just brawler style all the way through. There is something so satisfying about countering and Shibusawa counters back, like it is battle between two Titans
3:54 The Beast Style drop is the hardest shit ever
I don't know why but whenever they talk/whisper in the beginning of this video I feel like as if the voice of Kiryu is whispering to me to lend me his strength for an epic battle
hahaha!
The whispering is the byproduct of ripping it from the game

shibusawa being kiryu's final opponent for this game was perfect. i really like the trope of "evil scumbag who can actually hold their own in a fight" because it makes you so angry and you get hyped to defeat them once and for all when you face off
That peaking guitar rift at 0:30 hits so good
That ambience in the riff gets you excited and anxious for what’s coming.
"KIRYUUUUUU!!!!!!"
"RAAAAGGGHHH!!"
Both men, now shirtless, charged at each other and tackled shoulders.

Woooow... really TH-cam? Not blaming Archie over here, more so TH-cam but I literally got hit with an AD right at the build up point around 1:05.
The resistance fight against ads is strong.
On a more topic note I love this mix.
Honestly can't wait for the day this song gets made into a meme. Its just as climactic and glorious as "It has to be this way"
It would definitely be that, if it was a song rather than music
@@starhalv2427 Tons of memes have been made of just music. Undertale, Mario, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Street Fighter, too many to list honestly.
@@THENemesisXX99 yeah, but only songs are memed in Yakuza community
@@starhalv2427 It need not remain that way forever.
Thank you for uploading the track with the build up. You have no idea how happy I am now.
I'm feeling the same happiness as you are when I found the build up when I was ripping all the audios :D
1:05 this is a good intro, I don’t care what anyone says.
It was the only dynamic intro that rivals Kuze’s second fight in my opinion. That second fight with Kuze is what made me diehard Yakuza fanboy
@@hybrid5860Ay, me too
6:20 Peak of the song
One of the best final battle themes ever made, and what I love the most about this theme is the 3 phases it has, the beginning that emphasizes the beginning of the battle, the middle where the fight continues but it is a "calmer" version and the end that emphasizes the climax of this conflict and see who will become the true "DRAGON OF DOJIMA".
No matter how many times I revisit this song, I will never get tired of it.
I’ve been waiting this intro for so long🙈, I even do that intro with piano to compensate my long wait🤣🤣🙈Thanks man!
you're welcome man!

6:32 "SHIBUSAWA!!!!!!!!" once I heard that locked in instantly
This franchise has great music
I made my two dogs listen to this. Now they are two freakin' dragons.
holy fucking shit what a masterpiece of a game, jesus fucking christ
This sounds incredible
thats rad
Shibusawa was the real manly version of iwami, iwami should've been someone like him fighting for a bigger title and goal overall
I agree with you. Shibusawa, in 0, is my top favorite fights after Kuze and Awano
One thing i haven't noticed people point out is their outfits are also opposite of each other. Shibusawa is dark with light pinstripes and a white belt while Kiryu's is light with dark stripes and a black belt
I know everyone talks about this fighting against a evil, but with the 2 dragons tattoo crashing with the boat, this what I image:
2 east Asia dragon fighting in the sea, biting, clawing, etc. the fighting cause a storm.
Listen to Assassination of Bodhisattva it's probably the best one, but this song is inspired by it so it's close

Of all the final boss themes I have heard across any and all games I have played, this is easily a top 5, if not #1 itself.
theres a HUGE ying yang vibe with these dudes.

KIRRYYYUUUU-CHAAAAAANNNNN!
FRIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZAAAAAAAAAAA
SHIBUSAWAAAAAAAA!!!
"I AM THE DRAGON OF DOJIMA!!"
LIQUIID
This may seem like a VERY weird connection to make, but I've been thinking too much on it-
In a hypothetical series or derivative work, two characters seemingly abandon their folk-lore origins. One blended in with the background, while the other has only gone in further on said origins.
In their final battle, it's a pure test of philosophy. Sure, they're evenly matched. One may despise the other more than said other does at all. Bottom line, here's how it goes.
One who ran away from their inhumanity vs. One who _embraces it._
can't help but think this may or may not fit thematically with kiryu vs. shibusawa, leaning more towards it doesn't. idk im just a nerd who has too many thoughts, might not help that i just got into the series like a few weeks ago-
The pride dragon vs The Humble dragon
The Retired Sage vs. The Mad Ex-Hermit
I actually loved Kiryu in this game more than the rest of the Yakuza series.
I prefer him being a strong yet still vulnerable man instead of an unbreakable god.

I think this is the most iconic scene of Entire Yakuza series.
Baka Mitai
This battle theme is so awesome! I recently finished Yakuza 0, and The only bad thing about this fight is that you can easily cheese it with beast
For a final battle, they could've made shibusawa go all out

while For Who's Sake, A Scattered (Eternal) Moment and Fo(u)r Faith/Face have this sad tone to it, this one is just
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH OMG OMG OMG THIS IS SO EPIC WTF"
I can't agree more with you. This soundtrack just has that epicness vibe and emotions in it.
For Face is the version that has sad tone, the other 3 version don't.
Theme that finished my Staminan Royale supply
This song really fits for a final boss, it really gives me the "this is the end" feelings
Yakuza games have like the best build up into a boss intro / boss fight ever!
Good stuff man
No need of fantasy settings or SF seetings, only two naked men fighting for their honor. Just epic
half-naked
Shibusawa was a great villain.
I hear this song whenever i ditto against a good ganondorf
Someone tell me without spoilers. Does Yakuza ever hit this peak again? I hear Yakuza 0 is the best one but surely there's another boss fight on this level in Yakuza 5 or 6. I hear good things about Kiwami 2. People were freaking out over Judgment last year as well.
well, thats all a matter of opinion. you'll have to play them yourself to form your own.
I'll only tell you one thing and it's that they don't miss with the final boss themes
@@smailchali5102 Very true. I just beat Kiwami and it made up for all the bullshit.
Yakuza 3 has the best final boss in the series. Kiryu vs Mine. Two orphans. And that was Kiryu's toughest fight in the series.
