    Thanks for the review. I'll look for part 2 to arrive. I may get one of these. My old 100 MHz CRT-display Tek scope is really lacking in modern features, things like storage, 4 channels, FFT, and a sig gen. It still works just fine, but it's way behind the times. The rest of my gear is all much better. My scope is the weakest point on my bench, so it's time for a change.

    I ordered a Hantek 6254BD Osiclloscope Digital 4 Channels 250Mhz Bandwidth USB PC Portable from ebay. It contains a 25MHz single channel Frequency Generator. I am gonna share my observations when I test it. Thanks for the great review.

    I look forward to part2, you might guess I would like to know a bit more about the FFT functions on a USB scope as the 12bit processing should kick my beloved 8bit Siglent's arse (ass) !....cheers.

      Maybe with a different scope. The FFT function on this one is a bit rudimentary.

    i am in the market for 2 or 4ch USB scope that can work with square signals up to 100Mhz. i think this is good scope for the money!

      How square do you expect the signal to be? To be able to reproduce a square wave fairly well the scope needs to be able to produce the fundamental and at least the first 3 or 4 harmonics. That means to get a decent 100MHz square wave you need a scope with a bandwidth of at least 1GHz and a sample rate of at least 4GHz. This scope will produce a waveform from a 100MHz square wave, but it will not look very square.

    Video content is excellent. But audio dropped way down around 3:30 and rose around 7:40.

      Thanks for letting me know. I'm working on that on two fronts: A better microphone set-up and better editing software that allows me to normalize the audio.

    with this 6074BC model being specified with a bandwidth of 70 MHz, but still apparently being able to handle 250 MHz (albeit with amplitude loss), I am wondering how far the Hantek6254BC with its specififed bandwidth of 250 MHz can be operated above its specification.

      The amplitude loss was within 3dB which is the point out to which BW is usually measured. On the 6254BC, I don't know but it would be interesting to find out. Are you planning to get one?

      ​@@uni-byte I'm currently looking for the right oscilloscope to purchase, and your videos are a great help during this. Having access to capturing signals at a higher bandwidth could be helpful in some scenarios, such as reverse engineering.
      Now seeing that the 6074BC is capable of handling threefold of bandwidth it is specified, I was wondering how much the 6254BC can be stretched before hitting limits. Theoretically, with 1 GSa/s, a 500 MHz bandwidth could be achievable. This of course greatly depends on the analog front-end (which may or may not be identical to the 6074BC - who knows, only a teardown of both could tell).
      The 6254BC currently (as of July 2024) costs 385 EUR including VAT in Hantek's EU online shop (versus 306,13 EUR for the 6074BC).

      @@Abdullu Yes, it would definitely depend on the front end as well as how they handle the sampling when fewer channels are used. Have you seen Part 2? In that I tear it down and you can see the silkscreen on the board. They use the same board for all the 6xx4 series scopes. So, they will definitely have to change the ADC and the firmware, but I'm not sure if they change anything in the front end. As it stands, they would not have to as the front end in the 6074 does go to 250MHz, so my guess is they won't, but that's just a guess. I do not know for sure.

    is 6074BE as good as BC?

      The BE is only 2 channel and only samples at 250MHz whereas the BC is 4 channel and samples a 1GHz. So, no it's not nearly as good.

      @@VladGoro25 I can only find the 6002BE series on their website. Not a 6004BE series. There are 6004BC, 6004BD and 6004EU series. all of these are 4ch. @ 1GHz sample rate. The idiots at youtube will not let me post a link.

      @@VladGoro25 Okay, I did a google search for it and found it. Seems like it comes as a part of an automotive kit, is that right? I really don't know this one. According to the info on Hantek dot com it can do a lot of automotive measurements with the right accessories, but otherwise seems the same.
