The band name "LOVEBITES" is derived from the song "Love Bites (So Do Eye)" of the American hard rock band "Halestorm". How the band was formed. On July 18, 2015, when DESTROSE went into hiatus, miho (Ba), who was in charge of the bass at DESTROSE, invited haruna (Dr), who had previously left DESTROSE, to start forming a new band. The two listened to the song of asami (Vo) sung on the demo tape of a professional composer, contacted them, and asami joined as the third member. On June 15, 2016, the name of the new band of miho and haruna was announced as "LOVEBITES" and the official website was opened. On June 29th, it was announced that midori (Gt) would join and support guitarist mi-ya (miyako) would join. The latest information. Miho, the leader and bassist of this band Announced withdrawal from the band on 08.17.2021. Currently the band is temporarily suspended. Over the years I have read comments about Lovebites, a recurring theme is Miyako's stage persona. If you see her videos away from Locebites, she smiles away quite happily and is not like the stage persona she is today. The early Lovebites shows when she stood on stage right, Miyako is far more animated. There was a decision to change the stage sides for Midori and Miyako, related to the keyboard position on the stage. At that time it seems to help distinguish between Midori and Miyako, Midori took on her blonde hair and performs power stances and guitar movement when playing. Miyako became the person we see today. In addition, Miyako is known to want to play on stage note perfect. If you add this plus her relatively new skill of guitar playing, plus Lovebites ability to play live on stage songs they could not previously play on stage, I am amazed any of them can move at all.

Regarding Miyako's seriousness or boredom on stage; it's certainly a stage persona to contrast with Midori (like fire and ice)...it has become more obvious in recent years. If you look into her past performance with her former bands (A drop of Joker, 21g (grams), Sonic Lover Reckless) and even early Lovebites from 2017-2018, she certainly carries herself much differently on stage (smiling, jumping, swaying, kicking; you name it). Also she does break character from time to time to interact with the audience and her bandmates; but I don't want to spoil too much. Hopefully you will see after reacting to more of their amazing songs:) A notable example is when she and Midori performed "Farming Simulator" in London alongside Dragonforce during their 2019 tour together. Miyako likely is bored lol, She wrote, composed, and arranged this song. I think she is the type that dominates something, then moves on to the next thing to dominate lol. She is also a classically trained professional pianist, the vast majority of her life she has learned to express her emotion through her music, which probably plays into her stoic nature. Étude+Swan Song has a very classical music influence feel to it within the power/thrash metal framework, and a nice surprise at the end. Empty Daydream will probably classify better as a power ballad. But either one is good and will showcase Miyako's classical piano skill. And you got Asami's name's pronunciation correct.

Yes, that is the formula. 80% of their song is like guitar solo and other guitar solo then together. Miyako the dark haired guitarist is basically a classic pianist but she also plays guitar. Guitar is her second instrument. She started learning piano at her 3, and started teaching herself guitar with an instruction book at her 18. Additionally, the other guitarist Midori was studying pharmaceutical but started learning guitar at a music school at her 20. Both guitarists have rather short experience of guitar, a little over 10 years. 10 years are more than enough for gifted artists, I guess. Yes, generally either Midori or Miyako does a solo, then the other, and then together in harmony. Certainly not always, but mostly. I hear a lot of comments about Miyako's stoic appearance on stage. Some people say she has no emotion. All you have to do is listen to some of her more melodic solos, and you can see that she has emotion to spare. When you see her off stage, she's actually very bubbly and fun, but when she's on stage, she's all business. Don't forget she's been a classical pianist for almost 30 years. Classical pianists are not known for being outwardly emotional (Yuja Wang is the exception to that). I think she's just a perfectionist, and in her mind if she makes a mistake, she's failed. She has said that when she gets a new guitar, the first thing she does is change the pickups and capacitors until she gets the exact tone she wants. She's always experimenting to get the "perfect" sound. On top of being a concert quality pianist and a virtuosic guitar player, she composes and arranges most of their music now. She's also taught herself to play bass and drums so that she can compose those parts as well. So, don't be fooled by her stoic appearance; underneath that facade, she's a musical genius.
If you wanna listen to a power ballad, then I recommend “Empty daydream” because it’s got nice piano, it showcases Asami’s vocals and the girls’ nice backing vocals as well, with a mid tempo. If you want to hear a more complex piano, then “Revolutionary etude + Swan song” is the way to go. Other excellent power ballads are “Epilogue” and “Edge of the world” (all live). The latter has an interesting build up.

If no one has told you this yet about Miyako, she is the quiet, introverted, mad musical genius who composes much of LOVEBITES' music with Asami and other contributing parts as well. Miyako is a classically trained pianist since age 3, so there's that and then she took up guitar at age 18. She's also one of the featured artists for Dean Guitars.

Miyako is my favorite. She concentrates. Some people looks bored when they are relaxed or concentrates. BTW - she is the main composer for Lovebites. And Asami is the main text writer. And, as has been said, Miyako kills it on the piano. I recommend Swan song with Chopin for that.
Miyako has been a piano player since she was about 4? I think she's been tackling guitar for the last ten years or so.. For her piano playing many people (and me) will rightfully direct you to "SWAN SONG" - including the pre-piano etude. Another track that pulls it a bit ballad-ish and gives Asami some vocal shine is "EDGE OF THE WORLD". That look of boredom or passiveness that she carries is very much just her composure.. not tsundere because she's actually open and kawaii in conversation, very thoughtful and eloquent.. I feel it's more that she's a bit like I am when on stage.. quiet, focussed and watching over it all, reading it all and geared to things being as good as they can be from her position of responsibility in the effort. Incidentally, the show is out on DVD/Bluray at the end of September 2021.

The thing about Lovebites is: no matter what mood you are in, they have songs for you. They do heavy thrash, but they also do everything else! SO... you just need to go check out everything they do! About the "solo, solo, harmony" formula, they do use it in a lot in their popular songs but they change it a lot, even the structure of the songs can be very different from song to song, so don't always expect it to be that way

On July 18, 2015, when DESTROSE went into hiatus, miho (Ba), who was in charge of the bass at DESTROSE, invited haruna (Dr), who had previously left DESTROSE, to start forming a new band. The two listened to the song of asami (Vo) sung on the demo tape of a professional composer, contacted them, and asami joined as the third member. On June 15, 2016, the name of the new band of miho and haruna was announced as "LOVEBITES" and the official website was opened. On June 29th, it was announced that midori (Gt) would join and support guitarist mi-ya (miyako) would join.

Miyako and Midori like playing up the ying/yang aspect of their stage personas. It's fun to see Miyako break character and let out a big smile. There is a video where they solo back to back then fist bump at the end. Just amazing to see. I think it is on the We the United video.
Over the years I have read comments about Lovebites, a recurring theme is Miyako's stage persona. If you see her videos away from Locebites, she smiles away quite happily and is not like the stage persona she is today. The early Lovebites shows when she stood on stage right, Miyako is far more animated. There was a decision to change the stage sides for Midori and Miyako, related to the keyboard position on the stage. At that time it seems to help distinguish between Midori and Miyako, Midori took on her blonde hair and performs power stances and guitar movement when playing. Miyako became the person we see today. In addition, Miyako is known to want to play on stage note perfect. If you add this plus her relatively new skill of guitar playing, plus Lovebites ability to play live on stage songs they could not previously play on stage, I am amazed any of them can move at all.
if you watch their live concert on 2019 called Daughters of The Dawn, Miyako was so attractive, impressive, more smile, more show off, and not to mention how hot and badass she was on her own project named Sonic Lover Reckless, can you imagine Miyako wearing a blacktight suit and shredding on her 7 strings guitar? im sure since 2020, Miyako just play her "stage role' to be more calm, cold, stoic, to contrary with Midori.

Regarding Miyako's seriousness or boredom on stage; it's certainly a stage persona to contrast with Midori (like fire and ice)...it has become more obvious in recent years. If you look into her past performance with her former bands (A drop of Joker, 21g (grams), Sonic Lover Reckless) and even early Lovebites from 2017-2018, she certainly carries herself much differently on stage (smiling, jumping, swaying, kicking; you name it). Also she does break character from time to time to interact with the audience and her bandmates; but I don't want to spoil too much. Hopefully you will see after reacting to more of their amazing songs:)

Miyako likely is bored lol, She wrote, composed, and arranged this song. I think she is the type that dominates something, then moves on to the next thing to dominate lol. She is also a classically trained professional pianist, the vast majority of her life she has learned to express her emotion through her music, which probably plays into her stoic nature. Great reaction btw. and yes dual leads into harmony or unison lines, not all of them but the vast majority.

Swan song would probably be the way to go. But honestly everything Lovebites do is Epic.
Étude+Swan Song has a very classical music influence feel to it within the power/thrash metal framework, and a nice surprise at the end. Empty Daydream will probably classify better as a power ballad. But either one is good and will showcase Miyako's classical piano skill. And you got Asami's name's pronunciation correct.
Break the wall, Edge of the world, Thunder Vengeance, Burden of time- live studio, Under the red sky. All incredible songs. Miyako is more stoic on stage. Midori is the flashier, more energetic player.
She's not happy with the epidemic rules in that concert, that's why that face.

Yes, that is the formula. 80% of their song is like guitar solo and other guitar solo then together. Miyako the dark haired guitarist is basically a classic pianist but she also plays guitar. Guitar is her second instrument. She started learning piano at her 3, and started teaching herself guitar with an instruction book at her 18. Additionally, the other guitarist Midori was studying pharmaceutical but started learning guitar at a music school at her 20. Both guitarists have rather short experience of guitar, a little over 10 years. 10 years are more than enough for gifted artists, I guess.

Yes, generally either Midori or Miyako does a solo, then the other, and then together in harmony. Certainly not always, but mostly. I hear a lot of comments about Miyako's stoic appearance on stage. Some people say she has no emotion. All you have to do is listen to some of her more melodic solos, and you can see that she has emotion to spare. When you see her off stage, she's actually very bubbly and fun, but when she's on stage, she's all business. Don't forget she's been a classical pianist for almost 30 years. Classical pianists are not known for being outwardly emotional (Yuja Wang is the exception to that). I think she's just a perfectionist, and in her mind if she makes a mistake, she's failed. She has said that when she gets a new guitar, the first thing she does is change the pickups and capacitors until she gets the exact tone she wants. She's always experimenting to get the "perfect" sound. On top of being a concert quality pianist and a virtuosic guitar player, she composes and arranges most of their music now. She's also taught herself to play bass and drums so that she can compose those parts as well. So, don't be fooled by her stoic appearance; underneath that facade, she's a musical genius.
If you wanna listen to a power ballad, then I recommend “Empty daydream” because it’s got nice piano, it showcases Asami’s vocals and the girls’ nice backing vocals as well, with a mid tempo. If you want to hear a more complex piano, then “Revolutionary etude + Swan song” is the way to go. Other excellent power ballads are “Epilogue” and “Edge of the world” (all live). The latter has an interesting build up.

If no one has told you this yet about Miyako, she is the quiet, introverted, mad musical genius who composes much of LOVEBITES' music with Asami and other contributing parts as well. Miyako is a classically trained pianist since age 3, so there's that and then she took up guitar at age 18. She's also one of the featured artists for Dean Guitars.
Hahah.. Miyako always like that on the stage.. It's like her persona, but on one interview I heard she said that she's the most nervous one on the stage.. Off the stage she laugh and smile and joke around cutely though.. 😆

Miyako is my favorite. She concentrates. Some people looks bored when they are relaxed or concentrates. BTW - she is the main composer for Lovebites. And Asami is the main text writer. And, as has been said, Miyako kills it on the piano. I recommend Swan song with Chopin for that.
Miyako has been a piano player since she was about 4? I think she's been tackling guitar for the last ten years or so.. For her piano playing many people (and me) will rightfully direct you to "SWAN SONG" - including the pre-piano etude. Another track that pulls it a bit ballad-ish and gives Asami some vocal shine is "EDGE OF THE WORLD". That look of boredom or passiveness that she carries is very much just her composure.. not tsundere because she's actually open and kawaii in conversation, very thoughtful and eloquent.. I feel it's more that she's a bit like I am when on stage.. quiet, focussed and watching over it all, reading it all and geared to things being as good as they can be from her position of responsibility in the effort. Incidentally, the show is out on DVD/Bluray at the end of September 2021.

The thing about Lovebites is: no matter what mood you are in, they have songs for you. They do heavy thrash, but they also do everything else! SO... you just need to go check out everything they do! And then you will understand why we say they are #1. Since you want to see Miyako on the piano, the next one you need to do is SWANN SONG with PIANO ETUDE. And yes, you will be even more blown away.

So you want to listen to Miyako's piano? Yeah, I guess people has already jumped to recommend *Swan Song.* I also think it is the best as a next step. Then you could check one of the ballads to see a different register from them. Edge of the World, Epilogue, Empty Daydream. The three of them are great.
If you want to see them really go to battle watch 'Scream For Me' (live) They do a couple of solos each during the song, & then attack each other 10 times at the end of the song. Or there is also a studio performance too.

About the "solo, solo, harmony" formula, they do use it in a lot in their popular songs but they change it a lot, even the structure of the songs can be very different from song to song, so don't always expect it to be that way

These women chase flawless perfection to the point a missed note in a 2 hour concert will likely get them upset!!! Power, Speed, Thrash, Rock, Prog, Ballads and classical piano are all in their catalog of 50+ songs and you will NEVER be disappointed by this band so have at it and pick anything you want, LIVE really shows off the insane talent but even studio or MV are insane!!!

Miyako’s demeanor maybe because of her classical piano training from a early age! During recitals they don’t exude physical emotions like “headbanging”, e.g. IMO, could be wrong! Regardless, she’s awesome 😀❤️!

Miho Miho Miho! Empty Daydream a Ballad with a CRAZY GOOD Piano and Vocal Intro Personally I would say Miyako is a Better Pianist than Guitarist, that is NOT to say she is not a World Class Guitarist but she was Classically trained on Piano from the age of 3.
The Goddesses of Metal. For more "ballad" songs try, Epilogue, Empty Daydream or Edge of the World. Swan Song is a favorite of The Wolf Pack. I wouldn’t consider it a ballad per-say, but has a ballad feel with the way Asami sings it. Enjoy! 🤘🏻🐺
