  • Can’t make it in-person? Join our special livestream of the Sunday presentation of "An Evening with the Presidents.” Join Washington, Jefferson, and Madison this President’s Day weekend for a special LIVE! from History online evening event. The Presidents will explore how their administrations navigated party, faction, and the extensive differences that challenged America during their times. Recognizing that throughout our history, the United States has been a nation divided politically with different opinions and points of view. This was as much the case in our infancy as it is today. Hosted by Barbara Hamm Lee.

I am watching this again a year later and it is still magnificent. I always want to know what the Founding Fathers would say regarding our present times. Well done Colonial Williamsburg. It is right to bring up present events even if some live in their bubble of belief whether truth or not. Whether evidence and truth show otherwise. Ms. Lee was appropriate in her opening and in her questions and the presidential interpreters are brilliant. Colonial Williamsburg is so important for education and the truthful history of our country. I am grateful.

Thank you CW for a wonderful presentation of our past founding fathers juxtaposed present day questions surrounding America in the 21st century. Thoroughly enjoyable and enlightening.

Shame on whomever concocted the opening statement/question. Keep it neutral & within the 18th century, CW!!! The Presidents did a wonderful job throughout.

I'm so glad I watched this live. The Presidents we're perfect. Jefferson is such a randy fellow!

Our fathers handled them fantastically. Moderator should have been neutral.

CW you deserved a better moderator. That opening question was very inflammatory. Subsequent questions seemed more like a vanity play from her. Usually you are very clear that what CW presents is of that time and does not stray into the biases of today. But the moderator seems intent on making this about her biases. Kudos to the presidential interpretors stop handled this with grace and saved this program.

Not well done at all. Ms Lee was horrible. I hope we don't see her moderate again

Hmm. They spoke of Civility, yet the urge could not be resisted of uncivilly stomping over the simple, neutral compliment given to Moderator & the three presidents for their efforts. And so I repeat:
Great job Mr Presidents! And well done Ms Lee. Bravo. Huzzah
Thank you all for the giving of your time.
These men give oratory thru-out the grounds of Colonial Williamsburg.
One of Jefferson, delivered five years ago, holds viewers entranced over a riveting 48 minutes. The man was stunningly eloquent.
It was before the United States Capital was broken into & ravaged by a violent uncivil mob working on the behalf & behest of the traitorous sitting President unable to accept the Majority Vote of the People that rejected him.
They defecated and left feces in the hallowed Halls of America's Federal Capital.
ALL unequivocal truth, as evidenced in photo & film & first hand account.
Alas, the vile man WAS ousted, yet the Country he pretended to lead, will be shaking off the degeneration, violence & incivility he foisted on humanity for many years to come.
      It was that bad. 🥺
What would Tom Jefferson would have thought of that attempt to subvert Democracy? Would he recognize his Country?
Let us hope the electoral college appointment of TFG (45) was an anomaly, not to be repeated again.
I fervently pray the consciences of our better angels rise in one strong concerted voice to restore dignity to the once respected Office, sullied by the 45th Presidency.
We are better than that and will be strong again.

to speak currently.... would 48 years in the Senate and 2 Highly questionable years thus far supposedly as the elected President count as a Monarchial spirit? Someone who thinks themselves above the Constitution to have a divine right of a King. It explains the contempt he, his predecessor , and all their minions who think NOT that they should answer to Congress, but smirk...

The very opening of this presentation brought me to tears. Why? Because I expected more from Colonial Williamsburg to speak truth! You see, I attended the rally on January 6th. My hubby and I didn't know what was happening inside the Capitol Building at all. I'm sure for most of the more than a million people in attendance that day, it was more like one huge block party (oh, yes, I have photos--a mass of humanity!). People smiling, chanting, singing and, yes, praying! The number of folks who invaded that building represented a minuscule percent, if that much, of the hundreds of thousands who flooded the city that day. What happened inside the capitol was, I am totally convinced, a SET-UP against those of us who dared to question the legitimacy of the Presidential election. Yet, it's ok to portray anyone who dares to question such legitimacy to be radicals storming the Capitol Building and trying to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power from one administration to another. To this day, people still refuse to seek the truth. C.W. has always been one of my favorite places to visit. But, this past weekend, I have seen and heard enough to question if the leadership of this foundation is holding the best interest of the public who visit. My heart is broken that the one place I look forward to visiting for TRUTH in education is failing miserably. To hear C. W. support the absolute lie that what took place on January 6th was an insurrection is just beyond my comprehension. My only faith remains in the character interpreters. Will they continue to speak truth? Or will they be forced to begin rewriting our nation's history, too?

Perhaps Ms. Lee may want to let history and facts reveal themselves before making such profound declarations. Colonial Williamsburg does want to reconsider allowing someone to use their forum and credibility to forward personal narratives. If four years of the Russia Collusion circus hasn't taught us anything, then we're to stupid to learn.

      Oh. Dry your crocodile tears.
It's too bad the Foundation of Colonial Williamsburg did not fall in lock step with you & your Fascist violent rioters.
Do not mistake intelligent viewers here to be so ignorant as to believe the revisionist reframing of that horrific deadly day a violent mob tried to destroy the Democratic voice & Will of the People!
We have eyes and we have ears despite the hysterically expressed efforts (Tucker Carlson) to deny. And his employer "FOX Views" is currently facing a Judgement to pay
a $787.5 million settlement to Dominion for defaming said company & supplier of Voting machines.
the Truth and REALITY of the January 6 Insurrection is demonstrably clear!
And no matter how loudly the participating traitors whine about it & twist it to bend to their warped sensibilities; it stands alone as the single greatest betrayal of a sworn, sitting President in Treason against his Country and the violent mob he incited in attempt to keep him in Power.
America & the world watched in horror.
The world knows the TRUTH & saw w/ their own eyes.
WE WILL NEVER LET SUCH TRAITOROUS ACTION against OUR Country OCCUR EVER AGAIN.
YOU who invaded Washington J6 are but a miniscule & dwindling minority in America's population of 332 MILLION.
Civility, tenacity & intelligence will win the day.
We will resist the Fascist loving J6 maQa mob and keep America's Democratic Republic strong. It was always Great!
