What could best epitomize the enduring solidarity of the developing world and Chinese support for African independence and development? The Tazara Railway, linking Dar es Salaam in Tanzania with Kapiri Mposhi in Zambia, immediately springs to mind. Five decades on, the friendship between China and Zambia withstands the test of time. In this edition of Leaders Talk, CMG's Li Tongtong sat down with Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema during his six-day state visit to China. From Shenzhen's high-octane development in southern China to the Jinggangshan Red Army Base in Jiangxi Province, from Fu'an in Fujian Province where China's poverty alleviation efforts have brought substantive results, to Beijing, where he met with President Xi Jinping, Hichilema put together what he calls "the pieces of the puzzle." During his visit, China-Zambia relations have been upgraded to a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to boost his country's development and kick-start a much-needed industrialization process. Hichilema pins hope on President Xi's three global initiatives and China's Belt and Road Initiative and says that China-Africa cooperation has given the African continent a bigger say in international affairs.

I love watching China working with countries. They show class and respect when they are the most imlortant country on earth. Taking all of their friends with them for shared prosperity freeing them from the shackles of the west.

you need roads, bridges, ports, airports, trains before you can become a factory of the world, or before you start becoming industrial base. you have to dig resources, carry the resources to the factories, produce the resources, then ship or fly the products out to sell to the world. Not many people understand this basic economic concept.
Let us handle this our own way thank you. China is willing to help us, no one asked you.

Zimbambwean president is trying to remove weight from Zambian international relations with economic giants, such as Russia, China , USA,France,etc,yet our relations with these great nations are mostly by design. Hakahinde must not relent.

Well, with the free education and other child welfare initiative improving, he may not be president by the time the children in school now finish their studies and be ready well informed citizens. But its a good investment. Planning for long term is what most african states need.
